I haven’t been to many group tours in general so maybe I was expecting too much of TNT Tours. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience. I went on the Algonquin Park tour in September, 2014. It was a delayed departure from Toronto at 8:30; because of the traffic, we arrived at the west gate at 1:15pm — that was 2 hours behind the schedule. During the 5-hour transit, the tour guide did not update us of the delay or the replanning of the trip until I asked. I called the TNT tours management office to address my concern, but my phone call was not answered; I guess no staff stayed in the office on Saturdays. We had a lunch break and everyone got back to the bus by 2:30pm. The bus took us to canoeing immediately after, and we stayed at the lake for an hour or so. We had to skip the scenic hike because the bus had to leave for Toronto by 5:30pm. In total, I spent 3 – 4 hours in Algonquin and the bus ride took the most of the day. I was not totally happy with the trip so I called TNT Tours to tell them about my experience. The manager who answered my phone was reasonable to talk with, but it still took me 2 phone calls before he apologized and agreed to partially refund on the trip. Indeed, there were uncontrollable factors which resulted in my unpleasant experience with TNT tours; but I believe it could have been mitigated if there were well-trained tour guides and immediate response from the office. The trip and phone calls costed me too much time; I don’t think I’d use TNT Tours’s service again.
