Amazing corsets, if you’re ever in Toronto you’re welcome to go personally validate the authenticity of these products. Che is very accommodating. Not at all surprised to see some slanderous reviews. Her competitors seem to have the same garbage story, and it’s completely untrue. If you want to train your waist look no further.

Southern Belle aec. This is one of the MANY distributors for aec, you know, handmade… yea, we’ll I’m having a crap time with them. After learning that this company outright lies about its business practices, I attempted to contact owner. When owner refused to add me to product group, to prove her work was real, she was rude and defensive. When I contacted the company who provides her with the product, they informed me that they do not know all their reps as they are huge and worldwide. How are you that big, and not know your sales reps, when you supposedly HANDMAKE every item? You dont. After much research their 2 – 6 week shipping time, is actually because they order them elsewhere, replace the tag and flip it as their own. I will not do business with unethical, lying companies. They refuse to offer refunds, only exchanges within 30 days of purchase, however how can one do this if their delivery time is 6 weeks? I’m reporting this businessto the bbb, and all scam sites. I’m looking for my credit back/disputing the cost, because I do not trust this them, I work too hard in the military to pay this much to be victimized

An ethics disaster. She uses Orchard Corset stock and charges double what you’d pay at OC. Chech Nwagbo, the owner recommends corsets that are 3+ sizes too small. They lie about the products being custom-made, and they use other companies’/people’s photos and tries to pass them off as their own. If you find a corset you like there, go to Orchard Corsets and pay half the price. If you can afford a little more/better quality, try Mystic City Corsets or another brand. Google Lucy’s Corsetry – an invaluable source of information. The owner of Alter Ego is extremely rude and very deceitful. Who knows where they’re really based out of – it says Toronto, ON Canada on Unilocal, says Vietnam on their website with a phony address, but then their website map also shows their based out of the NYC empire state building, and I’ve seen at least 3 totally different phone numbers. That alone is pretty shady. The paragraph above the phony address is mostly in Latin, a dead language, and has nothing to do with the website/company at all. She does have a bunch of employees who are paid to say they are a customer who loves their Alter Ego corset. They also go by several different brand names to avoid bad reviews as much as they can. She also stole a pattern from an independent corsetiere and is using it without the rights to it. This is all well-known information in the corset community. Do yourself a huge favor and avoid Alter Ego corsets, owner Cheche Nwagbo, and her Facebook groups(Waist Training 101, Tight-lace Waist Training 101) that lie, hide valid information by immediately removing and blocking all users who mention another brand or give any information that might conflict with someone purchasing one of her corsets(even when it’s true).

At first I was happy to find a support group(FB waisttraining101) that caters to the corset life of waist training. However based on the reaction I received from Che che Nwagbo when I provided an unbiased opinion in a comment regarding another stores products, she immediately deleted my comment, removed me from the group and sent me a condescending private message, I do not recommend this company. I was under the impression that the group was an open forum to discuss topics related to waist training and corsets. I never said anything negative about her, her corsets or her page. I was unaware that the FB group waisttraining101 was ONLY used to sell and promote corsets from Alter Ego Clothing. I was open to purchase a corset from Cheche but after that display, I’m glad I chose otherwise. Confidence in your product and good customer service to a potential client can take your business far otherwise it makes for BADREVIEWS. Funny thing is there are many ladies posting complaints about her lack of communication but she sure as hell was fast to respond to my comment and remove me from the group lol.
