Quick and friendly service makes this a great stop for a non-fussy meal. The only thing that could make the sandwich better is toasting the banquette just a little longer to get just the right amount of crunch… very good regardless.

Tried two of their most popular subs. The pickles in the subs were the only good thing in them(but they were still just basic). There was hardly any meat and the bread was too big and a waste of carbs. I would not come here again.

Super fast, super friendly, super hygienic service! I usually grab my chicken sub to go from here, today I decided to eat in. The best thing about this place is consistency. you’re never wondering if your meal is going to look different from the day before. I’ve also had a rice dish from here but take out, even during busy times they are so quick to prep and present your meal. It seems like it’s operated by a small family and space behind the counter is limited but they are so efficient. They also use gloves to prepare and pass you your food which I totally appreciate. Location is convenient, on Robson, and beside Japadog. Vietnamese food is generally healthy relative to the other fast food places.

It’s a gem. Super fast, super friendly, and great food. Honestly, it’s priced too low for the quality of food and experience.

Delicious banh mi! I liked the additions of onion and sauce that is pinkish on the cold cut sandwiches. Very good bread to meat ratios.

Reviewing this place as a lunch spot. 5 stars for service and speed. Staff very friendly and professional. Food is served up faster than McDonalds! 3 stars for food today. Ordered the C3 well done beef noodle soup. Generally okay but the noodles had a strange flavour and aftertaste. Portion is perfect for lunch. 4 stars for cleanliness. See the staff clean up after every guest without fail while I was eating in. 5 stars for value. Great prices for a quick lunch. Will be here to try other food and probably do catering for team lunches.

$ 4 subs — not a bad deal and they’re conveniently/centrally located. I pass by this place every day after work but decided to stop in to try one of their subs finally. I had the meatball with cold cuts sub — standard filling, nothing amazing but it did hit the spot. The baguette was fresh, crispy and had the good bun to filling ratio. Tiny place with limited seating, it’s more of a to-go place.

Tiny portions(phở noodles). Food court quality. I rate this 2 stars based on my order of the beef phở. The noodle portions were extremely small(as shown in the photo). The soup base tasted very similar to the phở soup at the Pacific Centre food court(which is not very good for Vancouver standards). For $ 7.25, you will get better value for a small bowl of phở at a conventional vietnamese sit-down restaurant. Update: I updated the rating from 2 stars to 3 stars after trying their vietnamese sub.

A lot of people recommended this place to me for their cheap and good subs so I decided to take-out one for a quick lunch. After you order your food, its a bit cramped to wait inside. Go outside and after they prep the food, they will bring it out to you. I liked that, good service element. I tried their BBQ Sub and it was just OK until my last bite which was this fatty jelly like pork that wasn’t so appetizing. At $ 5(after tax), it was the same price as One Saigon on Hornyby St, and I like their subs better. Plus One Saigon has a 2 for $ 7.9 deal on Thursdays which makes their subs even cheaper if you share with a friend. So I probably won’t be back. At least the cashier and the girl who preps the food looked friendly. And they do have faster service.

If you are a phở-natic like I, probably not the greatest spot for authentic phở I have had. It tasted like phở you would eat at the mall. I ordered a chicken sub and phở as well. Portion was small for the price. The people that ran it was wonderful people. Super polite and tentive. I wish they put more filling in the sub so it didn’t feel like eating dry bread.

Worst pork-vermicelli noodle i ever had. Not enough veges, pork wasn’t cut-so i had to cut it on top of the noodles, which smashed all of the noodles. Pork was too dry and just too hard to eat. Gotta try phở here so i’ll see why this place is so popular

I enjoyed their Special Banh mi :9 I wouldn’t mind coming back again to try some of their other food options… It’s a rather small place… So I’d suggest coming alone or do take out. :)

I loved it. Was inside Japadog about to try it for the first time but when I went inside I didn’t really want a dog after all and I didn’t get the choices. So I left. I walked into the falafel place and walked out. I then seen the Vietnamese sub place and contemplated hmmm. Decided to buy a fried chicken sub and spring rolls. ITWASDELICIOUS. BESTSUB. FRESHLYMADE. HOT O OUTOFTHEOVENGOOD. I HIGHLYRECOMMEND A SUBFROMHERE

Food is simple but great. Service is extremely professional and polite. Soups and banh mi are both worth the stop. Oh, and the prices are ridiculously low for Vancouver.

The outside looks like a broke down pizza shop, the inside looks like a vision from a childhood past, spent in a suburban mall food court. You order from a small picture menu, adorned by a small counter and a few old stools, feeling like you’re about to eat something greasy, salty, and mushy, and sit down at the window counter then, BOOM! You get hit by the Vietnamese flavor train! Crusty french bread, sweet spicy bbq pork, fresh cilantro, onions, carrots, and sprouts explode in your mouth, and sweet savory pork rounds out the nicely balanced banh-mi. All memories of standing in line for msg bathed chow mein fly from your mind and you are transported to a beautiful Asian market with fresh vegetables and warm baked bread crispiness. The orders arrive quickly, in the fast friendly fashion that banh-mi’s usually do, the staff makes you feel welcome with smiles and sincere hospitality. We also ordered shrimp fresh rolls, spring rolls, both were top notch, as was the peanut sauce that came with the fresh roll. It seemed as though it was homemade as it wasn’t familiar to me and the consistency was perfect for dipping EVERYTHING in. The lightly fried, still crunchy(not soggy) spring roll came in a delightfully large portion that was ideal for sharing with a hungry group. I got a phở special to go, which impressed me most of all. Phở is often bland and boring, but not here! They individually packaged the meat, hot broth, sauce, and vegetables all separately to go, so they would all maintain their peak texture and flavor at the moment they were combined. They came together in a triumphant symphony that will echo across my tongue for all eternity. And the total bill for all 3 of us to happily stuff ourselves, including banh-mi, appetizers, and phở? $ 20. If you want to eat like a Vietnamese prince, even if you’ve got the bank roll of a pauper, Viet Sub will make you feel like royalty.

Great food, good customer service. This review only covers the veggie bánh mì and vegetarian salad rolls, but includes many visits. Order at the counter, and then choose to eat outside at the two small tables next to the sidewalk, inside at the window counter with 4 stools, or inside at the table-for-two. I’ve always just taken my sandwich ‘to go’. Warm bread with a crisp crust, and is soft and chewy elsewhere Warm pillowy tofu Lots of fresh veggies(carrot, daikon, cucumber, cilantro) Signature spicy mayo All for the price of $ 4.50. So tasty, has become my favorite in the city. Yum! The team is friendly and says hello as you come in the door. Polite interactions at the register. During the busy lunch hour you’ll take a number and awkwardly fill the tiny dining area as you wait, or outside if it isn’t raining. Once, during a busy lunch I walked out with a shredded chicken sub instead of a veggie. I was so sad, but didn’t have time to go back until the following day. By that point I had given away the chicken sub. They gave me a veggie on the house with no questions asked. That’s good CS!

I never knew this place was so popular. I first came here a few years back when walking down Robson and just wanting a sandwich of some sort and subway just wouldn’t do. Really nice staff, tiny little shop that I thought was family owned when I first tried it but I am not too sure anymore, either way they’ve always been very kind and very fast. I remember ordering the BBQ chicken Banh mi for the first time and it was absolutely magical… pork plus chicken plus beef plus meatball all put together into one sub? HELLYES! This thing is a great size and a great price and you guessed it, the thing tastes freaking great. Probably the best singular Banh mi i’ve had in Vancouver and that’s saying a lot. They also have some of the best prices downtown for all their food including: Phở, salad rolls and spring rolls. Over the years I’ve been many times including one just under a month ago. come to think of it now, it’s been way too long. I think I know where I’m headed for lunch :)

Why isn’t every whole in the wall this awesome?! The Banh Mi sandwiches at this place are retarded! The texture of the baguette is fluffy yet crispy, with fresh veggies that make the lemongrass flavors pop. The Phở here is not bad — it’s a perfect grab and go option if you work downtown and need something quick, or enjoy the sidewalk seating to people watch. This is one of my new favorite local spots.

Eating here was the best part of my day! Viet subs are pretty up there on the fave scale, probably right next to pizza… or Filipino bbq haha. I’ve had a lot of Viet subs in my life but I have to say that this place stands out! These guys do not skimp out on the veggies or sauce, and they give you sriracha and water on the side. I’m in love! Savoury chicken, that special secret sauce, pickled radishes and cilantro on freshly toasted French bread is just such a wonderful magnificent miracle on this earth. *___* — those are starry eyes. Such a fancy flavour profile for just a little over $ 4. I gotta throw in a #WINNING on top of that! If you’ve never tried a Viet sub before, I recommend the bbq chicken! You wil not be disappointed!

My favourite viet sub place I’ve been to anywhere around the world, and I travel quiet abit. Nothing beats their price nor that warm toasted bun, the tofu, the sauce and the picked veggies they put on. For under five dollars you can crave your hunger in this delicious sub It even feels healthy when u get the veggie version although I cannot really say if it is… A must try in Vancouver and on top of my cheap eats Don’t expect a fancy joint, this is a hole in the place but family run, fresh god for fast Value 5⁄5 Atmosphere 4⁄5 hole in the wall place but has seating Service 5⁄5 very friendly family owned Quality 5⁄5 19⁄20
