Fairly priced drinks, a jukebox with some of the widest variety of selections I’ve seen, really nice and friendly bar staff who say hi and take the time to chat up their customers and learn their names, and a reasonably simple menu where everything is $ 4.95. The food isn’t going to blow your mind, but for $ 4.95 priced accessible bar fare it is definitely above my expectations. Seriously though, the bartenders and friendliness really make this place great.

Honest staff that bring you wings maybe even a few minutes before you are ready. Theodore is a beauty on the eyes but maybe don’t make your drink order too complex, Will and Duncan are true beauties in the Canadian sense– may or may not own more flannel than you but know an Old Fashion from wherever other mixed drink people order that isn’t a beer or cheap Whiskey. In short: they remember your name, don’t judge, and probably won’t sleep with your sister unless she really is the true knockout your creepy uncle keeps saying she is

I have been here a number of times and have always been satisfied. The portions aren’t large, but for $ 5 the selection is extensive and the quality quite good. The fries are often cold that happens everywhere. The salads are great especially the goat cheese and the pork chop is amazing especially for the price. Also the beef dip is consistently good. It gets busy so the service can be slow sometimes, but food comes out at a reasonable pace. A good standby in the West End. Always a good vibe.

All the food is under $ 5 but that doesnt mean the quality is bad. Amazing tasty food for the price but it was loud(even on a Sunday night). If you dont mind noise than I recommend and will return.

Really great local spot on Davie street and an awesome place to grab a seat at the bar and mix with locals /enjoy great barman banter. On my first visit(after a few hours and lots of beer) the bar was pretty full and enjoying a loud sing along to Circle of Life! Classic. But when the audio inexplicably quit on us the barman broke out into a rendition of The Fresh Price of Bel-Air which was pretty magical to sing along to with 30 other drunks. Food menu is all under $ 5 which is sometimes all you need, but probably not what any sane doctor would order. A bar for people with personalities and a sense of humour.

Food was cheap and decent, but the service is less than adequate. Came in for a relaxing birthday lunch, and once the food was placed on the table there was NO interaction by servers or management. Glasses were empty for most of the meal but no interaction until 10 minutes after finishing meal when plates were taken away(only 12 customers in house). Sad.

My friend and I were strolling along Davie Street on a Friday night looking for some cheap pub food. We came across the Capital, which is basically the same as the Warehouse and the Factory on Granville. Five bucks for the whole menu? Count me in! We shared a big bowl of yam fries and perogies — weird combo, maybe. But we were hungry. Also decided to pretend I was nineteen again and ordered a bunch of random shooters. Shooters were okay, food was good. Can’t really mess up perogies and yam fries. The atmosphere is kind of grunge-y — wooden tables and booths, posters all over the walls, but I feel that suits the place. Cheap atmosphere pairs well with a cheap menu. It’s not dirty though, so don’t worry. If you’re looking to dine out on a budget, come here. They have full meals like mac n cheese, burgers, etc. for that price. Can’t beat it!

Love this pub for a solid $ 5 meal. I’ve never been disappointed by the food. They don’t really have good drink specials though so you pay full price for drinks everyday, but that’s what you get for paying $ 5 for food. The staff are always nice and it has a laid back hip neighborhood feel to it.

The food was excellent. Bartenders excellent. Atmosphere great. But… the female servers(waitresses) were unfriendly and appeared unhappy. But we will be back for sure and will sit at the bar.

I don’t understand how they can price their food so low! I’ve been coming here almost every day now, and the food is Soo good and the portions are so perfect for me! I’d pay double for this amazing food anytime of the day! Not only is the food Soo yummy, the staff is beyond impeccable! Soo friendly, always on top of every table and beyond excellent service! It’s so easy to over tip here @ $ 4.95 a plate, its a given. But to me its not overtipping when u have amazing service like this! Highly recommended… to come here everyday! and in my case, sometimes twice a day! Hope they don’t get tired of seeing my face!

A hip and fun pub-style place with a DJ in the West End with a menu full of CAD$ 5 options, including salads, veggie burger, sandwiches, and vegified entrees, we did well here. (It has a nearby sister place called the Warehouse with the same model and similar food, but it wasn’t as good.)

This was a fun bar! We just loved the throwback music that played on a Saturday afternoon. They had music videos on the tvs and it was mostly 90s and 80s stuff. So we had a blast singing along. The drinks are pretty good and you can’t beat the 5 dollar food menu!

We came into town for the Women’s World Cup and had the best experience ever!!! This was our favorite place the whole time we were there. We ordered probably everything on the menu and it was all delicious. My sister and I like to get advice from locals on what to do because they obviously know best and our bartender(who was AWESOME) told us to visit Lynn Canyon Park and we did! It was amazing!!! Next time I come into town this will absolutely be my first stop! Great food, great people, just great!

The prices are $ 4.95 for almost everything. I went in around 1pm and there was only 1 waiter and 1 cook. But they served some decent food. Today seemed to particularly busy lunch. They pulled through with positivity and friendliness. I will definitely be goi g again.

Wandered in while looking for late night eats and the $ 4.95 menu is incredible. Ordered the kale Cesar salad(comparable to any $ 13 salad at other places & it was delicious; along with the Nasi Goreng(Indonesian style fried brown rice veggies pea shoots s fried sunny side up egg &(chicken & prawns added free) was amazing — I honestly can’t think of anywhere in North America where I could find anything comparable to this dish for under $ 15. Everything was fresh, fast and amazing. For under $ 10 before tax and tip I went from starving to nicely full… I actually feel a little guilty for getting so much value: honestly I couldn’t make all this for what I was charged. Felt comfortable sitting alone catching up on a little work while watching extreme sports with the foo fighters rocking in the background. The staff were attentive, friendly and chill. My server Emily like all things I experienced here tonight was simply great: a perfect fit for this cool, comfortable, tasty hangout. I’d come here with friends, alone or to chill with a bud and catch up in a friendly unobtrusive atmosphere without hesitation any time.

Everything that’s wrong with the ‘new’ Davie village. I don’t generally subscribe to the idea of gentrification as a problem per se but this chain of bars with it’s faux rustic attempt at a NY east village dive bar is a perfect example of what’s going wrong in Vancouver. The highlight of my evening was when a owner/manager/investor of some kind stormed into the bar with a group of friends and without saying a word to us or even eye contact started using our table to line up shots and drinks for his pals and then piling up the empty glassware and jostling our table around while they gave each other enthusiastic bro-fives. The bartender was awesome though.

Why not? Everything on the menu for $ 4.95 and tastes good, good casual atmosphere and friendly service, that’s why ;) It’s not knock your feet off but you’ll be satisfied with the portions as long as you ordered 2 per person, is my rule of thumb ;) and : Calamari: good seasoning, even better dip Perogies: the best of the bunch, good size, sprinkled w/green onions & more than enough red peppers. Upgraded to crispy maple bacon, worth the extra $ 1.25 Mac n Cheese crispy balls: on the menu, they titled it as «Jingle Balls» lol go figure. other than the great name, this was the least fav, as it lacked flavour or enough cheese but I get it, just $ 5. Love the booth seating on the left side as well as the ones in the centre that are back to back to the table behind you… like, it’s totally casual in here, it’s not pretentious staff or customers like say, an Earl’s or a Donnelly group lol. your typical bar with lots of tv’s, canucks were winning 3 – 0 vs Ottawa when we left… Friendly staff who brought over extra napkins without asking. but the free wifi there had a slow connection.

Tried the Which Came First burger — featuring both chicken and egg(over easy), in same burger. Wow, this thing is really messy to eat. The egg exploded when I took my first bite. Good fun if you’re into making a mess.

Out of all the $ 5 restaurants owned by the group that runs the Famous Warehouse, The Factory, The Dime, The Loose Moose etc., this place, in my opinion has the best food. The beer is cheap and the food is really good here. Especially the fried chicken! This is a great place to eat and drink.
