Did the tasting menu here and was not disappointed at all. We want with the wine pairing as well which was a good choice. They were a little heavy of the buffalo tongue as two courses had tongue but it was done beautifully so good. What is more, the services 5 stars. We had to wait for our table even though we had reservations so they gave us free cocktails. The food was creative and delicious.

We came because it was supposed to be good food BUT it is more a gastronomic experiment. All dishes are Tapas style… The food lacked love… not satisfying at all and it was expensive. Fairly good wine list, good staff and fairly child friendly but it took our last course forever to come… duck was good but… Wouldn’t recommend.

Our server, Jerome suggested that he would be happy to set up our tasting menu for us. We took him up on his offer and agree it was one of the best decisions we have made :). We started with a gazpacho with short rib. The gazpacho was creamy and perfectly seasoned and then had the small pieces of short rib. The short rib just bumped the whole flavor up a notch. We then had the elk carpaccio with a carrot purée with mushrooms. I would have probably never ordered this and it was spectacular! Paper thin slices, tender and a great flavor. We also had the foie gras. It was sweet and savory. There is a maple pastry crumbled and the foie gras has a birch syrup in it. It melted in your mouth. The next 2 dishes were Guinea Fowl and Pork Belly. The fowl wax so tender and moist you could cut it with your fork. It included a heavenly deep thick broth. There was a mushroom purée and herbed gnocchi that was tender and petite so it was like little surprises with each bite. The pork belly with ciopollini onions, chaga and cauliflower was perfectly cooked. It had just the right amount of fat and packed that perfectly seasoned bite. Desert was a cheesecake with red plum and a herbed sorbet. The cheesecake was light but decadent and the red plum and herbed sorbet put it over the top.

Best meal for me after six nights of dining in Montréal and Quebec. Following a recommendation from Le Germain Hotel, we dined at Legende and I’m so happy we did. The restaurant is a decent size, not too small and is a trendy place. The night we dined there all the waiters happened to be guys… and good looking at that. Our server was Charlelie, who was very friendly and engaging, made good recommendations and was attentive. He provided wonderful service. My husband and I took Charlelie’s wine recommendation and had a bottle of the Malivoire Old Vines Foch from Canada. We loved the earthiness, smokey flavor and smooth finish. Nice start to the evening. The food concept here is plates to share. You can get a six-course tasting menu for $ 120/couple which is not a bad price, but we wanted to choose our own plates. We were brought an amuse bouche of chicken liver mousse which was light and creamy and served with a crostini and other tasty morsels enhancing the flavor. We ordered the elk carpaccio plate, which was very thin rare elk meat with artichokes and tomato purée, very tender and tasty. Next we had the smoked char served with brussels sprouts. This fish melted in my mouth and had such a good flavor to it. I could have eaten a couple more of both of these delicious plates… so good! Then we had the blood pudding with broccoli and roasted parsnips. My husband like it… me, not so much. I gave it the college try, though! We ended with the duck breast with cauliflower. The duck was seared rare and was very tender. Every plate we had was beautifully presented and had layers of flavor with all the veges and purées to enhance the flavor. We loved the innovative and creative dishes we ate. My palate went on a wonderful journey dining here. I highly recommend Legende but make reservations. It was a full house the night we dined there. I give it five stars even though the blood pudding wasn’t a favorite of mine because it was done so good for those who love blood sausage like my husband. I’m not taking away points for my lack of taste.

Wow! Was taken to this restaurant by a local Quebec City resident. Many of the hotel Concierge we spoke to had recommended this resto as well. First restaurant I’ve been in in Canada that has literally blown my socks off. The menu is small plates(sharing is recomeneded). We were here for business dinner so we ordered 3 mains each as well as the charcuterie plate and seafood plate. I believe they were about $ 25 each. Seafood plate was amazing. It came with a raw salmon, cured cod(I think it was cod :/), marinade oysters, sea snail civiche(which was surprisingly delicious!) And a few other little bits of different things. Contrary to traditional seafood platters; all the elements were paired with a sauce or purée of sorts which was great! The charcuterie board came with all house cured meats, they were delicious, many sauces and elements for great pairings. The mains came with the option for wine pairings which can I say we’re great pairings and actually added more depth to each dish. Our group of four basically ordered everything on the menu and honestly we were all blown away from the bison, duck, frois Gras, fish dishes, blood pudding, caribou tartar, etc. All Absolutely delicious! Would go again in a heart beat if I’m back in town.

If we could give this 6 stars, we would. Seriously — if you love the incredible talent of a chef who has mastered local ingredients to create simply delicious creations, you must dine here. Where to start — our 5 dishes were all amazing. We enjoyed the smoked char and elk carpaccio to start — both were balanced and so flavorful. We followed with the bison and the pasta — again both were delicious! We ended with the duck — a perfect dish and my favorite of the 5, though all were amazing. The flavors and textures with each dish were so perfectly matched and worked beautifully together. The sea buckhorn mousse with the cucumber sorbet was the stunning conclusion. It reminded us of a dish from our amazing meal at Noma a few years ago. Yes — that’s how truly great this meal was. Don’t miss a visit here!

Great service, fun bar dining, pretty excellent food(quite playful with design and tastes — if perhaps a little heavy on the sauces). Seafood platter is very tasty and fresh. Ambiance quite nice(perhaps a little bright in bar area for 10 pm). English and French speaking.

Sunday, 7:30PM. Quickie: + Food quality ++ Friendly staff + Hygiene + Quick turnaround + Layout + Menu variety And then??? Make Legende part of your culinary adventure in Canada. ********** Stuffed my face in: 1. QUAILBREAST | gnocchi, zucchini, oyster mushroom + Tender meat; mushrooms is not a distraction. 2. BISONTATAKI | sea buckthorn, chanterelle + Savory with a nice rub on the ‘brine.‘ 3. SMOKEDCHAR | brussel sprouts, ceasar dressing, aigrelette + Smokey aroma with every bit of the fish. + Sauces add to the smoke flavor. 4. NORDICSHRIMP | rhubarb, salicorne + Succulent pieces of shrimp. 5. PANSEAREDSCALLOP | green pea, squash, lardon + Crisp caramelized crust. + Lardon enhanced scallop sauce. 6. VACHERIN | fresh herbs sorbet, fleur de sel caramel + Smooth, lightly sweetened, and refreshing. Constructive comments: *Do you compost?

We came her for lunch but I suspect the reviews are higher for dinner. The lunch menu was good but was a bit too limited. However, the ingredients were interesting and unique. I never had the spice, myrica and that was different. So do visit Legende, but try it for dinner over lunch.

Best meal we had in our Quebec City and Montréal trip. This is a casual but upscale new Québécois cuisine. This is a tapas style restaurant, so we could try a large variety of dishes. We brought our 4 yr old daughter along and felt welcome and comfortable. I think the food is as good as, if not better than many Michelin starred restaurants we had tried. The menu changes all the time, but some of the memorable ones we had: wild mushroom sautéed with Foie Gras, lamb fries(brains and testicles, if you need to know), pork belly, gnocchi that is also sauteed with foie gras, and fried pigeon.

I have been visiting Quebec City(from Chicago) 4 times a year for the past 4 years for work meetings. Every time I come I try new restaurants. This is my favorite so far! The food is incredibly fresh and well prepared. Everything is local to Quebec! I highly recommend the fish.

Great atmosphere and charming place! the idea is to share different kinds of dishes: we started with a great charcuterie and shared two others dishes. Nice idea of combining with each plate a different glass of wine! Great dessert gluten and dairy free! Staff very nice. The only remark is that despite I told about my allergy to tomato one of the dishes arrived with tomatoes: still they were very nice and apologized many times! Go there for a romantic dinner with your partner!

Excellent food and service! We started with the cheese plate was a delicious pairing of cheese with complementary sides such as beet sorbet and carmelized onions. The gnocchi was light and flavorful, and the arctic char was smoky with raw shaved Brussels sprouts. We ended with the gelato dessert which mixed chunks of meringue and cake along with an herb sorbet. They accommodated our two dogs in the outdoor patio.

Straight up, one of the best restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of dining at. Everything here was on point, the service was good, attentive but not overbearing. The restaurant itself, well decorated, tastefully done. The menu, ingredients wonderfully reimagined. The food, presentation, immaculate. The taste… I could only describe it as, the essence of(more on that later). Location, it’s near the Campbell’s soup can and the five foot tall pigeons. If you can find the statues, you’re already at Legende. Décor was good, lots of bench seating. Lots of light colored wood. The food, every single ingredient from the cauliflower purée to the delicious duck breast was just perfect. The carrots, tasted like a carrot you just pulled from the garden smells like, earthy and fresh, sweet but flavorful at the same time. The quail, tastes like a concentrate of fowl, crisp skin, succulent meat. The pork belly, melt in your mouth salt. The bison, just insane levels of flavor, lean, melty, cool. The fiddlehead ferns, pickled but still nutty like a forest floor. The food here is just… phenomenal. If I could give it six stars I would… a treat from start to finish. Every single bite, tastes like a distillation of flavor.

Montréal’s culinary scene is amazing. It ranges from vast ethnical food to masterful fine dining and because of that, I underestimated the prodigious chefs of Québec city. So now, let us all gather around the fire to listen to the great tale of Légende. To begin with, the restaurant has this beautiful rustic charm that’s unique to itself and proper to its name. Antlers on the counter, wooden shafts standing from the floor, and fur hides laying in every corner are contrasted with the vibrant and colorful paintings on the walls. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention about the music. Almost every track made me go «amhgahd dats my jam!» and I absolutely loved every single one of them — props to the DJ! Furthermore, the service throughout the stay was attentive and warm but some mistakes were present. The breads were forgotten and our single order of Eska was charged twice on the bill. The pace was perfect but we were the first and only table. When the dinner rush came in, our final order of desserts took a considerate amount of time to come. Nonetheless, the food was so delicious that the weight of the mistakes were lightened. Lamb fries, if you don’t know what those are, they’re lamb testicles. How did I end up eating that? It’s because it came with the lamb brain that I wanted to feed my curiosity with. The news was later delivered when I asked the waitress what«animelle» was. Did I regret it? Not at all. It was deceptively good. I’ve also tasted many other dishes and everything was flavorful and carefully cooked. Some elements weren’t perfect but neither were they far from it. My only complaint was my vacherin dessert which was a bit too salty for my taste but everything else was amazing. I’d say that the apple crumble and the lamb brain were the highlights. The crunch from the muësli and what seemed to be sponge candy contrasted perfectly with the small cubes of apple and the soft apple sorbet. I’d have to say that Légende holds true to its name and has made it onto my list of favorite restaurant. If you’re going to visit the Old Port of Québec then don’t waste your time, Légende will be more memorable than the Frontenac castle.

Wonderful dinning experience. We came in with high expectations and were not disappointed. Value was great, service was excellent(thank you Patrick). The place was packed while the streets were empty and it seemed like no one is out. Another Unilocaler recommended to let the waiter choose for us, We did the same and were very happy. Everything was really excellent, fresh, interesting. The wine pairing was great as well. We opted for the 3 oz portions so we can taste more variety. Favorite dishes — the duck breast and fois gras, and the pork belly.

Let them do it. Thats all I can say — Our waiter picked everything. From the wines to dessert, the food was out of this world. Absolutely the bet dessert I have ever had. The mixture of textures and tastes in the fois gras and ices cream sandwich was outstanding. If you are a foodie and like surprises, I recommend letting them entertain you…

Hands down, this was the best tasting meal that I have ever eaten. EVER. My boyfriend and I shared 6 small plates — the duck breast, pork belly, scallops, beef tataki, «game nuggets»(a combinatelk/bison/venison), and the mushrooms — each dish was absolutely fantastic! My favourites were the pork belly and the mushrooms. The food was undeniably delicious! I also really enjoyed the cocktails they had to offer — I tried an elderflower drink(YUM) and a pear drink… The pear drink was not the greatest — we jokingly called it «stinky pear» as it had a bit of a pungent/cheesy taste — not my fav! As far as overall restaurants experience, we were not disappointed. I enjoyed the rustic ambience, and the place was bustling. I will say that our service was particularly slow — We waited for about 10 minutes for both of our drink orders(the wait time for the food was to be expected). The servers were all very friendly and the food was so outstanding that it is easy to forgive the long wait times. I am definitely looking forward to returning to Legende, the next time I am in Quebec City.
