This place is legendary. You can come here completely sober and have a blast, marveling at the incredible experience of human life. You’ll see people from all walks of life, with all different state of minds, all dancing together to bizarrely beautiful dark dance music in a dark basement. It might not be for you, but it’s an experience in itself that would, at the very least, be eye-opening. The music will never die.

If you like house music and you haven’t been here don’t be a wimp. Yeah it’s sketchy but it’s legendary too. In my experience the music quality varies wildly and that’s the main problem. Just don’t pick a fight with anyone here you might die. it’s definitely a coming of age ritual for fans of dance music to lose their minds to some beats here at crazy hours. If it was run by people with some more taste it would be Toronto Berghain but instead it is somewhat dated. They stick to what they know and try to keep the old crowd around. Still worth it for the history.

Eeeek. This place gives me the CREEPS. One thing that is absolutely amazing is the music !!! But frankly I don’t think it’s worth the sketchy vibes. i’ve only been a handful of times and every time gets weirder, just fostering a bunch of bad habits and lost people. My very first visit I watched a guy G out by the pool table and nobody was helping him, he puked all over himself and the floor and people walked right over it like nothing happened. 3 whole hours before security did something. It was beyond messed up to witness. I ended up spending most of my night outside to escape the hole that it is. But found myself in an even bigger sketchfest when nobody was able to hold any sort of a functional conversation. I shouldn’t judge but, I’m definitely judging. It’s a great after hours if you like doing lots of drugs with other drugged out people and jam to awesome music. There’s a lot of great dancers there. Also many people wear costumes. Also never let your drink out of site, someone will try to fuck with you fosho

When you enter, you can never leave. You walk into a deep dark neon lit forest and fall into a hole; You fall, but you are not falling. You are in the zone. The inceptic field pulls your very soul. You die. But you live. You live a neon life of living love. Napkins? Yes. OGasians dance closely with them. Ever so closely. Bring your mom. And your dad. Should be open every day of the week.

You haven’t partied in Toronto until you experience the Zone on a Sunday afternoon. Seriously if you have never been make it a point to go there once in your life and do it at noon on a Sunday to take in the raging 2 day party that will make you marvel at how the place remains legally open after all these years. Clubbers who have been up for days dancing like zombies, ear splitting techno music, people lying on the floor and so many stains on the walls, floors and pool table that it makes a back alley seem pristine. 5 stars for being such a unique experience and kudos for allowing me to witness bleary eyed ravers stumbling out of there on a Monday morning as I pass by in my car on the way to work. Pro tip: Be prepared to burn the shoes you wore to Zone especially if you have to brave the backed up toilet flooded washroom.

This place is still open? This where all the ravers would go on Sunday after the Saturday night party. The way I remember it, it got good around 4pm. So my friends and I would sleep all day and then head over around that time. There was no alcohol in there either. That is probably how they get away operating such odd hours. Anyway, unless you are on drugs or your friends are on drugs, I really see no reason to be here. If you really want to dance during the day join a gym. Otherwise this place is a total sketchpad.

How do I even begin… This place is like a sweaty armpit. Its so cramped, very repetitive music is always playing. I think its called trap house music? And also they play jungle beats… This is so not my style, but have to try everything once right? Definitely was quite the experience, it was super hot in there and was jam packed with people. I was personally sweating buckets, and to the looks of it everyone else was too, I think it also serves as a sauna. Anywho, check this place out if your into this sort of thing, best part about this place is probably the fact that its an after hours club. So if you got the urge to continue partying the night away after all the clubs have closed, give this place a shot… But please let it be only that reason, otherwise you will be seriously dsiappointed.

If you love house music this is your place. Crazy sick music, unbelievable, best in the world. The place is a not fancy, it is dark but the music makes up for it. If you can catch De-Koze on a Sunday morning. You won’t regret it. This place is not for the timid.

I usually end up here around 4am, usually never remember how or when I got there. The only recollections I usually have are a green wristband on my arm that says«I heart CZ» I’m still alive, so 4 stars.

Simply the best after hours party there is downtown. That’s not saying much since there are FEW afterhours. Technically I would give this an a-ok– but it gets a boost since it really is the only club, except for the Guv that will TRULY stay open until dawn. There are only a handful of afterhours– Film(possibly closed now), Footwork, Guv, and this place. Film is closed, I think(and sketch– read my review–( ) Footwork is THEBEST but closes at likt…5−6am depending on the DJ/night( ) The Guv is just too warehouse-like. I like smaller dungeons to get my dance on:( ) So that leaves Comfort Zone. Now let me tell you more details: The good: –They have the notorious sunset to sunrise parties– so dance until it’s light outside– and you won’t even know it unless you go outside to take a breather or a smoke in the pit in the back. –People dance. There are places where people don’t properly dance– but you will get some legit dancers here. –It’s a small basement place– they have the main dance floor, and a few loungey areas in the corners– the space is cut up really well and intelligently to make sure that people don’t mosh in one big pit– which can get dangerous. The meh: –The sound system. I think once upon a time when CZ was THE place back in the day the sound system used to be amazing. but I think as other places have updated their systems… CZ hasn’t. It doesn’t reach all the depths of the room– but that’s ok b/c sometimes I just like to chill in the back and chat with friends. –The bouncers: I personally only had good experiences with the bouncers– think they are nice and just doing their job– which is to be not particularly nice to some of the drunk/high RUDE people. But many people have stated here that the bouncers are rough and mean. I think that if they are rough and mean to you– you might deserve it.. just sayin… –You have to be careful with some people here… you know what I’m talking about. there are some people here that can get violent depending on what they are on… but a lot of people are just nice and wanna dance. The Bad: –Picking up on the last point. this is the only afterhours where there will be MORE«hard-drugs» than soft drugs. Meaning that I have never been offered more illicit substances(and consequently had to lecture people about how bad it is for them) in my life than here… CZ attracts the ones who take a variety of substances… and it is more abundant here than any other after-hours.(Footwork will have e, M and maybe weed, alcohol fuelling the night) — the Guv will have a range but not more one drug than anything else. CZ… will have the sketchiest stuff… blow, heroine, crystal meth… and on most nights I’m assuming you will see what I see — someone REQUIRING resuscitation… (please PLEASEDON’T BETHATPERSON!!!) –Due to the nature of some of the substances here… people can act out and even their dancing might like. interfere with your space/or dance bubble. There are people who have knocked into me kind of in a harsh way because they were in their dance-zone and aren’t mindful of their space. –Like the Guv and Film– this can become a pickup scene. and it just gets kind of gross. unless you’re into that. I’m not. In fact, Footwork is the only place where people are just plain nice, no hidden intentions. Guv, Film, and CZ, people WILL ask for your number and kind of get physical in your space if they want to dance with you. which is not cool– BUT it’s not as bad as any entertainment club-dist club. So bear that in mind. Plain and simple– the bads aren’t even really bad as long as you are somewhat sober, you stay safe and keep to familiar people. Yes, it’s sketchy… but to be honest, I feel safer here than I would at any frat-type establishment i.e. Bruswick or Madison. Yeah, it’s like. «drug-sketch” — but it’s not«White masculinity waiting to unleash their raping– intentions on you)

They definantly cleaned the place up since I last visited a few years back. Went there for a metal show and it was pretty good with sound and all that. Security was courteous but staff tending the bar seemed indifferent to the customers. We played a game of pool and one of the balls didn’t make it out to complete the set and we asked one staff members to help and all he did was laugh and look completely oblivious to the situation. This place is nothing special but at least they have pool tables!

The best music ever. The DJs are amazing. The atmosphere is amazing. It’s so comfortable, and fun. Everyone is there to have a good time and to dance like crazy. Sunday mornings are the best day to go, 4 am til about noon, you will not hear better music elsewhere. Some amazing DJs, Dekoze, Ticky Ty, Jayforce … those are the ones that stand out to me but there are many others. It is nothing like other clubs or bars or lounges or whatever. After experiencing quite a few other clubs in the city, I still find myself here whenever I want to dance!

Step inside the doors of this gritty music scene landmark, and you’ll never feel the same way about the bars that try to simulate the concept of a dive bar again. This is the real deal, and if the crowd looks rough, it’s because they’ve all been watching shows here for the past 58 years. Saunter up to the bar, grab a pint of 50, lean back and prepare to have your world rocked.

Hit Church Sunday night for the first time in a little while and was not disappointed by any means. Prior to hitting it up I attended the Beats Ahoy boat cruise which was amazing, and Reign where Addy’s b-day celebrations were rampant. No matter where I go hover, nothing quite compares to Zone. The quality of music is always so good that I really question why I go anywhere else. I got there in time to see arguably my fav DJ Carlio smash it, followed by Kabuto of Costa Rica’s prized Kabuto & Koji, who equally smashed it. It appears to me that Zone is entertaining more and more international DJ’s these days which says a lot for the venue. Any haters must be deaf, or there simply going there for the wrong reasons. There is no place like Zone.

This place is unbelievably sketchy. Even just walking past it is terrifying, and everyone knew that before there was that huge drug raid a couple months ago. I’m not going to blame the proximity to CAMH(Centre for Addiction and Mental Health) but it seems like the Comfort Zone operates solely to undo all the work that CAMH has done. Not only should you not go inside, but you should walk on the other side of the street on your way home late at night. I’m shuddering just thinking about it.

The Comfort Zone is the dirtiest after hours in the city. There is nothing sketchier than seeing some club kid stumble out of there at noon on a Sunday. This is where you go when it’s 6am and the Guvernment is shutting down but you still want to dance dance dance. Yeah right. I’ve only been a handful of times and each time I’ve seen something screwed up enough to vow never to go back. Although it’s a legal joint(i.e. it doesn’t serve booze), the bouncers are rough like a boozecan and the people are the weirdest assortment of club kids, crackheads and just total weirdos. Having said that, sometimes good DJs do late night bookings after their regular gigs there and the music can be pretty decent. As a rule of thumb though, just go home. IF the club is closing, it’s time for bed.

Party hard. Line up sparkling Saturday night, get dirty and go bonk, see warm daylight again on Monday. Deeply absorbing electronic music for the open minded cash flowing bull riding sniper. That makes a normal outing to this Comfort Zone. Known throughout the world. Why? I don’t know but I see tourists taking photos in front of the place. Located conveniently below ground near a major intersection, near a 24 hour convenience store, near fast food and a mental health and addiction centre.
