Nothing spectacular, but a solid confectionery shop nonetheless. Prices clearly cater to the well-heeled workers of the financial district. My litmus test for candy shops is whether they carry my favourite — Rowntree’s Fruit Pastilles. Sweet Temptations does indeed, and for the not-entirely-unreasonable price of of $ 1.75. Of course, you can grab a roll of these at a Sainsbury’s in the UK for 50p, but given that they’re imported across the Atlantic, it could be a lot worse. The shop is small, but well stocked — and the staff are invariably helpful.

Three stars because while I was in there a woman was dipping her hands in the jelly bean bins. What I would like to do is post a review of her ill-mannered behaviour, but the store takes a hit for not thinking to keep open bins close to the cash register to discourage people from sampling with their icky hands. Unfortunate, because there’s a nice selection of candy, and the woman behind the counter was helpful and sympathetic about my futile quest to find Haribo lemon-ginger candies. Although I didn’t find my candy, it’s a great place to find childhood favourites, imported treats and mini chocolate bars to keep in your desk for emergencies. And they gift wrap! A little hard to find the first time. You want to head toward the food court in the exchange tower(the unimaginatively named«food exchange»), walk through it until you spot the booster juice around the corner, then walk past that and turn right. It’s a dark exterior with red neon lighting for the store name. After all that you will feel like you’ve earned some candy. A pleasant surprise to find prices were reasonable. Sheesh! I’ll give them 4 stars. It’s not their fault someone didn’t raise that woman right. Stick with the packaged stuff.

Located in the PATH, pretty close to the new Lindt store. Tiny little candy shop with an entire wall dedicated to loose candy — grab a scoop and shovel away! They have a pretty good variety of jelly bellies, bonbons, and gummies, and also quite a good deal of imported European/British candies. Great selection and very convenient location.
