More of a 2.5 star rating. It could swing either way — I didn’t like it, I didn’t not like it. Really, I’m just on the fence. We came here for dine-out on a Thursday night and it was probably ¾ full. We chose to sit outside with the heaters and it was just the right temperature and good for people watching. The food was mediocre. My boyfriends kale caesar salad was good, but my french onion soup was a disappointment. The taste was okay, but it was literally caramelized onions, bread and cheese melted on top — no soup. It barely covered half the bowl and there was zero soup, so really, all I got was french onion with bread and melted cheese sans soup. The mains were a little better. My boyfriends pork tenderloin was cooked nicely but lacking in flavour, and my seafood linguine was alright. The portion size was decent but it all tasted very one dimensional and the seafood didn’t taste that great. For dessert we both got the crème brûlée. This was the best of the night but still disappointing. The taste was good, but there was practically nothing in the dish. The brulee covered maybe ¼ of the dish. literally 3 bites and it was gone. All in all, for the value, mayyyyybe it was worth it, but I’ve had much better food for the same price at other establishments. I will definitely not be rushing to come back, but might possibly try it again in the future.

Since they moved into Marinaside they have has consistency in food and quality which is pretty much the same as any diner or local pub in Vancity but because of the location and ambience. It’s a very ideal spot for a quick grab! Friendly and warm place, menu could use a little help with vegetarian options or mix match with Taps and Barrel sort of menu. I am sure it would always the business.

First time in this restaurant, i ordered from the brunch menu. French toast and english breakfast tea. Food was bellow average, and for 2 slices of french toast it felt pretty overpriced. The rest of our group wasn’t very happy about their steak and eggs either. Don’t think i’ll be coming back.

I recently visited the hurricane grill for a large birthday party for a girlfriend of mine. I ordered the seafood bowl after waiting for a very long time to be asked if we were ready to order food. It was a $ 20 dish and there was very little volume to it. The only vegetables present were onions and an assortment of bell peppers absolutely drenched in an overly spicy red sauce and it was so overwhelming that the flavor of the seafood, which was scarce, was completely lost. Also many of the people in the party felt that their drinks were watered down. We mentioned it to our server Michelle but she seemed highly defensive and insisted she saw all the drinks poured herself. Over all the food didn’t impress the service did not impress nor did the beverages impress. Also after everything there was no toilet paper in the ladies bathroom stall and it was dinner time on a Saturday night! Gross!

Great location, warm heaters, friendly staff, quality food, fair prices, open late. My kind of every day place. I like to eat out and relax and this is a good place for both.

This would be ZERO stars if allowed. I worked in restaurants for a good ten years, and, as such, tend to grossly over-tip even when it’s totally not deserved. This was the first time in my life that I have not left a tip. My friend was running late, so I was seated by myself on the patio. No less than 20 minutes passed before anyone so much as acknowledged me, and I finally had a glass of water on my table at 30+ minutes. This was not before the server saw me, then said«I’ll be with you in a sec», and tended to the table of 8 that had literally JUST been seated next to me. Despite me sitting there alone for 30 minutes. Pretty insulting. Things literally went downhill from there, if that’s possible. We didn’t get the food that we ordered, and the food that we finally got(when we’d already finished everything else) that our server had forgotten to ring in was a limp, soggy mess. Our server never bothered coming back to our table for us to be able to tell her, and when she finally came to clear our plates and we told her, she totally brushed us off. Then we had to wait 30 minutes to even so much as FIND(yes, find, not see, because we had to search her out) our server to get our bill. Oh, and I had to get up a total of five times throughout the 3 hours we were there(no, we weren’t having a leisurely afternoon — that’s literally how long it took) to ask for someone to come to our table, because our server was nowhere to be seen. Like I said, I put up with a lot and let a lot of things slide, given my history in the restaurant industry, but this girl could not have cared less about doing her job, and not once apologized or even made an excuse for her complete lack of giving a shit, or pretending to. I didn’t go in having high expectations, honestly, but the treatment we received was actually insulting and put a huge damper on an afternoon that I was very much looking forward to with a friend who I rarely get to spend time with. I will most absolutely, 100% NOT be returning. My expectations in general are really not particularly high, and this was beyond disappointing. I don’t know if the restaurant needs to add some staff, or get rid of the girl who«served» us(I use that word loosely), but I don’t care to come around again to find out.

First, we were told we could sit on the patio. Found a seat, got comfy, then server came up and told us there was a wait list. Got put on list and moved inside. Then waited. And waited. Ordered a drink inside from a different server but then had to settle with her before moving outside. Sat outside and waited almost 15 minutes before a server came to take order. When told we were ready to order food — she said she would come back for our order. Food came almost 40MINUTESLATER for a salad and beef wrap. Beef was cold, salad was witty. NOSERVICE. NOTIP. NOTGOINGBACK.

I’ve been here before, and the experience was always on the 3 star level. Today, unfortunately, I am writing this review based on a really sub-par experience I had. It was a little bit busier than normal, but, really, only the outside patio was crowded, inside, wasn’t full. Got seated, order taken all good. Waitress was polite, but you could see it was a bit hectic for the staff serving. Ordered the fish tacos… and really… by fish, think of a shredded fish, maybe a couple of pinches in each taco. The taste, was ok, due to the fact that it was more of a Salad Taco, you could barely see or feel any fish. So, either rename the dish or, be honest about it. I was served not by my waitress, she brought me the dish without fork nor knife, no napkins. I had to ask. Then, with that, I ordered my second pint(sleeve actually, they don’t have pints), since this dish(a SALADTACO with sprinkled shredded fish) took about 35 minutes to come. The beer never came actually. So, ended up paying $ 14+tax on a salad taco, that took 35′ to cook, and didn’t get my second beer that I’ve ordered. Not impressed. Only gave 2 stars because of the location, and my previous experiences which were on the 3 stars level.

I have lived above hurricane grill for two years now. And have only gone there a handful of times. Always give it a chance that maybe they got better. Nope disappointment every time. Dirty, smells and probably needs Robert Irvine to come in and gut the kitchen and steam clean it to death. Not sure how this place can get 4 or 5 stars from anyone. I only am giving it 2 because the view ads one extra star. And get a happy hour special will ya!!! Like the rest of the city. And carry a 20 oz pint like a normal bar you morons. The manager must be a moron or just rich and not need to improve. So annoying to see so much potential and an utter failure.

Likely a three star venue for non-dog owners and a four star location for those, like me, that are dog owners. The Hurricane Grill is in a great location down by the marina at Marinaside Crescent — you’ll get views of False Creek and the Sea Wall as well as almost constant sun all day long during the warmer months. It’s definitely a good spot for tourists or those with visitors that want to show off some of Vancouver’s great views without breaking the bank. The food is OK, not fantastic, but not terrible either. It’s pretty standard stuff, as are the drinks — there’s nothing awesome to recommend. The patio and staff are both dog friendly which is a godsend in Yaletown.

Hello beautiful, nacho-loving people who are reading this blog. We ventured into uppity Yaletown for some uppity nachos which actually just led us to an over priced, kind of bland, sports bar. Otherwise known as Hurricane Grill. I was expecting more from Yaletown, to be honest. I wanted some swanky place with swanky people and swanky nachos. Alas, we were given relatively okay nachos in a place pretty forgettable. We also found during this nacho round(hah poetry) that we’re getting just a tiny bit snobby when it comes to nachos. Ok, a lot snobby. We’re totally bitches. (read the rest of our nacho review from Hurricane Grill here: )

Great location, right in front of the beautiful marina in Yaletown. The restaurant is quite cozy, though staff are not overly friendly. Drinks and reasonably priced and food is quite good. I’ve been here a few time but last night decided to have Lino’s Special Lasagna, which seemed like an odd choice at a restaurant like this but it turned out to be quite amazing! Great portion, it also comes with Caesar salad and garlic bread. I’d highly recommend it! There are a lot of great options on the menu. Great fries as well. The only thing I’d stay away from is the poutine. Had it once and it tasted like they put soy sauce on the gravy, which made it super strong and we couldn’t enjoy the taste of anything else.

I came here last night with a girlfriend for some drinks and dinner. Upon arriving there were 2 hostess standing at the door looking bored’. They greeted us with smiles and we seated ourselves in the lounge. I love the cozy atmosphere with the fireplace. It was a bit too warm at first but I got adjusted to the heat. The server was great she came and took our drink orders within a few mins of siting down. I wasn’t feeling particularly that good and probably should have stayed home. I ordered the nachos and my friend ordered the fish tacos. We ended up getting

Chose to dine out here with a friend. The reviews seemed to be really hit-or-miss, so I kept my expectations low. Not sure if it’s because of that but I really enjoyed my night here! It wasn’t fantastic but it was still enjoyable. Food was good, service was pretty good, atmosphere is just ok. Definitely like it better than Cactus Club or Joeys etc. I’ll be coming back to try out the brunch pretty soon :) *if you check in on Unilocal you get a free dessert!

Wow. I just sat down to write my review and browsed through some of the previous ones. Talk about hit and miss! It’s seems as though people either love this place, or hate it, and service seems to be the main reason. I’ll share my experience. I had been out for a walk on the Seawall and decided a cold beer would be in order, so I popped in. This was my second visit here, with my first being approximately two months ago. I didn’t review my first visit, but obviously I came back, so it must have been good. Service was off the charts, all in a good way. I walked myself into the bar area, and before I had even taken a seat I was greeted from behind the bar with a warm hello. I didn’t know it at the time, but the person greeting me was Ash, who I later learned to be the ‘manager’(however I do note that he has also been referred to as the owner in previous reviews). He was incredibly attentive and provided a warm and friendly introduction that day. I asked for a beer, and within a minute I had a refreshing cold Grolsh in my hands. I also asked him about a couple of menu items, and he took the time to explain how each was prepared, and offered his suggestions. I ordered the Greek Wrap, with South West chicken soup as a side. The soup was awesome, with a touch of heat to complement the flavour. Ash mentioned that they don’t serve this every day, but if it’s being served the day you’re there, I suggest you order it, assuming you like chicken, and a bit of heat! The Greek Wrap was very good, with fresh ingredients and plenty of healthy stuffings. The flavours were nicely blended. Service: Here’s what I’m confused about, after reading previous reviews. When I left the restaurant I said to myself that I HAD to take the time to write a review because the service was outstanding, and equally importantly, the entire staff was upbeat, attentive, and seemed to be having a great time. Honestly, everyone from the bartender, to Ash, to the entire service staff seemed as though they had just been given a huge raise, as they all seemed so happy. Personally, I had three different people attend to me for various things, and all were pleasant. Obviously I hit a good day! And the kicker: As I was leaving, I glanced around as I had wanted to say thanks to Ash for the service, but he was busy with other things behind the bar so I simply worked my way towards to the exit. Literally as I was leaving, I heard«Thanks Marc, hope to see you again!».(He had asked my name earlier, when I had ordered my beer.) I turned around and there was Ash, still behind the bar, just wanted to say goodbye. Exemplary management. There you go. My two cents worth. If you choose to pay a visit here, I hope your experience was as positive as mine was.

We are here for the World Cup, great seats to watch games, lots of screens. The Hurricane Cocktail tastes great, and we are being served with an amazing free dessert after the purchase of our meals( Unilocal Check in offer)

Food seemed homemade and the brunch choices were nice for 1pm on a Thursday. The salmon on the West Coast Egg Benedict could have been more fresh, to me — as it was almost slimy. The English muffin was a little rubbery, too. He ordered the ham and cheese egg white omelet. Ham was processed looking — and the feta lacking. The white toast seemed more like garlic bread… Beer choice was good and aided our enjoyment on dining for the first time in Vancouver. Just check-in to unlock an offer. We got a free drink(alcoholic or non), which was the only reason this is 3 stars and not 2. Service was meh. Probably bike right by next time to a better restaurant for less.
