Their bagelwichs taste pretty good. But expensive compared to other options around the financial district. However, today the service was horrific. The lady gave me attitude and gave me the wrong order and still claims it’s the«bagelwich». Only ordered one thing and she still gets the order wrong. Not returning to this particular Michel’s.

Michel’s been pretty consistent over the years. I remember when they along with Cultures, Druxy’s and Mmmmuffins were the main places to go for breads, croissants, muffins etc. It’s good to see that most of their locations are still around. The leek and cheese croissant has been replaced but the cheese knot is still around and as fresh and yummy as ever. Prices are reasonable depending on what you order, Union Station location appears to have the best selection.

A co-worker had brought in a box of croissants and danishes one morning — I was so sad to only get around to it late in the afternoon(fat kid symptom #1: delayed eating depression). luckily I was able to still get my hands on half a danish. I was fully expecting it to be half stale as the box had been sitting open all day but holy smokes this was the freshest danish I’ve had in a while. HOW? soft, buttery, with a cheese & jam filling that ran through the whole pastry. I promptly scarfed down the rest of that afternoon heaven at my desk, like no one was watching. I really hope no one was watching.(fat kid symptom #2: eating quickly so no one can take it from you!) I think this is going to be my first stop tomorrow morning. yup.(fat kid symptom #3: anticipating the next day’s meal) haters gonna hate.

I pickup breakfast every so often when I’m in the TD center. There are of course many places one can go to. This is definitely a place in which the food is VERY expensive compared to the quality of the food you get and service. If you want to order a tuna melt and a salad your looking at least $ 10. Although the food was decent it definitely not worth eating there. Try LePrep’s in 66 or 79 Wellington TD centers. Its a little better than this place and the service is generally decent.

I stop in here at least twice a month for breakfast. There are so many places to grab breakfast in the underground and this spot invariably ends up in the rotation. My usual is the breakfast croissantwich — egg, cheese, ham, lettuce and tomato on a toasted croissant. It’s actually quite tasty and they have a good selection of toppings to finish off your sandwich with. Of course, you can have your sandwich on a bagel, toast, whatever… I just prefer the buttery goodness of the croissant. They also have plenty of pastries — muffins, cookies, croissants… the usual. Breakfast, however, is not their only offering… they have soups and other lunch fare on their menu, though truthfully, I’ve only ever had breakfast here. The good is good, but it’s by no means spectacular, plus the service is S-U-P-E-R S-L-O-W…so if you’re in a rush… I wouldn’t recommend you visit this spot. Their prices are relatively cheap, but you can find cheaper in the underground. The place is clean, and they have plenty of seating, should you decide to eat in.

The pastries here ARE delicious. I particularly like the apple-cheese danish, as well as the cheese stick. Crispy, crumbly, and buttery. For a chain, they really are quite good. Their croissants are good too… buttery and flaky, but perhaps a bit crunchier than I would like. The original is good, but the cheese croissant is very good. Almond croissant is just so-so. I am not a fan of the type of almond paste they use in the filling, but I’d still eat it!
