Bloor Christie Medical Centre

I went to this walk in clinic since it was nearby in my neighbourhood but I will not be going back. The wait wasn’t any longer than usual and I had a few tests done. My first time through it seemed perfectly normal but my follow up visit was ridiculous.
A few days later I get a call from the receptionist informing me that my test results were in and I needed to come in that day. I rushed over thinking the worst only to to wait for 4 hours in the waiting room. The clinic had already been open for an hour but the doctor hadn’t even shown up yet. He eventually showed up 2 hours after the clinic was open.
When I finally got in, the doctor didn’t have my files and had no idea why I had been called. After a few minutes of searching he came back and said nothing had shown up on my test results and also didn’t understand why the previous doctor had ordered any of the previous tests. He then asked me to take a pregnancy test, said stranger things could happen and left me alone for 30 minutes. Pretty sure he forgot about me and then came back later and asked if I was looking for a family doctor. Super waste of my afternoon to find out everything was fine. The doctor’s office at Bay and Bloor is way better than this clinic.

My girlfriend and i both just moved to toronto and needed a doctor. This place is close to home and open on weekends. The doctor was friendly and professional. The only downside is the 1^st floor when you walk in smells like a toilet. But once on the 3^rd floor where the clinic is then its fine.

I recognize that I am reviewing an entire medical centre, but people should know that one of it’s prime spaces belongs to Dr. Gillian Allen, should be totally avoided.
It’s hard to find a doctor in Toronto — especially female, and in that particular neighbourhood. I thought I scored big when I discovered she accepted new patients. Upon my first visit she was really helpful and listened to all of my concerns. She seemed great because she was also down with alternative forms of medicine «don’t ever take iron prescription pills, they create organ issues. Instead eat more currants and raisins!»
Then came my second visit. She did an entire physical. I also have something that needs to be watched once a year. She arranged for that to be screened as well. Everything went swimmingly… that is until I wanted my RESULTS!
She literally dropped off the fucking face of the earth. Her «receptionist» for months said she didn’t know where she was. «Is she sick? Is she on vacation? Is she dead in a fucking ditch? What the hell is going on?!» I kept calling and finally I demanded that I have my results over the phone. She said fine but couldn’t really read them. She said the *thinks* everything is normal. Thinks? Sorry, that’s not good enough. Eventually they replaced her with a man, so fucking OLD he was bent right over. Standing up, he was half his size. He had to have been out of retirement. Definitely in his 80’s. Either that or he was in bad fucking shape. The man was so fucking useless I stormed out of the office swearing never to return.
I think they gave me a call, almost a YEAR later saying she had returned at which point I just said, no thanks!
Don’t even bother with Dr. Allen, she is the sketchiest, most unprofessional doctor in town.
