This place is a rip off! Do not buy any deals you find for this place of business. I bought an online deal for this place in January 2014 for unlimited laser hair removal for one year. I went in for my initial treament shortly after my purchase, and that went well. It’s all been downhill from there. They then said that their laser machine«went down» and postponed all their laser treatments until they were able to clear their machine from customs at the border which lasted about 6 months. During this«delay» though I did notice that they were posting more laser deals through various online«groupon-type» websites. I finally received by 2nd treament in JULY! Two days after my treatment, I had severe scabbing and itchiness to both my lower legs where I had the laser hair removal procedure done. Regardless, I was tied into this deal, so I showed up today for what would have been my 3rd treatment. Which, by the way, was confirmed via email 2 days ago! I showed up 10 minutes prior to my appoiment time(which is 20 minutes after they supposedly open). The doors were locked. Tried knocking, but no one answered. I tried calling, but again no one answered and their voicemail inbox is of course full as well. Tried logging onto their website, which is now longer up! Tried knocking on their dorrs BEWAREOFTHISBUSINESS. ITIS A COMPLETERIPOFF! There is a sign on their door for a new business called«em Beauty Bar» and if this is being managed by the same people at Skinful Med Spa. then consider yourself warned!

Shock! Received notice yesterday that the company has folded(less than10 hours before my appt, and after receiving a confirmation of my appt, no less). They STILL have an ongoing teambuy promotion too. A ridiculous experience all around. Beware.

STAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACE!!! This place is horrible and should be shut down. I suffered 1st and 2nd degree burns from laser hair removal services performed there and have extensive scarring all over. They have done absolutely nothing to try to help fade the scars, which will take at least a year to fade, if they fade at all. When I called to complain that I had been burned I was quickly rushed off the phone with a promise of a return call that never came. When I did speak with them their response was«These things happen». They are amateurs and are unqualified to perform the services they advertise. From the moment you walk in it’s chaos and no one has a clue what they’re are doing. If you’re thinking that you’ll disregard the negative reviews on the off chance your experience might be different with them, note that there are no positive reviews on here. We can’t all be wrong about this place. If you value your skin and money go somewhere else and tell all that you know to stay far away from this place.

I have been to this spa twice now. The first time I went in for the cool sculpting back in February. I went in for the consultation. The girl there explained everything to me in regards to the process and when I should expect seeing the results. They booked me in that week and the service was great. Well 2 months later my waistline is slimmer, it was exactly what they promised. The experience with was great. Hope to do another area soon. Since I had a good experience the first time, I decided to book in a micro for my mom and I this past Saturday. My mom and I both had a pleasant experience. They were on time and the girls at the friend were sweet. The technician was professional and knew what she was doing. My mom has booked an appointment in June for more treatments. We are happy with the service there. Keep up the great job ladies.

I booked an appointment with this spa for the first time last week and was very worried because I ended up reading reviews right before I went in. I even hessitated showing up to my appointment… A few things, the staff is very friendly and professional and yes the girls look like Barbies which is the way they should look in any place that focuses on beauty. I feel better going into a place where the staff looks good, with flawless skin, and nice natural looking makeup. What’s wrong with that? As far as the consultation someone mentioned above, so what? Yes they do sit you down and go over some recommendations and I was happy to learn about things that can improve my skin. In fact some of the things I had inquired about, I was told I don’t need. They were not trying to sell me on things that did not feel was a good fit for me. The lady(I forgot her name now, Natalie maybe) that sat down with me and even complemented my skin and makeup. When you buy vouchers from places like Groupon(which I did not do, I bought different services), you are paying fraction of the price and of course the business will try to upsell you. Most business make no money and even lose money when they run such deals and use it to attract customers so they can offer their services at full price. You should really take that into consideration any time you buy such a deal. No business runs by offering things dirt cheap to be «nice». Personally I am happy to learn about all the services they offer(and I can decide to use them or not), nothing wrong with that, its a good marketing strategy. Anyway, everything worked out for me and I was very happy with my services(I purchased a few different things and got a free microdermabration as a bonus). I am happy to go back. PS I rarely write reviews, but really felt the need here to boost this businesses rep up because it does not deserve such harsh reviews. However, this was my own experience. Give it a try.

I’ve been debating writing this review because the ladies who work here were all really friendly. I also don’t want the owner to publicly comment just because I don’t like creating drama and drawing attention to myself, but honestly, I’ve been stewing about this for a couple of days now. And if I can warn others about wasting their hard earned money on a stupid«deal» here, then it’s worth it. I purchased a Buytopia voucher for what I thought was going to be a 60-minute microdermabrasion facial at Skinful Med Spa. I was hoping to use this as an opportunity to see if microdermabrasion made any difference to my skin, and was potentially going to return back to this company for more treatments if the results were good. Unfortunately, the«60-minute microdermabrasion facial» consisted of a 30-minute sales pitch where they sit you in a room and go over a catalog with you of over-priced products that will help target your areas of concern(which they consider a «consultation») and approximately 2 – 3 minutes of actually using the microdermabrasion machine plus some half-assed rubbing of lotion on my face. The lady doing my service didn’t even remove my eye makeup, and proceeded to put wet cotton balls over them, so when the service was over, I had raccoon eyes. Now I obviously wasn’t expecting immediate, drastic results with this treatment, but I don’t even feel like I was actually given the treatment to begin with! So it’s hard to tell if it worked/will work. What I really think is unfair, is to mislead customers into thinking they’re getting something they’re not — even if it is a Buytopia deal. This is considered FALSEADVERTISING. If you advertise a 60 minute facial, I expect a 60 minute facial. If it had been advertised as: 30 minute consultation/sales-pitch + 2 minutes of using the microdermabrasion machine + rubbing lotion on my face, I certainty would have saved my money. I have also contacted Buytopia about this experience and hold them partially at blame for selling these misleading vouchers. They should ensure the businesses they deal with are providing accurate descriptions of the services/products that are being advertised. An $ 80 value? Please. It was an insult to even pay the $ 19 I paid. I still tipped the aesthetician $ 5, because I felt sorry for her. You could tell she was just doing her job, told in advance that I was buytopia customer and to do it quick. Such a shame because like I mentioned earlier, I am looking for a place to start getting regular facials/peels…too bad I couldn’t find it here! I just hope to god that the services here aren’t as bad for the poor people who are paying full price.

I scheduled a 30 min microdermabrasion to improve my skin. However a few nights before I had a bad breakout and I called more than 24 hours in advance to reschedule my appointment because unfortunately my skin was very raw and I couldn’t imagine getting the treatment done. They told me to come anyway and they would just do my «consultation». Well I went, and of course they disregarded the fact I felt uncomfortable doing the treatment and told me to do it anyway. I had to sit through the«skin type consultation» that was really a sales session where I had to watch a woman talk about her product catalogue. She pointed at my freckles that I’ve had since I was a child and called them sun damage and told me I needed to wear sunscreen daily. Then when I finally went in for the treatment the lady told me I had horrible makeup and said whoever helped me pick out that colour was not a professional, she held up a mirror to my face and told me to look how bad it was and said I looked«silly». She said she hoped I didn’t pay for that makeup. On bad skin days my makeup looks off-colour because I have an acne problem and the combination of flaky and oily skin actually changes my foundation colour to an orangey tone as it sits on my face. It’s called makeup oxidation and unfortunately it happens to people sometimes. I ALREADYKNOW it’s unattractive, that’s why I was at a skin spa. It just seemed like a tactic she was using to appear experienced and make me feel insecure so I would buy more services or products. I thought I was going to a spa to relax and start to feel better about myself, then she held a mirror to my face and told me to stare at my «silly» makeup. Then for the entire 30 minute microdermabrasion session she tried to sell me her miracle aloe vera juice. I have had acne for 13 years, tried a million and one solutions, and she really tried to convince me that her magic juice is the missing puzzle piece to curing my skin. It was so insulting. I would never go back. I feel bad for anyone who puts themselves in that vulnerable position and has to deal with those women. This is not a spa, it‘s a ground for money hungry sales people to badger you with their products, the microdermabrasion was just an after-thought. I bought 2 treatments through Groupon and got a refund.
