It sure felt like I am in Thailand when I visit Taste of Thailand Festival at Nathan Philips Square this afternoon! HOT HOT HOT!
The experience was a little disappointing as there were not too many vendors and the few food vendors were basically selling similar food: papaya salad, satay and curries, yes I know that’s Thai food, what should I expect?
The only food I found interesting is the fresh made papaya salad which the lady made to order so I can tell her to make it Thai Spicy… It was good and spicy that my friend couldn’t even handle that. so I ended up eating the whole order. But sadly for $ 5 it was smaller than the size of my fist, a little pricey!
Curry puff ($ 1) is a vegetarian treat with just potatoes inside as filling and it was not spicy at all, more like a sweetness to it.
Tapioca Drink ($ 5) with real coconutinside was refreshing… more like a dessert than a drink! If you love coconut like I do, you would enjoy that too!
I wish more vendors would participate next year! This festival really lack the spice and the energy, it just made me what to go in the shade and take a nap! Zzzzzzz
