Always a cozy place to go to for some comfort food! I was pleasantly surprised by the prices too!!! The grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup hit the spot for me! The food and the service was amazing!

I LOVELOVELOVE it here! My friends and I were going out for dinner, and I had suggested burgoo — best decision ever for a rainy night! My girlfriend and I got the tomato soup, and I got the sausage sandwhich. It’s bomb diggity! Definitely go here!

I’ve been to the Main street location lots of times(so the scale has said), however, my boss recently rewarded me a $ 25 gift card on the condition that I try the Point Grey location(his way of thanking me for the recent work that I did). He had the choice to distribute the cards as he saw fit, therefore, I felt more a part of the team that he issued me one, especially knowing that I am a foodie. This has been on my bucket list since May 15th, 2015 This location is smaller than the one on Main. I actually prefer the ambiance at the one on Main Street. Our waitress was super friendly. Sunset Corn and Chicken, NM corn, free run chicken and light cream spiked with Chipotle and cumin, finished with crema fresca and cilantro = Holy shit this was so flavorful and comforting. Kale + Quinoa, BUR red quinoa, kale, cucumber, cauliflower, pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries and red onion, tossed with lemon and extra virgin olive oil = Filling and probably the healthiest thing in the menu. Burgoo Biscuits, BUR four of our own warm white Cheddar and parsley biscuits = Holy shit these biscuits are to die for. Served super warm.

Perfect comfort food! Shared Mac and cheese, French onion soup and a Caesar salad. All perfection, but you’re gonna pay for it. I love their patio at the kits location, give them your number shop around and they will call you when your table is ready

One of my favourite places to eat in the city. Everything tastes like it has been made with love(and butter). Atmosphere is very cottagey and cozy. Great service always. Portions are ample. Great: Basically everything(I’ve tried almost everything). My favourites are the gooey grillers and the french onion soup. The sandwich is made with french bread that is crispy on the outside(butter, I’m guessing) and soft in the middle with gooey and perfectly melted cheese. The french onion soup is burn your face off hot(which I love), with lots of cheese melted on top of the french bread floating on top of the soup(notice a trend?).

Great service and good food! Interior is warm & intimate. Will come back to try something heartier because I just got the quinoa salad and tomato soup. Both delicious but heard great things about the chicken pot pie!

Burgoo is just a dandy ol’ spot. I’ve been to the location on 4th a few times and it never disappoints. Staff is always friendly, be it the host(ess), bartender, and wait staff. Everyone seems to go the extra mile for customers. For example, we were sitting at the bar once, waiting for our table and I mentioned to my friend«I wonder how much longer we have» and the bartender was on it – he just said«i’ll check». It was the little bit of service that I appreciated. Interior and ambience is 10⁄10. No explanation necessary. Just walk in. As for the food, it’s as good as you get for comfort food in Van. The beef bourguignon, mac & cheese, and grilled cheese are all delicious. The butter chicken was just ok. And the tomato soup was good but I found it could be more creamy(personal pref though). I’ll definitely be back.

Burgoo is definitely one of the best spots for brunch in Vancouver. Beautiful décor, excellent trendy atmosphere, perfect ambiance, kind stuff and unique food and delicious. We ordered Kentucky Burgoo, Beef Bourguignon, Burgoo and Eggs. Beef Bourguignon is enough for two small appetite girls I would say.

Came here for a Unilocal meeting and I was really craving a delicious bowl of soup. This place is a fantastic place to get some grade-A comfort food! The whole place feels incredibly cozy, and I love the spot that’s a bit of a covered patio near the front of the restaurant. I ordered their soup of the day and a side caesar salad, and all was well in my world. The soup was so flavourful and rich and tasted amazing. I will definitely be coming back to try out more of their menu! It would be a great place to come back with friends on a chilly evening to warm up our bellies with some delicious wares.

Oh man, Burgoo. What can I say that hasn’t already been said? I came here most recently with Alex G and Marje B for some tasty bites and sips and it was a blast! The service was great, very attentive, and the food was amazing! I had the ratatouille, which I(in a fit of discipline) split in two and only ate half of. It was so rich and flavourful, with tasty cheese and breadcrumbs on top for texture, and hot, well seasoned veggies inside. It was served on a beautiful wooden slab in a white ceramic container, and I wanted morrrrre! Strongbow was on special so we all grabbed one — and they’re served in the large Strongbow glasses so be warned, this is some serious cider! We were sitting«outside» in their little covered patio area — it really just feels like an extension of the restaurant, but I bet it’s delightful on sunny days! Burgoo will always have a special place in my heart and it’s always somewhere I return to when I need a little comfort in my life!

On a cold, rainy Vancouver day, nothing is more comforting than a bowl of soup. So every time the weather changes to rain, I take that as an excuse to go to Burgoo. Over the years, I’ve been to this restaurant several times. Their food has remained consistently good however I’ve noticed that their prices are starting to increase while the portions are decreasing in size. Their menu consist of Western style comfort foods, such as soups, sandwiches, and appetizers. My personal favourite is the sunset corn and chicken soup because it’s thick, flavourful and topped with fresh cilantro. Yes, I’m one of those cilantro loving people. As for the location, this one is along West 4th, amidst various shops so it makes for a convenient place to stop after some shopping or just to meet up with friends. There’s street and meter parking within walking distance. The tables comfortably seat groups of 2 – 4 people. The décor is like a trendy, warm cabin. It’s definitely a good date spot. It not uncommon to find a long line of people waiting to get in during the dinner rush, so you might want to have a plan B for where to eat if you’re too famished to wait for a table. You can call ahead to reserve if you have a large group, however they have limited reservations and some of their locations don’t accept reservations at all.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about this place and since 3 of my fave things are served here(mac n cheese, grilled cheese and tomato soup) I had to give it a try! Overall I had a great experience. We went for an early dinner so it wasn’t busy at all and we were able to sit wherever we want. Service was quick and I ended up ordering the tomato soup and mac and cheese… no surprise there I came in pretty much debating between a grilled cheese and mac n cheese. The tomato soup was just okay. I could be a little biased because my dad is Polish and makes the best tomato soup I’ve ever had. I have yet to find a place who can match or beat his soup! But either way it was still good. The mac and cheese though… mmm! It made my tummy smile and I would definitely come back for that. So next time I come here I’ll have to try the grilled cheese and strawberry lemonade. But yeah, if you’ve been thinking about checking this place out, do it!

I love Burgoo! I normally go to the Main Street location though I’ve been to the West 4th location a few times now. The service is consistently good. Servers are always attentive and very friendly. I can’t help but get the strawberry lemonade every time I go. It is so yummy and refreshing! I’m a fan of their«After School Special» which consists of a sandwich and soup of your choice. My new favorite is the shrimp baguette paired with the crab bisque. Not a heavy, greasy meal, but so satisfying. I have yet to order something I don’t love here though. Burgoo does comfort food well!

I love Burgoo. Bold statement yes, but backed by tremendous care in preparing some of the best comfort food around and some really great service. I’ve been to the other locations(on Main street and also the one on 10th) and was curious to try out the Kits location. Upon entering, you already get a very cozy vibe from the place with it’s rustic wood décor and dim lighting. I’ve tried their amazing Mac and Cheese before so we decided to change it up and ordered the lamb stew and the jambalaya. Whoa. Huge portions! The lamb was super tender and the seafood in the jambalaya was very fresh. I also really enjoyed the sausage in this dish as it wasn’t overly spicy but had a nice kick to it still. I also really enjoyed their toffee pudding, but found it overly sweet by the time I got to the very end. Finally, our server was excellent. Very friendly and welcoming without being overly in your face. In fact, we never had an empty water glass or cup of coffee the entire time we were there. I’ll be back for sure!

Burgoo Bistro is a safe haven for my friends and I on 10th. We always get the nacho fuego as a starter. They have a really good caesar salad(or maybe I’m just a sucker for caesar salads) and the tastiest chicken hasn’t failed to disappoint. Tomato soup is pretty killer too. However, I think their brunch is even better. I always get the cinnamon bun french toast — super unhealthy but so goddamn good.

I was disappointed with this restaurant. The biggest problem was the wait. It took almost an hour to bring out 4 sandwiches – and the restaurant was not even half full. Once the food arrived, it was not worth either the wait or the price. My pulled pork sandwich was small and bland, and the ceasar side salad was even worse, dry and sprinkled with bad cheese. I tried my friends diablo grilled cheese and was turned off by how greasy it was, the kind of thing you regret eating before you’re even done. The only plus was the drink menu, plenty of interesting cocktails and local beers. Overall, distinctly average. For the price, there are many many better places.

Falling in LOVE… Whammy! Grilled cheese and for their corn and free run chicken soup. The Mac and cheese is to die for as well… Ahoy brunch time! Say hi! to the bacon Marmalade Biscuits. Made with warm Cheddar and parsley biscuits. And, and, and, served with(whammy) house prepared bacon marmalade. A must try… Their Cinnamon Bun French Toast… For 14 token you got battered and baked cinnamon raisin buns with roasted apple, PURE maple syrup(A must. It’s maple sirup or nothing). AND topped with Devonshire cream. Also perfect customer service, Thumbs up! Enough said.

tl;dr — great food, mediocre service, tight seating, good value for price. At our table, we had a few different dishes: salmon banh mi, grilled cheese, butter chicken, eggs ratatouille, steak potato eggs(?), and a bunch of the soups. All were very happy with the food. Service was a bit cold and awkward, but very effectively followed a dine in restaurant script. We were given details on specials, our drinks were refilled regularly, we were checked on, and so on. Problem was the pushiness with which we were constantly presented(pestered) with up sell add ons. Not really pleased by this. Seating throughout was pretty crowded, but not impossibly so. The price to pay is awesome for the quality of food you get. That’s the only reason I come back.

Great location, great staff, cozy place and good food. I never had an amazing dish for lunch, but their dishes are usually good enough and I love the deserts. My opinion: — Macaroni & Cheese(good, but not very tasty) — Beef Bourguignon(good, but I always order Homestyle Mashed Potatoes on the side) — Banana bread pudding with dark chocolate(Amazing! This dessert always makes me return to Burgoo).
