I am traveling on business and was looking to get a SIM card to use my phone internationally(in Canada). Pia was very helpful and solution oriented. She laid out all of my options clearly and helped me get out and on with my day as quickly as possible.

I came in here to return a phone that I bought. The sales rep was clearly irritated to have to do the return. He tried to refund me on my debit card but for some reason it did not go through and could not for whatever reason be refunded back to my debit card. He said that he has never seen anything like this happen before. We tried 3 times to get it refunded back onto my card and it wouldn’t go through. He then said come back in an hour and I will call our bank and see what the problem might be. I asked if I could just get it refunded in cash, he made it clear that would be a LASTRESORT. I came back an hour later and he hadn’t even bothered to call the bank but rather asked me if I called mine. We then tried a fourth time because apparently resetting the machine took an hour. It didn’t go through, he then wanted me to leave and asked if he call me once he figured out what was going on, I was really quite upset, because this would have ruined my afternoon having to cancel pretty much everything for that afternoon and possibly ruining my plans for the day so I refused to leave and said I would stay until the problem was resolved, he still decided to just set the issue aside and deal with another customer rather than just give a refund in cash at this point. It clearly didn’t matter to him that this was an inconvenience for me. I think he gave in because I was clearly angry, didn’t say or do anything but was incredibly angry that he would this. This has happened to me once before at future shop, they tried a couple times, gave up on troubleshooting the issue and just gave the refund in cash instead of asking me to do my «part» and call the bank and help him troubleshoot the issue because giving a cash refund is a LASTRESORT even if it were to ruin all of your plans for the day having to push everything back or cancel all together.

This review is based on my cell phone coverage in Yaletown and not the actual store or the staff that work at this location. I am writing this review as a warning to those who live in Yaletown and are considering signing up with wind mobile. When I lived in burnaby I rarely had issues with my coverage. Since I moved to Yaletown I constantly lose network. When I called to complain they could not figure out what the issue was. They gave me a new sim card and the problem persisted. I then used that brand new sim card in another phone to test and see if my phone was perhaps broken and the issue is still there. That can only mean that the coverage sucks big time. I will also point out that I live 3 blocks from the nearest wind tower and that this should not be happening. So a word of caution for those living in Yaletown.

Wind is the worst company I’ve ever been suckered by. Service is terrible and the product sucks. Wifi service is very slow 90% of the time and only somewhat useful 10%. I never thought I’d ever go back to Telus but when you need phone and internet service WIND is not a acceptable option. It just does not work with any reliability. WINDSUCKS! Stay away if you value your time and money. Wind is a perfect example of «WHEN A DEALSOUNDSTOOGOODTOBETRUE… ITISNOT». They take your money and deliver nothing but crap service in return.

Wind Mobile is a massive scam in Vancouver. I don’t get coverage in my apartment or place of work, both in the heart of Downtown Vancouver(not in basement either). Everywhere else is unreliable and download speeds are modem like. When reporting that I want a refund, they don’t want to give me any money back. I went back to my old provider in just three days. Beware! I was scammed of $ 80 dollars(25 for sim and 39 for first month service). Prices are great, but expensive if you know what you are really getting for the money.

One of the nicer stores ever — simply being close to the water helps, by the marinaside lol. It is spacious, seems to have a heckuva lot more light, and not as busy as their Thurlow location. pretty friendlier service compared to Telus, but that’s not saying much lol. Located across from Urban Fare. lots of metered parking everywhere.

This is one of the flagship Wind Mobile stores in the Lower Mainland. If you need something done, this is where it can be done with the least amount of hassle. The manager is really nice and spends a lot of time with customers. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Wind’s selection of phones is slowly improving. Coverage is also getting stronger. Probably the major cons for me are the lack of signal reception in Canada Line tunnels and also on the local ski hills. Otherwise, I’ve always had five bars almost everywhere else and crystal clear reception. The major plus is the incredibly inexpensive plans. I’m paying $ 20/mo for unlimited text and call, with voice mail and call display. I’ve kept my old telus phone around but I’ve hardly used it. Wind covers all my needs. =)
