Horrible place. Terrible attitude and ignorance. So many great stores in the area. I would highly recommend bypassing this craps hole.

Small hole-in-the-wall bookstore located on Bloor Street West, near the Annex. Besides books, the store also carries clothes and other home crafts that are sold by the entrance. Prices tend to be steep for old books compared to other bookstores I’ve shopped at on Yonge Street, but it’s worth a look if you’re looking for a rare or hard to find book.

Willow Books reopened a while back at 333 Bloor Street West(wedged in right next to the Bata Shoe Museum). Upstairs is more or less what you’d expect: a medium-sized used bookstore with quite a decent selection. Downstairs is essentially a permanent garage sale: racks of clothing and a whole room of bargain books! It’s a bit chaotic at times, but well worth having a look through. Now, the store is kind of devoid of natural light, which can make it feel mildly claustrophobic; some of the employees are friendlier than others; and if my experiences are any indication, attempts at keeping track of customers’ store credit are almost irreparably disorganised.(I had to direct one employee to the shelf, to the notebook, and to the page where my name was written — and even then he couldn’t make sense of what another employee had written there!) But these are pretty minor reservations, and Willow Books is very decent otherwise. Keep a lookout for their sales, too!
