Great spot to grab a coffee that isn’t Starbucks. Beautiful lighting and colours inside which go nicely with the idea of drinking coffee. Nice seating and it’s on the sunny side of the street so you can even stand out front and drink your coffee and enjoy the rays. I had a latte and croissant and they were quite good. I’ll be back again for sure.

Manic is currently my favourite coffee spot in the city, partially because it’s oh so conveniently located around the corner from my house, but more so because it ticks all the boxes that a good coffee spot should. Bright, sunny, and well-laid out with the kind of décor that makes you want to stay a while, super friendly baristas, tasty baked goods(try the breakfast cookie!) and a dynamite latte. Considered deducting a star because there’s no wifi available, but this can actually be a bit of a blessing, as it’s one of the few places I can go with a friend during laptop-student rush hour and find seats/have a loud-ish conversation sans guilt. Can’t wait to come back in the summer and try the gelato

Still a 4 star place for coffee. It’s kinda busy — didn’t try the food, but my $ 4 drinks were pretty good. I also like that they sell/stock Intelligentsia.

One of my favorite coffee shops in Toronto. They serve a fantastic flat white — perfectly steamed milk to a velvet consistency, and a strong espresso flavor, not overpowering. Apparently hard to come by a perfect cup, but Manic gets it right. They also serve really tasty gelato. The flavours are rotated every couple days, so there’s something new to try each time I visit. I recommend the espresso flavour,(ofcourse) black sesame, and red bean. Love this place to bits, just wish they had wifi and AC in the summer!

Manic is by far my favorite coffee shop in Toronto. Expertly crafted drinks, plenty of beautiful, glossy woodblock tables for seating and a friendly staff of baristas. Tucked away in a string of shops along College Street, Manic offers a selection of espresso-based drinks and pour-overs(Intelligentsia beans) with a few different baked goods, house-made gelato and vegan sorbet. When I come, it’s either a cappuccino or a cortado. Thick espresso layered with rich foamed milk, amazing! And with the morning sunlight warming the shop’s interior while the crowds rush by, I can’t think of a better way to start the morning.

When I lived in the area this was my go-to coffee place. Super relaxed chill vibe and usually filled with interesting creative people. Whenever I meet a friend for coffee I always suggest this place! They have a great array of coffees, teas, and treats, And they even have a clover machine! However, they do not have wifi but I kind of like that about this place. That way you don’t get people staying for 8 hours straight, taking up a seat and just buying one thing for every 3 hours. This place is also a great place for a first coffee date, because if things go well you can move next door to Nirvana for some sangria or across the street to Sneaky Dee’s for some dancing upstairs! All in all writing this makes me want to go back for my morning chocolate croissant.

Came here on a Sunday late afternoon, there were a lot of tables available. The staff were ok, not super friendly but not bad either. Minimal décor with nice wooden tables and chairs and was very spacious. It was not very loud — great place to chat and we ended up staying there for over an hour. Got the iced lychee tea — the loose tea was steeped in a french press then topped with ice. It wasn’t served really cold since it was just made but it was still refreshing and had good tea flavour(not much lychee) but still good. The latte that my friend got looked really good, foamy and had a pretty pattern on top. We shared a cherry danish — it wasn’t very sweet which was good with lots of cherry and a light layer of cheese, the pastry itself could have been crispier but it was still really good nonetheless.

I had read quite a bit about this spot before visiting though it was the second choice on the bookmarked spots. The first one had to be skipped as they had no AC on a very hot day. The place is nice and clean and even offered gelato/sorbet. I tried the black currant and it was decent especially on a nice hot day. On to the cappuccino Here is the verdict for the cappuccino Espresso: Medium Crema’: Good Milk: Frothed well Latte Art: Good. A decent cappuccino though I prefer a bold taste. 3.5 stars I will be back if I am in the area.

A cosy coffee shop with friendly staff and decent prices. We had some cappuccinos and a chai latte. Do try the Gelato — They have a very fine selection and serve generously. This is a great place to catch up with friends. Food: 4⁄5 Ambience: 4⁄5 Service: 4⁄5

One of my favourite coffee shops in Toronto! Chill vibe and great coffee. One thing to note is they don’t have wifi. I actually don’t mind, and I make a point of coming here when I need to get some work done and I know the internet will just distract me.

The ambiance is refreshing, there’s always new artwork on the walls. the espresso based drinks are one of the best in town, and also like the snacks they sell. they even serve salads and wraps that look healthy if you want to change from the butter-based goodies. I also like the small tables and that there is no internet.

Oh Manic. You are one of my absolute favourite coffee places in Toronto. There’s a wide selection of espresso-based coffee, and some gelato too! My favourite combination is a latte with Madagascar vanilla gelato. Try it!

Had a latte here and it’s more of a flat white than a latte to be honest. Kind of heavy on the espresso, or maybe I’m so used to lattes being coffee-flavoured hot milk. Who knows. The barista was friendly and gave me a little loyalty card but I haven’t been back so it just sits in my wallet like an unused souvenir mug. Atmosphere is like most coffee shops — wooden tables with lots of natural light spilling through the windows.

I dislike this place, for one reason. The pretentious, too-cool-for-school(but they AREN’T) demeanor made them unable to appreciate, how crazy and cool it is, that someone as crazy and or cool as me, with the name MANIK was drinking their coffee. They had zero reaction, to my amazing banter. I will stick to entertaining strangers, women, sickos, and the common folk instead. P.S. [I AMMANIKCOFFEE.] I gave you your namesake. More or less. Basically. Pretty much. Okay not really. I May as well have! Leave me alone! And I will be back. But this time, I will ensure you truly understand what [Mania] is. Haha /just kidding. Honestly though you make me sick. The real rating is between(16⁄27 sandwiches and eleventy-billion dollars).

Love coming back to this place every time I visit Kensington since it’s pretty close-by. I had the apple cider this time, but their lattes are also great! It’s always busy but wasn’t too hard to find a space to chat. Seems that customers are a mix of people who are working away on their laptops and others having chats. Love the bright & energetic atmosphere!

Great location. Easily accessible by ttc. Very friendly service. Pricing is very fair for their drip coffee which has a nice flavour for a pick me up! Duely note they don’t have wifi so come with a paper or a book! I like there self serve water dispenser, a very nice touch!

Was a tiny bit disappointed in my Americano yesterday. It may be my fault for ordering a ‘large’ Americano before clarifying with the barista what exactly a large meant, It was a very large cup and ended up being a super diluted Americano, barely tasted the espresso! Would give it another chance though and try a small next time. I saw try also have gelato with unique flavours like Earl Grey tea, will be back to try this!

Coming from the Westcoast, we really enjoy our small, non-franchised coffee establishments. I love the vibe of Manic Coffee. It reminds me of a few spots in Vancouver that I loved to frequent. Always great service from the barista and staff taking payments. Delicious coffee with no after taste. Be sure to ask for soy or lactose-free at the time of ordering. They also sell gelato! Make sure you get some.

went here in my hunt for an amazing latter art inside my cup. but I ended up in an ice cream heaven! somehow I totally missed that on their website and it came as a total surprise that they make their own ice cream and the flavors… omg the flavors… are to die for! ok so they have flavors like: earl grey roasted banana strawberry-lychee chai tea salted chocolate sesame and oh so many more that I couldn’t remember. but the big secret is that chai latte ice cream is the best=) so I did end up getting a cup of cappuccino and it did have a cute simple latte art on it. but oh the ice cream is probably what will bring me back here again!

You have Intelligentsia coffee. I know I’m supposed to care. I just don’t. I drink coffee for caffeine and can tell if it’s horrible, but I just don’t give a woe. Manic is adorable and has tasty and cheap paninis(I’m partial to the chicken and cheese) and a rainbow of gelato flavours. It’s also conveniently located at the corner of College and Bathurst, which I’ve always sort of thought of Toronto’s coming of age corner. Like you’re finishing college and moving west to biggest and nicer apartments. Philosophical waxing aside, if you like Intelligentsia you are going to like this place… you also pay too much for coffee. PEPPER’S PISSED about the lack of free wifi. In this age of tethering you’re not keeping us laptop people from staying, you’re just making us grumble a bit.
