Came because we had a Group-on. But left saying we will be back. 2 couples from the burbs of Langley and Delta, out for a new dinning experience with never hearing of this Displace Hashery of a resteraunt. But must say that we were all very happy. The food was hot and tasty, the service was fast, pleasant and friendly. Only one had room for the desert which looked good, a Reese’s peanut butter cheese cake. Dam thing look yummy. our guest wasn’t sharing. lol thanks,

My friends and I, come here for Wing Wednesday, because of their great selection of wing flavours, and beers. The prices are quite similar to other Wing places!

Went during lunch time when it’s a bit quieter(which is preferable for me). Used a groupon so it was a good deal — ordered the fried pickles and the el fuego burger, both of which were good. The fried pickles weren’t too tangy and the burger had good flavour(if you like spice, this is the one for you). But the real star was one of the owners, Duncan(I hope I got the name right…), who was serving us as well. Hands down, it was one of the friendliest experiences I’ve had at a restaurant. Checked on us a few times and went out of his way to come and chat with us. Would go back to support his business any day!

Awesome spot. This was our first stop after the airport for some local eats. The food was amazing. The drinks are very well priced. Service was awesome. Definitely will be coming back here before our vacation is over.

Terribly disappointing. I ordered the crab burger and it sounded amazing. When it came it was nothing more than an overcooked crab patty some lettuce and 1 slice of tomato. Not worth the trip

I was so excited for an epic burger feast but it was just a super dry, extremely overcooked and unsatisfying stomach full of calories

Burgerquest #2 was at Displace Hashery, since it made it onto VanCityBuzz’s top burger list. As impressive as El Supremo burger sounded and looked(organic patty, deep fried onion ring, guac, bacon), I was left pretty disappointed! The patty was really dry and flavourless, as was the burger as a whole. The only saving grace on this thing was the yam fries — they were super hot and fresh, and tasted good with the dip. Mel and I also shared the Mac n cheese, and shrimp po boy. The po boy was alright, there was a decent serving of shrimp, but it lacked flavour. No Cajun spice whatsoever, and the regular fries that came with it were cold and limp, definitely not fresh. We didn’t bother saying anything about that since we had plenty of food to go through. The mac n cheese lacked salt and flavor! Even if it was salted properly, it needed more depth, a sharper mix of cheese, smokiness, bacon. I don’t know but this needed to be saved! Overall it seems like a local university hangout, with decent daily food and drink specials. Serving sizes are fine for the price and the menu items *sound* interesting. I think it just fails to deliver on flavor. It is dark, dingy and stuffy, sticky, overall not my kinda place. Our server though was really nice though but after sampling 3 items from the menu, I’m not tempted to come back

Burgerquest UYE — for the burger, what else? 3rd stop unofficial, 2nd stop official. Break it down. Stop. Hammer time. El supremo it was, and according to the server, it was the burger that put them on the map. We came here on a game night and I have to say, it was loud. Canucks lost and now are on the verge of elimination, but I digress. Unfortunately, the burger underdelivered. It was a 2.5 to 3 at best from an overall perspective. The patty was dry. Very dry. All members of our party agreed. It looks impressive, but taste wise, it didn’t deliver. Sorry. The salad I ordered with my burger was good tho. Mac and Cheese was a disappointment as well. Bland. It needed punch. Yam fries were very good with the dip too. Service was great and at this price point I can’t really complain about the food.

Last night our UYE burgerquest took us to Displace Hashery. I had quickly looked at some reviews/photos before hand and decided that I wanted to try the macaroni and cheese, el supremo burger and yam fries. When we got there we also decided to share the shrimp po boy. In general I felt the food was all under seasoned. The macaroni and cheese was definitely a disappointment and needed an infusion of flavour. The burger was okay but I felt like all the toppings that makes the burger look impressive didn’t add anything to it. All I tasted was the beef patty and bacon. The shrimp po boy wasn’t bad. The shrimp were a good size and they weren’t over cooked. I just wish it had a bit more spice. The thing i liked the best were the yam fries. They were really hot and fresh! The service was also really good and our waitress was really attentive.

This place has been on my personal bucket list for a while now, however, was waiting for the right occasion to come down. That occasion happened to be a UYE hosted by Becky on our quest for the best burger in town. This was round two and my belt and stretchy pants were ready to go. There is ample seating, it was very busy and loud due to the hockey game, however, manageable to still have some decent conversation. I got the basic burger on a gluten free bun. Service was fast and very good deal(burger and a beer). I didn’t get the beer part but the burger was still part of the deal. My burger was dry, however, I could taste the freshness of the meet. The gluten free bun that accompanied was really good. The mac and cheese needed some salt but otherwise really good.

Adding another star for the AMAZING ladies who work there, who couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. I was there with my dog on my patio and faced by the lifelong dealers of dog owners having a beer on the pub patio — washroom breaks — can’t take the dog with you, don’t want to leave him on the sidewalk. The ladies there were super helpful looking after him while I was inside. Excellent service, excellent dog friendly staff and patio!

Came here because I bought a Groupon. When I walked in I smelled a moldy smell that smells like sweat and slightly rotten eggs. Its a bit disgusting. Its also very dark inside and its like a basement restaurant with hardly any windows. The chairs and table are sticky. Not to mention they serve their customers water with really old plastic cups. I was too disturbed to drink from that cup. I ordered their pizza and there is hardly any meat or cheese on it. Just say mostly dough. The yam fries tasted like the ones you get from M&M. Overall nasty. Unless you like that unique mold smell then this place is for you.

Its got a typical relaxed evening ambiance. Outdoor patio for summer is where someone like me can spend hour or two while enjoying the gourmet burger and drinks. My first visit to Displace Hashery was through groupon but their Burger brought be back. Sometimes customer service for patio(recalling my previous visit) might be bit slow. Overall, a must try!

Even though I live in Surrey now, Displace Hashery is one of my favorite places to eat when I’m in Vancouver. The Wings and burgers are great and reasonably priced. Their free Wifi is strong and fast. I went there when it wasn’t busy and the owner served me at the time and he really treated me cool. I used a groupon that they offered at the time($ 15 for $ 30 worth of food). Even though $ 25 worth was spent, he offered a $ 5 credit to me next time I came over but I was so pleased with the whole experience I told him to apply the amount owing as my tip. I look forward going there again!

I really want to give it more stars but the interior space is terrible. Its dark, dank, and smells like old booze. BUUUT, the food is really good! I would give it 4.5 stars for the menu and beer list for its price point. Food is not as good as Oakwood but much better than Darby’s, if you want my comparison in the neighbourhood pub/restaurant scene. I agree with many other reviews — the burgers are solid! South facing sunny patio that is always busy in the summer. Otherwise, I think it gets a solid sports crowd during games.

Had a hankering for a burger, so thought we would check this place out… Lets just say it is now my go to burger place! We had the El Supremo burger that had onion rings on it(huge) and El something(cant remember) that had deep fried jalapenos(very spicy). I definitely recommend these they were so good. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. The patio is good to chill on and have a beer. I’ll be back to check out the entertainment they have in the evenings.

Ventured out here thanks to a Groupon. I have to kinda agree with another semi-recent poster. This place does smell a bit like a hockey bag… table and floors can be sticky, so don’t wear your finest. However, the food was pretty good! We ordered the El Supremo Burgers, sweet potato fries, wings, sangria and 2 shots of tequila(for me). Prices are reasonable and portions are fair. It was two servers for a pretty full restaurant. They really do need another server or two. There was one in particular kinda flustered, but it’s all good. We were patient. Their sangria, tastes more like fruit juice and a honking pitcher full of ice rather than wine… so maybe skip that. Yam fries? Sounds simple, but they were SO good! I’ve had a good handful from different places, but none as good as this one! The ones from White Spot in particular are skinnier and usually burnt on the ends(too thinly/unevenly cut). These, were perrrrrrrrfectly SEA salted and sprinkled with coarse black pepper! Will come back!!! YAY

Great place for gourmet pub food at a good price. There is a $ 5 nacho special when there are Canucks games. It is a huge plate of nachos with warm tortilla chips, lots of cheese, hot peppers, green onions and black beans topped with a guacamole drizzle and fresh salsa on the side. It can easily feed 3 – 4 people as a snack, 2 as a full meal. They always have a special for each day of the week: Friday is $ 10 fish and chips, Saturday is $ 10 rib night, etc. The bartenders and wait staff are friendly and it has a chill neighbourhood vibe. Another plus is that since it is further up 4th there is also plenty of free 2 hour parking on the street. The few beefs I have are that it was rather cold in there. The bathrooms were freezing and not very clean. They also turned off the music half way through my visit so that they could show Olympic figure skating. On. A. Saturday. Night. At a bar, no less. Geesh.
