MUCHHECTIC, SUCHBUSY. Parking is just crazy. It doesn’t help that’s there’s people who just wait around for the cars to park -.- First thing I noticed was that the service was very slow. Granted the hubs is not aggressive in getting the waiters attention but we had reservations and no one helps us for at least 15 minutes. MIL had to step in to find someone. All I have for this place is that the service is just SOSLOW. Our food took FOREVER. It was literally one dish after another. We had to physically slow ourselves down because the food wasn’t coming out quick enough. I know it’s terrible to ask them to do have more of the dishes together as they group it based on what’s been made(ie, siu mai or rice rolls etc) but it’s just difficult to wait when you’re a starving mess. The food was okay… I didn’t think it was anything special to be honest. I agree with other reviewers in regards to the price. We had a group of 4 and the food came out to about 50 dollars with tip. Pretty filling as well! If you’re looking for an awesome deal for decent dim sum food then this is the place for you!

Now up to $ 3.28−3.98 for basic dim sum dishes, $ 7 – 8 for larger dishes. Or, in other words, A BLOODYGOODDEAL. Service is quick and professional, and yes they speak English if you’re not with your sole Chinese friend. No additional charge for tea. Short walk across the road from Lansdowne Mall. Go, go!

I came here because of a suggestion that this is a good place for cheap dim sum, but not only did I get a good deal of about $ 25USD for a party of four, the dim sum here was actually the best I had! My friend suggested this place only on the basis of its cheap price, and it is indeed cheaper than your typical dim sum place. However, I was also surprised at how good the food was despite that Good Eat was supposed to be a «value dim sum» only. Everything came out piping hot: the shrimp dumplings were juicy, the rice noodle wrap’s texture was spot-on, the chicken feet were flavored well. In other words, I had the perfect dim sum here! I can’t say if this is the best dim sum in the Greater Vancouver area because this was the only one I had, but this is definitely the best I had compared to anywhere in the world! After a meal here, I no longer think any dim sum place in Houston is even comparable to Good Eat. Maybe there are better places around Good Eat, but without making any assumption, this is an excellent place to get stellar dim sum at a low price! — NOTE: 1) Parking lot is available but it is small and can be insane. Metered street parking is an option. 2) Cash only. USD accepted though not recommended. — tl;dr version: 1) Best dim sum I ever had! 2) Ridiculously low price tag

The In-Laws wanted to come here for dinner and try it out. Good Eat is located on Leslie Road next to Kam Ho. But do not share the same parking lot. Parking at Good Eat is insane and not advised. Unless you would like to be sardined in space or have your car scratched, pay the 2 bucks for street parking. The restaurant façade wasn’t one that makes you want to rush into a relationship. So since they’ve opened back in 2012, it wasn’t until now we made our way here. Surprisingly the food was not bad. The prices are fair and portions were good. Service is friendly and attentive. Lobster Vermicelli Hot Pot 18.80: sizzling hot pot with a half lobster complete with claws. The vermicelli was on the soggier side. Had it been more al dente, it would complete this dish. Seasonal Veggies: Yam leaves were delicious and served in a hot pot with flavors of the singing chicken hot pot. Maggie Sauce tossed Black Cod: Flash fried for crispiness and lightly salty. Food was not outstanding but it was not bad. I wouldn’t mind coming back for some small stir fry dishes… it’s good to keep my options open!

Eh. Standards have dropped since the last time I was here. Food is now barely mediocre at the most. The loh mai gai didn’t taste or look all that fresh– the meat tasted off. In fact, the quality of all the meat based in the dim sum wasn’t that great. Kinda preparing for a camping trip in the bathroom later. The only things-in my opinion– that were still solid are the fried beancurd prawn wraps and the tea. But then again, it’s a dim sum place, the tea better be good. They only accept cash, so come prepared.

Another average dim sum restaurant in Richmond. The prices are now $ 2.95 per dish instead of $ 2.50. Their dim sum dishes are on the smaller side, so you get what you pay for. The lunch dishes are larger though, so if you’re looking to get your fill, you’ll be better off skipping the dim sum menu. Everything we had was average, nothing offensive, but nothing notable either. Tea is $ 1 per head.

A bit weary of the exterior, Rick and I came here for dim sum regardless because otherwise this place would remain on my wishlist forever. The interior is actually not bad, with clean tables and tableware. Also, something amazing about this restaurant is that it offers most dim sum dishes at $ 2.50! Most other restaurants in Richmond, although fancier, charge up to $ 4.99 for one. Although more of a dessert dish, the egg tarts came first. I ended up having two and a half since I was craving some fresh egg tarts. Despite it’s pale appearance, they were quite good and not overly sweet. They were quite small though, around 2 bites in size, but this resulted in a good egg filling to flaky crust ratio. The shrimp inside the shrimp rice rolls were really disappointing since they were very small and reminsicent of the ones that would normally be in fried rice. The rice rolls themselves were good though and I’d order these plain next time. We ordered the standard shrimp dumpling as well. These seemed to be doomed to be a disappointment since they were small and looked kind of soggy. Actually, they weren’t too bad, but they seemed similar to the microwaveable har gows. The tripe and tendon was also a disappointment, since I neglected to read the Chinese and we both thought it would be the thinner type. Instead, it was the honeycomb type, which I also like, but it was a bit tough. It came with a lot of tendon as well, which was alright. The seafood salad spring rolls caught our attention as well. Piping hot, these were pretty good, though there was less filling that expected. The prawns inside were once again quite small, but I enjoyed the mix of mayo and fruit. The steamed spareribs with black bean were also a disappointment. They were quite flavourless(what with them being steamed with like 5 black beans…) and quite greasy. There was nothing underneath them either — most other dim sum restaurants put taro or pumpkin. Overall, there are some cheap eats to be had. I’d probably be back not just for the name but rather for some well-priced food. The egg tarts, plain rice noodles, and spring rolls are decent, and expectations should be lower for dim sum dishes with seafood. It is only $ 2.50 after all.

Good Eat was«OK Eats» to me. I came here for dim sum with the entire family including some cousins. We were seated with a big table near the back so we had a bit more room and no one was bumping into us. The food wasn’t particularly great and I found everything to be quite average to not bad. The sui mai and har gow(steamed shrimp dumplings) were on the small side and we ended up having to order more. Note — The parking was horrendous. #30DaysOfYelp 27⁄30

Yes, parking here is a bit chaotic at times, but be patient, and you will be rewarded with good food. I’ve been here for dinner a couple of times, and I must say that this is one of the better Chinese restaurants I’ve been to. The décor is nothing fancy, but it’s the food that really stands out here. My favourite dish here is a deep fried bean curd with lots of scallions, cilantro, and doused in a sweet soy. It doesn’t sound great in words, but once you’ve tried it, you will agree with me that it’s one good vegetarian dish. Also, they have garlic ribs that aren’t like any other you’ve had. Succulent ribs, with the lightest batter, with minced garlic mixed in. Pretty amazing. For you bitter melon fans, a stir fry with olives and minced pork. The flavours mingle together so well. Portions are large and service is actually quite efficient. On the weekends, you’ll most likely need a reservation for dinner as the place is not too big. I’m looking forward to trying out their dim sum. Seems like they have something good going on, simple ingredients, with the right complements, make the food quite spectacular.\ 1⁄30; 30 Day Unilocal Challenge

Janice made me take her to Good Eat for dim sum simply because it coincidentally shares her food blog’s namesake. After checking to make sure it was legit, we were off. We both liked the inexpensive $ 2.50 a dish price point for standard menu items. My dim sum staples of steamed shrimp dumplings and steamed rice roll with shrimp were solid enough. The shrimp was basic but serviceable. Janice seemed satisfied and gobbled up two and a half of the baked egg tarts. We agreed that the deep fried spring rolls with shrimp inside was very tasty and good. Another standard dish of steamed spareribs with soya sauce was half decent. Neither of us were fans of the stewed beef tripe and its red glow(too many tendons). We ended up full and fairly satisfied with the dim sum at Good Eat. It wasn’t spectacular, but did the trick well enough despite going for the novelty of the name. I’d go back for the value.

Both the Dim Sum Lunch and Evening Dining are excellent at this restaurant. For the uninitiated, to truly appreciate the dining here maybe an acquired taste. This is definitely not the place to come for Peking duck and sweet and sour pork. However, the slow cooked special soups they have here for dinner are exceptional. The smoked ducks have been mostly excellent. The Fish Heads are always great. The seasonal seafood are mostly cooked to perfection. Right now in early June, the live spotted prawns are in season. They are great just boiled with soy sauce for dipping or pan fried with soy sauce(please not with Maggi). I enjoy the Dim Sum lunch here too. The Lotus Root cakes and the Stuffed Tofus are very good. The usual BBQ Pork Buns, Chicken buns, Shrimp Dumplings, Meat Dumplings are always great. Very inexpensive for lunch: only $ 2.50 for most dishes. Dinner is mid priced. If you don’t order anything exotic, you can get away with spending $ 15 to $ 20 per person for food. Bottles of white or red wine from BCLCB are marked up by just $ 5. Selection maybe limited though. Service can be a bit indifferent at times. However, my five stars rating is for the food. One of my favorite Chinese restaurant.

Must order… the Special Duck dish. Sometimes it’s cooked with plum sauce, this time with a Taro base. Good meaty ½ duck, fat level not too bad for $ 12 Ordered the fish head as recommend by others. Not too bad, I like the mixed peppers, reminds me of costco hotdog peppers + garlic. The spicy flavour covers the fishy taste of the fish head. Not much fish meat in this dish. Try it if you don’t mind sucking on the fins and collar. It’s around $ 16 The hot pot veggies $ 14. It’s called a potato /yam leaves. Greasy but good. Eggplant & beef ribs with a black pepper sauce. I don’t really like this dish cause personally I don’t like beef ribs over tenderized, basically ruined the whole dish for me. Lamb hotpot. Decent, lots of lamb pieces along with veggies on the bottom but I find this dish overly watery. Overall good restaurant for the price. Nothing fancy. CASHONLY.

Hmm… I waited too long to write this review. I’ve been here for dinner only and all I have to say is: order the fish head. It’s not on the menu. It’s spiced with a variety of spices such as peppers, cilantro and garlic. Call me crazy but it also seemed the teeniest bit citrusy. I can’t remember the other things we ordered both times. There was a seafood soup in there, but everything is excellent here. Just. don’t forget to. order the fish head. Cash only, but prices are very reasonable. We spent $ 10 – 15 per person for a group of 5. Like everyone said, parking sucks, but its totally worth it here. Next time I am up in Richmond, I’ll try the dim sum.

It’s better than four stars, I would give four and half. Clean wash rooms, clean table, friendly staffs, we came for good food, this is the high point of this trip. Good food, DIm Sum are surprisingly good, we came by referral, not knowing they serve Dim Sum, salted pork rib with dehydrated veg congee came first, it’s so good, we all wanted second. Don’t know if this place has been here long. It always seems this location has new ones every year, but are they really the same or actually different? This time around it’s called Good Eat and today it was. We came here in search for Dim Sum. Tried out the Handy Dandy Unilocal APP on i-phone, but NO! NYY!(No yet Unilocaled). The service was better than average Dim sum service. This meaning that the staff were friendly and even said«thank you» and at one time when the waitress was a bit late bringing us our chili sauce, she even said«sorry». I was impressed. Those are usually words you don’t hear in a Dim Sum or Chinese restaurant. I was surprised. The Dim sum was good. I’d say better than average, since there are so many good locations here in town. It’s so competitive. Har Gow was big, Shrimp and Chive was plump and good sized too! My father discovered Rice rolls wrapped around the Chinese donut and Grandma enjoyed her chow mein noodles. This place is cash only, so be prepared to bring cash. Parking can be a bit tight, but there is pay parking on the street. On a crazy boxing day like today. We were happy we came here. Not too crazy and nice staff. They even gave us a coupon for a free special Chicken dish if we come by for dinner time. A solid 4 stars!(mostly for them saying«thank you and sorry») (typo’s in this review are included free of charge :)) Cheers!
