When you have for breakfast taquitos you bought yesterday afternoon and they still taste delicious, is when you realize you finally found your perfect munchies/​home sick joint, which flavours would cause tears of joy, mmmss, constant attendance, and kinky thoughts of going back a day after…
La mexicana moved one establishment from where it was originally located. I like the improvements they made: violet colour in the walls, sombreros, chapulines, organic tostadas, Mexican teas, herbs, but the food… the food they sell have a Mexican home made label.
I bought one order of carnitas tacos to go one week ago; the husband and me, well we both agreed without speaking that they were moist, with the characteristical «garnachas» tortilla; just exuding the exquisite grandmother seasoning homemade style.
Also, in one of those days when you worked extra hours, and the feeling of deserving a good rich meal just by moving a finger invades you: call to La Mexicana, ask what food they have, order ahead and pick up.
I’ve tried green pozole; carnitas tacos; bistec tacos; potatoe fried tacos; chilorio tacos, and chorizo tacos. Everything was nice, and they gave me enough salsa and free totopos!!!
The only problem I have is that while in there, some other Mexican products always call my name and made their way into my groceries…
