Very small portions. Ordered rolls and sashimi for two. $ 40 and the portions were so small we thought the plate was for only one person. The sashimi was paper thin(maybe a couple millimeters thick) and the rolls were small as well. Not worth the price, but maybe the convenience of the location!

Went to downtown to explore this city a little bit as the weather is extremely good today(cold, but very sunny). I came across Sushi Shop, which reminded me my first experience w this chain store. It was in Montréal five years ago. Time flies but the taste is still pretty good! I ordered small tonkotsu ramen soup and 4 pieces black sesame Temari(Te means hand and Mari means ball). The soup is not salty at all, have some veg and half egg in it. The Temari tasted fresh and delicious. I dont like buy sushi from the fridge for some reason, but the food in their take-out fridge looks good as well. Very quite even during lunch time on Monday.

Got takeout from Sushi Shop for dinner and actually quite enjoyed it. The crunchy tuna roll was pretty good although unless you like extra crunch ask for less than the normal amount. The avocado roll was simple but also delicious. Give it a try — it’s quick and delish! The staff also seems quite pleasant. Happy to answer questions but also gave me plenty of time to decide. I didn’t feel rushed.

Sushi Shop is a chain of take-out sushi restaurants found all over Canada owned by le Group MTY. The location on Sparks has indoor and outdoor seating. The food itself is ok; they offer a variety of makis, hosomakis, nigiris, sashimi and their own assortment of creations. These include dessert sushi, spring makis and maki tartars. Sushi shop has a decent selection of vegetarian options. The rolling consistency depends on who is working and their abilities to rolls sushis. I’ve had excellent to mediocre meals. Inspect your meals well before accepting them! In terms of value, Sushi Shop offers standard take-out fare. They do offer seasonal discounts and have a few specialty rolls including lobster rolls, volcano rolls which involve a mini flame thrower and the heart shaped sweetheart rolls. The ingredients are generally fresh, offering middle of the road quality. From 12 – 2:30pm, Sushi Shop offers«Midi/Lunch express meals», which are combos including a mix of makis and hosomakis offered at a reduced price. These boxes tend to sell quickly, so arrive early to avoid disappointment.
