This place, in the middle of Yaletown, has excellent service, décor, a large space, and an outdoor patio that is actually warm during winter! Food is all a toss up but they specialize in pastas and handcraft(in-house) liquor of all types. Come for the nice ambience but be prepared to pay a little more than usual. Go for: awesome atmosphere, specialty-made drinks, and awesome awesome service(e.g. manager Gino went out of his way to make space for our large group, our server made us feel at home, and so on) Don’t go for: budget eats

Loved our booth, the chandelier, the atmosphere, Manhattan, pasta(cooked perfectly), cool bathrooms and great service! The bill was $ 127 for 3(each had 3 drinks, appies and dinner)… Coming back!

Went here for drinks and appetizers on a friday evening. Tried the calamari and a flatbread, they were delicious and tried their whiskey sour which was better than most out here. Had good friendly, informative service and was a fun chill atmosphere. Wasn’t having to yell to have a conversation.

Four stars for the beautiful bar space — this is a great spot for drinks or brunch. The décor is lovingly respectful to the original Yaletown architecture(head to the back of the bar on a cold day and try to get a seat in front of the fire place). The $ 10 brunch menu is pretty good, with all hash, benny, and omelette dishes well worth the affordable price point. It’s a strange stance to offer no espresso coffees, only filter. I can’t quite see the reasoning for that. The downside of the menu is that, outside of the brunch, it gets pretty limited. Still, an excellent brunch venue.

Horrible service, good food. My husband and I came here and waited about 25 minutes in a relatively dead restaurant before i got the attention of a sever walking by. Once we ordered we waited another 20 ish minutes before I only received my drink. Once the food came out shortly after I asked about where my husbands drink was. she looked at me and said«oops I forgot» and slowly made her way back with the drink. Probably the worst service I have ever encountered but the bottomless mimosas and food was good.

The Distillery has a great patio, huge tables for large groups, and a $ 10 weekend brunch menu that starts on Friday. So I end up there often on Fridays with a large group from work. However, the lunch special food is nothing special, pretty mediocre actually. The beer is the blandest of what Yaletown Brewing has to offer(Lager, Pale). There is a ceasar special with brunch and all you can drink mimosas so it has that going for it. If you’re looking for a discount place in Yaletown then The Distillery is probably right up your alley. If you’re looking for quality, there are so many better places than this, but you’re going to pay for it. Did I mention the patio is fantastic!

I went here for the Sunday $ 10 Pasta special. You’d be hard pressed to get me away from my favorite pasta the Spaghetti with roasted eggplant and ricotta — but at $ 10 you can’t be too disappointed if you try something new and it doesn’t live up to your expectations. I don’t know why I worry as I am never disappointed! I had the Fettuccine with chicken, prosciutto, mushrooms and peas — delicious! The fettuccine was cooked perfectly al dente with a light tomato cream sauce and the chicken perfectly juicy. I am definitely becoming a regular for $ 10 pasta night. Note– if you want good service don’t go to The Distillery for dinner, we must have waited almost 10 mins after sitting down to even get menus and the service was slow all night. I return as I love the atmosphere and the food is great– if you want good service try the $ 10 weekend breakfast– service is always more prompt and attentive at breakfast.

What a lovely place. $ 10 delicious breakfast menu so many great treats. Had the best cheese bread and like fourty litres of mimosa if I don’t say so myself. Our wee waitress was a delight and we we will be back!!!

The Distillery in Yaletown has a nice open feel, and hosts a neat little patio offering a nice spot to people watch. The bar is large and well stocked. I have been a dozen times but have never seen the place full. Happy hour wraps up at 6pm. At aproximately 5:53pm the Bartender suddenly became very busy, and remained too busy to take our order until shortly after 6pm(checked my watch — confirmed 6:01pm), whence I was advised that we had unfortunately missed last call for happy hour. We left shaking our heads, and took our business elsewhere. Sorry Distillery, you have lost a few customers for at least a few seasons. Perhaps we will try you again next year. There are just too many fine establishments on that street who are happy to accept our business.

We had our brunch here. The ambiance is good and it’s nice to sit at the patio. Service is pretty fine. They have $ 10 brunch menu. I had veggie hash and I added a piece of toast. Wait time for the food is not bad but nothing much special with it.

Meh This place isn’t bad. It just doesn’t have the wow factor. It’s a very standard yaletown bar. The drinks are very limited, the food tasted like your standard pasta, slightly better. However it’s a good safe place to come if you are around and needed some food. It is not worth traveling for

I thoroughly enjoyed the brunch here! The yaletown restaurants are all on the fancy side, even the places that are not fine dining its hard to come by a decent meal for less than $ 16 – 18. This place offered brunch menu for $ 10. The choices looked delicious! I’m not much a fan of eggs and most of them had eggs but nonetheless they still looked really good. I opted for some other entrée options but they were reasonably priced and were delicious! They had drink offers as well, cesears for $ 5 and bottomless mimosas for $ 10! The cups were small for the mimosas so I refilled probably 4 – 5 times. I’ll definitely need to come back! There’s tons of space inside and out, we had a spot on the patio which was heated, perfect for a relaxed weekend. brunch.

I’ve been to the Distillery a couple of times now. Once for dinner and the other for brunch. Brunch: $ 10 menu $ 10 bottomless mimosas. Takes reservations. I had the gorgonzola omelette came with hashbrowns and a slice of toast. It was good. Dinner: we came with a larger group very busy night I had pasta, nothing special. We all shared the mozza balls which was delish. Great drinks as I remember. The service both times was good. This place get busy at night especially the bar area. Good place to hang out and drink with friends rumor has it they have great happy hour.

We went there at 10:20 p Friday night. We tried Yaletown brewing before that around 10:00 and was told that their kitchen is closed! So, we went to this place. Super friendly and attentive staff, although the place was full and they had only one table available. Gino welcomed us very warmly and friendly. Our waiter was Michle from Rome! He is well informed about the stuff on the menu and super attentive and fun. Wanted to eat something light but tasty. Ordered calabrese pizza and mushroom caps. The flatbread crust was very good and well-baked. Tasted wonderfully. Mushroom caps were super delicious. Despite being very crowded and a weekend night, the food arrived at our table in 15 min.

This review is for the Distillery’s brunch and happy hour only. If you want a no frills breakfast/brunch at a good price, then TDB is «A-OK» for you! At $ 10 a piece with more than 10 options, you simply cannot get better bang for your buck if you are looking for anything to stuff your face with after a late night of who-knows-what. Bonus points for a large patio! I got the Veggie Hash and my wife ordered the Distillery Scramble. Again, nothing fancy here, just hearty and flavourful brunch plates at great prices. We were so satisfied with the breakfast that we decided to give its happy hour a try that same day! However, the happy hour did not impress as much as our previous meals. The issue lies with expectations. For a weekend brunch at $ 10, I am not looking for anything fancy… just good. However, considering how Vancouver is(slowly) getting better at happy hour, I was expecting better from TDB. Don’t get me wrong, at half-price with a variety options, its a great deal. But we just did not enjoy what we ordered. My wife and I ordered the chickpea fries and all 3 bruschetta’s. Sorry to say that they all were pretty pedestrian and non-inspiring. The best part of the fries was the dipping sauce… not a good thing. The bruschetta was pretty awful… unseasoned and flavourless. It’s a shame they put SO much whipped gorgonzola on the gorgonzola/pear bruschetta because that would actually have been a delicious pairing. All in all, great place for a decent fast/no frills brunch… NOT a great place for happy hour(considering the options nearby).

This is my second time here. The first time we came on a Saturday night where it was extremely packed. It also smelled like puke that time by the door, but even though it stank, I didn’t see any puke so either they cleaned it but didn’t Febreeze or someone puked in a corner. Either way, thank God we were seating towards the back the first time. We had an asian server whose name I forget but she was awesome, always checking in and getting our drinks even though it was super busy. BTW this place has a co-ed bathroom which is all the rage nowadays but I just don’t get it. I don’t want a guy staring at me as I tease my hair and apply my makeup; it just takes the mystery out of girls getting dolled up lol. Am I the only one that thinks that? Maybe I’m old fashioned or just out of touch! Anyway, second time tonight and it was less busy(it was a Thursday night) but the music was still pretty good. Overall it’s got a great vibe and atmosphere. People dress up here(it’s Yaletown) and it’s hard to find a table/seat but if you’re patient enough it’s worth the wait. Crowded but nice scene for Yaletown that’s not a club. I would recommend because there’s nothing really like it because places are either a club or casual bar, no lounges in downtown really. If you find a good lounge, let me know!

Made a reservation for a party for 8pm weeks ago. I guess there was an error somewhere on the way and the restaurant thought my reservation was for 7pm. Someone called me at 7:30 on the day and told me it’s fine we can arrive for 8pm instead. When we get there at 8pm I get told my reservation was given away despite someone telling me half an hour prior it was fine. Who I assume was the manager was unapologetic and just overall unhelpful. When I told him someone on the phone told me it was fine for 8 he just says«I don’t know who you talked to.» And brushed me off. What kind of customer service is that? Will definitely not be coming back to a restaurant that can’t even honor a reservation.

I was here briefly so I may go back and edit my review. Best things about this place? Ambiance and service! It’s a nice looking place and the waitresses were nice and friendly. I never tried the food. I didn’t like the drink menu. I finally settled on prosecco and it was blech! I left it there. I seriously couldn’t drink it. I will give this place another chance though. Ok so I went back a second time. I still got some great, friendly service. The ambiance is awesome. I ordered the mozza risotto balls. Omg they were so good though my cousin thought they weren’t cruncy enough on the outside. I also ordered the arugula salad which really hit the spot. I ordered a Kronenburg blanc… because again… I wasn’t too keen on the drink menu. If its just two of you, sit at the bar. Good conversation and its the most beautiful spot in place! I will be back! Great date spot!
