Ordered a platter and desert sushi from here for delivery and was really not pleased. First, we live 5 minutes away by car and it took an hour to arrive. The delivery guy did apologize tho, which made me optimistic about this sushi. Second, it was expensive. We ordered a platter of around 30 pc and two rolls of desert sushi and it was well over $ 50, which is a lot in terms of ottawa delivery sushi. So we figured it must be good quality… The food. They didn’t send any soy sauce(!?) so we had to go out and buy some. Very annoyed. The chopsticks weren’t wrapped in anything either which is also not the norm in terms of ottawa sushi. The food was really disappointing. The platter was a «chefs choice» kinda thing which we thought would be cool, but all the rolls seemed to have identical or almost identical fillings. And they were all really gross. This tastes like no other sushi I have had before. The rolls were too large to comfortably pick up with chopsticks so you had to flip them on their side to pick up. But the quality just wasn’t there so the rolls fell apart completely. I think the biggest mistake made by naked sushi is thinking that you can slam together whatever you want and roll it in rice and call it sushi. I don’t know if this was supposed to be like asian fusion(really heavy on the fusion aspect) and I missed the sign but it was really not pleasant and not at all like sushi. It was worse than the weird grocery store sushi. I will not be eating here again.

Meh… It would be beneficial to offer a better delivery service or just get rid of it all together. I live very close to this place and it takes well over an hour once it took 2 hours and by the time my sushi was delivered to me all of the avocado had turned brown and everything including the fish was warm. I was very disappointed. Sushi is decent but nothing spectacular it has the same quality as the stuff you can get in the grocery store but for 3 times the price.

My Wife and I were really looking forward to having ramen/udon noodle soup. We had both the chicken and duck soups. Unfortunately they were both very bland. The chicken looked bleached white. Our kitchen could have made better. Why isn’t there a decent ramen noodle restaurant in Ottawa? The sushi was decent, but I don’t think we’ll be going back.

My husband and I recently tried the Naked Fish Sushi restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered a party platter(we were hungry!) to share between the two of us which was very affordable. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. I mentioned that I have a gluten intolerance and they were very conscientious in making sure that the various types of sushi did not contain any gluten. They prepared the rolls without delay and we were soon chowing down. The sushi were tasty and fresh. We will soon be making a return trip!

This place was pretty good for lunch, although I wasn’t impressed with the selection of lunch combos. A la carte is possible. It’s pretty casual and meant for a quick bite, not a prolonged meal or romantic lunch, but the sushi is good and reasonably priced. Not the highlight of the sushi world, but still pretty good.

I’ve been to this joint a few times, as I work in the area, and I’ve never been let down. I’m not exactly a connoisseur of sushi but I’ve been to at least six different spots more than once and this is the first place I felt compelled to write a review for! The staff are very nice and helpful, the décor is modern and less than Japanese, and the prices and food are great! If your in the area, or work in the area, check this place out if you’re down for a little raw fish! I’ve not yet tried the soup so I can’t say whether that’s a hit or not but I’ve tried several different rolls of sushi and they’ve yet to miss. Also having authentic beers on tap is a big win for the after work drink with friends!

We walked in here one day off the street — and now tend to return here when we’re in the area for dinner or a light snack. A la carte sushi, prepared while you wait — if you want to stop in to split a roll between two people, it’s an offordable stop for mid afternoon. Décor is pleasant and more on the modern side. They have a cooler where pre-made sushi is waiting for those in a rush(lunch crowd, people on breaks, people with places to go, people to see). You can also buy supplied for making your own sushi(wraps, vinegar, etc.) The menu has the typical styles you expect to find at a sushi bar, with focuson sustainable sources. Service has — most typically — been cheerful and perfectly fine. I find the making of each dish takes a bit longer here than at most places — so talk to your companion — or, if alone, bring something to amuse yourself. Are there better sushi placed in Ottawa? I guess it depends on your measure. For the price, location and service, I like this restaurant. Would I recommend: Yes Would I return: Yes

Naked Fish Sushi is a sushi restaurant offering take out style sushi with some cafeteria seating. What really sets Naked Fish appart is its business model; it uses ingredients from sustainable sources. It’s the only environmentally minded sushi restaurant in Ottawa. The food itself is inconsistent; like most take out sushi places, it really depends on who is rolling your order. I know some customers don’t appreciate the fact that all menu items at Naked Sushi are a la carte, meaning they don’t have any combos. They have lots of vegetarian options that can br mixed n matched to make a meal. If you’re in the area and are being Eco-conscious, then go back here. However, I would not go out of my way to eat here again.
