I’m giving 4 stars for the #2 bowl only(see my 2 stars for service below), which I’m addicted to after first trying it at the Chopped Leaf location in South Surrey. I’m vegetarian, so I always get the bowl with smoked tofu – delicious, and sometimes I order two so I can eat another the next day. And that goddess dressing(which used to be called ‘khali’) is the main thing that I’m addicted to! I wish they sold it in bottles. But the location on Robson Street I’d give 2 stars to for service: 3 times I got home(take out orders) and the goddess dressing wasn’t there – so I now check the order before I leave. Also, don’t believe the«open hours» sign on the door – their closing hours vary, and the reason I was told as I’ve asked 4 times now through the locked door was that they weren’t busy so they closed before their posted closing time(so now I have to call before I go to make sure). I also give 2 stars for service because I signed up for their ‘loyalty card’ at the Robson location, but I can’t use it at the South Surrey location. Which sucks because I’m addicted and the servers seem really nice and the #2 Bowl is freaking delicious!!!

The size of the thai salad forced me to Unilocal. The salad was so small. It only filled half the container of the designated«small» container. Salad had no taste and looked half eaten. After I ordered, I went to the washroom while they made me food so I was unsure if the salad was served properly(hopefully not an unwanted leftover). I only ordered the salad after the server told me they were out of shrimp salad rolls. Her communication was not well and she couldnt explain what was on the menu properly. See my photo posted of the penny in scale to the gross salad. I even checked with my co workers if I sounded unreasonable. They cringed their face and said I had a right to be unsatisfied after seeing the salad.

Pretty nice! I am always looking for healthy food options around where I work. When I first saw the low rating i was a little hesitant to try. However, after trying their lunch special, I would say it is a pretty good deal for how healthy and fast it is. I would definitely visit again on my clean eating days!

Good healthy options. Very clean food good for when you’re wanting something not to heavy for dinner. We frequent this place once in a while prices are on the higher side and they don’t ever have any good daily specials but overall ok place to dine.

When I was there, I talked to the owner on the phone, and he said he’d call to give a refund. Never did, shady business and owner.

I agree with the previous posts that their food and their service do not worth the price. When I signed up for their email, I received an email for my birthday that I can get a starter salad or wrap for free. When I showed the coupon to the cashier, the cashier asked another staff from behind then the cashier said the food is free but I still need to pay the tax. I was surprised because it was my first time to hear that. There are a lot of places that offer free food or drinks on your birthday. When they say it’s free, that means it’s totally free unless you order more than the birthday amount given. It’s not about the money since it is only a few cents to a couple of dollars extra. It’s about how they treat their customer. The fact that they charge tax on the free birthday item means that they are really cheap. If so then this place is not worth my money since you can get their food somewhere else with better service.

Stopped for lunch at an interesting eatery called the Chopped Leaf. DH had wild mushroom with rice soup — very tasty, and a Tuna Melt sandwich. The tuna sandwich had interesting additions of cucumbers, julienned carrots, and romaine lettuce — I’m definitely going to copy that at home in the future, for it was a really good combination. He also ordered the ‘chopped water’, which was just cold water flavored with chopped pineapple and pears. The fruit added a little flavor to the water, plus you can eat the fruit when the glass is empty. I had a tuna wrap sandwich, which was big enough to take some home for leftovers. The restaurant was new, modern, and clean, including the restroom. The cook was very friendly, when I asked if I could have my half wrap to go, he wrapped it in paper, then stuff it inside a plastic container with lid, so it doesn’t spill out of my bag. Very good, thank you!

Fresh, healthy, quick and easy. I was on a chopped leaf kick for a while, until I started making more of my own meals again. The #1 chopped rice bowl, with a few alterations, is SOOOO good. Try it with some orange slices, you’ll be surprised how delicious it is. This location is always really muggy and hot inside, but the service is great! I heard their soups are good, their african spiced lentil sounds AMAZING! I’ll have to give one a try! You rock Chopped Leaf!

Very disappointing chicken & pesto quesadilla… where the chicken was fairly non-existent & the pesto so thinly applied that it provided no flavour at all. At $ 10 I felt cheated!!! I’m not really a fan of flavoured water but this is the only option as they don’t stock bottled water just there own«Chopped Water» which has some fruit through it. Thankfully the amount of fruit was about the same as the chicken in my quesadilla so it didn’t add much taste to the water but charging $ 1.50 for flavoured tap water is ridiculous!!! I certainly wouldn’t eat here again.

Every time I eat here, I spend $ 15 or more and I am, like clockwork, hungry again in 2 hours. I regard salad as ‘the food that food eats’, but even given that, the salads here feel like pretty sad examples for the price.

I’ve been coming here since the first week they opened. Every time ordering the«spicy chicken sandwich» substituting tofu for the chicken. Delicious. Today when I went to order I was told that«we don’t do substitutions» — this from the same guy that has served me many times before. «We can’t make exceptions» i was told. Needles to say, I won’t be going back to a place that are unable to make a simple substitution. Boo chopped leaf.

Ordered the Greek bowl and added chicken. Overall the bowl was very good which included: rice, Greek salad and a piece of dried pita all served together in one bowl. There are 2 reason I gave this four stars: First is usually a «Greek» dish would be served with a rice pilaf not basmati rice… Which would be suitable for their butter chicken rice bowl. The second is because the bowl is advertised at $ 8.50 but that’s only if your okay with eating it as a «vegi» dish however when you add the recommended chicken option for an additional $ 4 it becomes a little pricey at $ 12.50 plus tax. But I will likely return to try some other options as I work in the area. A couple of recommendations I would make to Chopped Leaf are: 1) Use a more authentic rice pilaf for the Greek dish and 2) a «Souvlaki» type of flavoring would make sense rather than just plain chicken.

I went to this place for lunch, alone, after my weekly gym workout. I usually go to the food count for a quick salad, but I went to this place to have something different from my routine. My first impression, a typical salad bar with a «made you own» menu, a pre-set salad, wrap or soup menu. Well, I ordered my «made your own» salad with chicken, olives, iceberg lettuce with ranch dressing. In under 5 minutes, my meal arrived and I knew this dish would not be the best. All I can say, my dish was made in the«Subway Style», everything prepared ahead of time and pick & pack to go. The lettuce was not that fresh and it was at its borderline for serving. As for chicken, it was dry and I think it had been seating in the heat tray for a while. My dish in my opinion was one of my worst fast food on my list. For $ 13 with no drinks, I had many other options in downtown and the worst part, the salad ingredients are even fresher in the food count. P.S $ 1.5 for your Signature Water punch in a huge dispenser is not a great marketing product to sell.

I love the salads here. Not a cheap option but a reliable place to get a yummy gluten free salad with wild salmon. My co-worker absolutely loves the tuna melt.

Went there for lunch with 4 friends. My friends all got their lunch, the rest of the restaurant got their lunch and then I had to go up to the counter and ask for mine. They had just started it :( No one came over to explain any situation, any delay, nor an apology and in the end, I asked to just give me something because I was starved, so I got a cold sandwich :( no soup as a peace offering, no money back and no credit for another. Very disapponting

I’ve come here a few times now since it’s very close to my office. Not once have I truly enjoyed my lunch. I go because it’s close and offers a healthier lunch than most of the other places around. However, today was my last visit. The whole place just seems disorganized to me and watching my salad ingredients coming out of little plastic bags and chicken weighed on a rusty scale just turns me off. When I pay $ 14 for a salad, I expect fresh, crisp lettuce & vegetables, a homemade dressing and at least half a chicken breast. Instead, what I got today is mostly brown, wilted lettuce 5 bite-sized pieces of chicken, and salsa from a jar. It’s not for me.

I came here ’cause I wanted to eat healthy. They have it. The only problem is that it is honestly way to overpriced for what it is and should be. There are better salad places around the downtown area, skip this one. Service was friendly and there is a decent amount of space. Stick the basic veggies… meat were questionable.

In reality it’s 3.5 stars, but maybe 4 will inspire them to be better. 3 out of 4 times this place has been pretty on point to its flavours and salads. But my last visit I was given an unripe avocado and felt there was just a bit too much dressing. Rock hard avocado + too dressy = SALADFAIL.

One word to describe the food here: Mediocre. I tried the salmon bowl and the thai soup for lunch and they were both so mediocre, for $ 17 I was really expecting something much better. The bowl consisted of 50% spinach leafs that came from the salad package from the super market, and the food was really really bland. To make up for the bland flavour they gave me a lot of different sauces to mask the bland flavour which I didn’t use because it seemed something pre-made. I wish they gave me more pieces of salmon instead of scrappy salmon pieces. The soup was ok but it wasn’t phenomenal nor rich in different flavors– could get much better soups from Choices or Food Ware. $ 17 wasted.
