As per my previous review, Merivale Mall is still a sad little mall, but it is a little less sad now that a large Marshalls has opened up there. The Marshalls here is not as good as the Marshalls at Trainyards but it’s not bad(if you like these kinds of stores, which I do — brand names at discount prices, count me in!). There were big renovations to this mall leading up to the grand opening of the Marshalls. It’s no longer dark and grungy. It’s bright and very spacious now. Although the lack of tenants makes the mall look rather sparse. There’s still a Farm Boy, Shoppers Drug Mart, and Sportchek. T&T Tailors is still there(and they are still great). I think the shawarma place is gone. There’s a Pizza Pizza instead. There’s a rug store, a tanning salon, a hair salon and a cell phone accessories kiosk. And a handful of other small stores. The weird thing is that some stores are not accessible through the mall. You have to go outside to get into the store(i.e. Payless Shoes). There’s lots of free parking, which is always a plus. I only go here for Marshalls, Farm Boy and T&T Tailors.

Heard Marshalls was finally open so I made my way there earlier today. I totally forgot that Merivale Mall was under construction before! Construction is finally over! I can tell you one thing — when you step in, you won’t recognize that mall anymore! Nice and clean but still a bit empty. Same stores still there for the most part. Some relocated to a different part of the mall. Not much going on there but who knows — maybe they’re planning on opening more stores inside Merivale Mall? We shall see. FYI — as of today, Oct 9, there’s no entrance to Shopper’s drug mart from inside the mall as Shopper’s is still undergoing renovations. The only entrance for now is only from outside.

The Merivale Mall is a quaint little indoor mall in Nepean and even though it doesn’t have a whole bunch of big box stores it has its charm and is situated nicely in a densely populated area of town. The mall is currently still undergoing huge renovations and upgrades and will have a Marshall’s when it is done in October. I love this mall for the Shopper’s Drug Mart, FarmBoy, Pizza Pizza, SportChek, YMCA, TD Bank and especially Rockwell’s Restaurant where we love to have Sunday breakfast with the kids. The mall is very kid friendly and is a short distance from the rest of the Big Box stores on Merivale.

I really don’t see a point in this mall really. They don’t have anything. Shut it down already. Such a lame mall. That is all.

Merivale Mall is a shopping centre geared toward an older crowd but it does offer some stores for people of all ages. The anchor stores are Farm Boy, SportChek and a fairly large Shoppers Drug Mart. Between those stores you’ll find a few hair salons, several gift stores, tanning salon and medical offices. The OLG lottery terminal is often quite busy at this location as is the restaurant and magazine stand. The parking lot is often quite busy so looks can be deceiving because when you get inside the mall isn’t always as busy. Unless you know what you’re going for you may leave this mall disappointed as I’ve never found it to be a good place to go in without ideas. If you’re on a mission to buy a certain something from a specific store this mall is pretty painless.
