The storefront isn’t very appealing, and wouldn’t be a place I would think of trying till my parents said let’s try this place. It’s okay for the food, not spectacular don’t go in expecting any fancy Chinese food or type of restaurant. They are really friendly, good service and we got our food pretty quickly!

For some reason, I really like the seafood chow mean. Also, they’re open really late so if you’re famished at night, it’s great.

There are definitely better Chinese food in Vancouver. House of Canton needs a few improvements on their dishes. The main issue they have is that their dishes are too salty so make sure you eat with a bowl of rice and a huge glass of water. The one thing I do want to praise them on is their Peking Duck, which they call Beijing Duck here instead. The duck skins are carved really thin without too much of the fatty part that comes along with it. The pancake wrapper came to our table warm and soft. Just the way I like Peking Duck.

after tried over 100 Chinese resturants all over the world, this is THE worst regarding of taste. I would rate 0 star if I could. However, their service is above average.

Ordered 2 spring rolls which were greasy and soggy; Vegetable Buddha’s Feast which was filled with rice noodles and a small amount of shredded carrots and mushrooms; and the fish filet with tofu on rice which actually transformed into Egg Foo Chicken on its way to my house! I had been delivered the wrong item, called, he said will call you back waited ten minutes and heard nothing so I called back, then he proceeded to tell me I was wrong. I had to explain that this was an egg dish and he insisted I was wrong, I said I will send you a photo then he yelled at his kitchen staff and said my actual order should be «30 minutes or probably longer.» I said I would appreciate them being swift because it’s been 1:20 minutes since I ordered and he said«what do you want me to do about it you live far.» I said your mistake is not my problem and he hung up the phone. I called an hour later and said I’m still waiting — he said you told me 25 mins or nothing and I have to pay the driver $ 5. I said sir, I paid you $ 12 and you haven’t delivered me my food. He said«I will try my best». I said what? You are either delivering it or your not — he said fine plus I will throw in spring rolls. I don’t have food, I’m hungry, it’s almost 1 in the morning and honestly I don’t make much money so this is like $ 30 down the drain. I will not be supporting this buisness again. Unless they change the name to Dinner Roulette.

Got take out here a few weeks after they opened. Staff were friendly and the service was quick. We opted for the house special chow mein and the ma po tofu. Ingredients seemed fresh, but we found both dishes to be too bland for our liking. Ma po tofu is supposed to be spicy, but I couldn’t detect any heat. Overall, the dishes we had were not terrible, but did not impress either. We won’t be repeat customers.

Went there Thursday night to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Dining room was nothing fancy and had the usual seafood tank with lobster and crab to be purchased at market price. The three of us were greeted and quickly seated at a table. The restaurant was half full. Menus were given to us and tea served promptly. Since my friend and his wife had never been to this restaurant they left the ordering to me. I ordered the house special chow mein, Buddha’s feast vegetables and sweet and sour pork with pineapple. Food came quickly after we placed the order with the server. Nothing particularly fantastic about the food. It was filling and satisfying and did the job. After 9pm the menu has a special small plates feature with most dishes running the 7.780 price range.

Delivery was 10 to 20 min late. Fried rice was sticky and gluey because of the seafood starchy sauce dumped all over it. Veggie chow mein left much to be desired as the sauce was made up of overcooked veggies, starchy see through soupy sauce and soapy tasting mushrooms. What a waste of $ 30.Never again.

Came here with family on a friday night. As one of the reviewers noted, this place has changed ownership many many times — the storefront doesn’t appear to attract a lot of foot traffic for some odd reason. Anyhoo, we tried a number of dishes, including their specialty soy-braised mixed meat appy, and fire-roasted boneless chicken thighs. Both were decent, and reflected some Chiu-Chow style cookery of the chef. However, the one thing that was most off-putting was the Beef Gai-Lan dish. The beef was definitely off and was probably sitting in the back corner of a fridge for a while in its raw state. Hard to forgive the cook on that one, but the server was quick to switch it up for another dish. C’mon guys — don’t serve off meat to customers when you’re trying to spread good word through the city as a newcomer.

At these prices, better get in quick before they jack up the prices, as they only opened about 2 weeks ago. And this restaurant has gone through as many name changes as to hard to keep track, its 3rd or 4th in past 5 years, used to be The Accord years back. As with the tradition of launching new Chinese restaurants, the vast display of flowers propped up on a stand attracted my attention. A lot more upscale than before but still casual, with tablecloths, about 15 tables. Ordered the beef flat noodles, sprouts/white onions and the honey garlic spareribs, all tasty; lunch portions for $ 8 is a deal! Also served with the customary(not all places) complimentary bowl of soup with taro. Free parking in the back. Friendly service.
