It’s the paint that will keep me coming back but the people are rude. They started out by telling me, «you’re a little late in the season to be staining a deck». Granted, yes, it’s a little late but maybe approach it from a nicer angle. It’s 24 degrees out today, try and do your best to finish ASAP because it won’t apply well in humid or cold weather. What would you like me to do? Leave the wood out in the weather exposed all winter? I’m nearly done. I just found the people to be self righteous know-it-alls. I’ve worked pro retail for 10 years and I don’t treat my clients like they’re idiots.

Never in my life have we been treated so rudely. I came in with my elderly father who has an accent– and the sales lady spoke to us with utter disdain when he did not pronounce the word«caulk» to her liking. Its as if she had never helped anybody with an accent before. What POOR Customer Service. She bordered on BULLYING they way she spoke to him… and continued in her sour mood throughout our time in the store– every time he spoke she gave a look of disgust.
Its one thing to not understand someone and to say«sorry sir, can you repeat that?» We have ALL been there. But to respond to an ELDERLY gentleman, who is spending his money in your store, by RAISING your voice –and shouting” I just don’t undertsand you– I don’t know what you want”. Perhaps kindness and goodness are lost on this person… and BASIC common sense. If you were to THINK for one second.,…“What could someone want in paint store? «Maybe I should list some items for him». That is good customer service. And by the way– raising your voice does not help– as he is not deaf. But rather has two degrees and speaks 5 languages– you try not having an accent when you have moved half way across the world to avoid wars and death. What disrespect and poor representation of Canada– which is supposed to be such a nice country. My poor father was quiet on the way and sad to have been treated that way. IF you are elderly or have an accent– BEWARE of the sales lady in this store– she only speaks kindly to Canadians with perfect English. We will NEVER return.

DONOT purchase furniture from this store!!! It appears they do not stand by their product. I purchased chairs here in Nov 2012 and by June they were not holding up well at all! The seats were losing their shape. I emailed both store owner AND designer inquiring about warranty(as a store rep suggested I do)…2 wks later… no reply. Also, their website states: carry-outs??? They like to spoil and will assist customers carry purchases to their car!!! Um, no. I moved my own chairs and struggled to fit them in my car as the store rep watched. I should have paid attention to the warning signs. I will no longer support this business. Terrible.

These guys are a great local paint/wallpaper/etc. store. I’ve come to them for a number of projects over the years, and they’ve been helpful and given good advice. In fact, I had a custom colour made here once to match some old paint; when I needed to repaint in the same colour a few years later, they still had the formula in their computer records, and I was able to match it with no problem. West Toronto Paint is right on the corner of Dundas and Pacific Ave., so while the street parking is hard to get, they do have two private spots on the sidewalk beside the building. If they’re taken, a municipal lot and a No Frills lot are by it just south of Dundas.
