Montana’s Cookhouse

It is a chain, and it is okay. The three cheese dip is good. Lots of pulled, skewered and grilled takes on Tex-​Mex food, without any of the seasoning or the American cheapness. I also leave feeling I’ve eaten too much. At least there are lots of TVs. I wonder if the servers like scrawling their name in crayon on every table the serve?

I went to this location today for my birthday and would have had a decent experience, except for our server Emilea.
The good parts.
The food was fairly good, I had a burger and I’m not sure I liked the bun but everything else was good.
The music, atmosphere, and temperature was perfect.
The bad.
It started when I realized I was stuck to the bench. Even tho the restaurant was almost empty when we came in, we’d been sat at a dirty table where the bench was sticky and it got on my shorts. I asked the server about it when she came over and she just said «okay». I had to ask if she had anything to wipe it with. She came back with a damp cloth and held it out to me, saying she could clean it if I needed and I said no bother I’m already here I might as well. So as I’m cleaning it, I knock the table and my drink spills. She sighs and watches us clean it for a while before grabbing some paper towel for us. She didn’t offer us another drink for the one that was spilled and she made us pay for it. When we did order a second drink, it tastes slightly different and definitely didn’t have any alcohol in it (we ordered sangria). Later when we ordered dessert, she «forgot» the whip cream on my meal and only offered to bring some after I pointed it out. She was also very short with us and fairly rude after the drink was served.
My family has been coming here for years and I have half a mind to complain to a manager about this as I’m not sure why I had to pay for two sangria when I didn’t even get any alcohol at the end of the day. I can say for certain that I will never return here and I will do my best to make sure others don’t as well.

Came here a few days ago with my fiancé for a lunch date!
We love Montanas because of the paper they put on your table to doodle on. We always play x’s and o’s and hangman while we are waiting.
Our waiter was very friendly, attentive and quick! Filled up our drinks every time we were getting low and I love that, I hate waiting for my glass to be filled if it’s been empty for a while.
I had their new antojitos burger, and he had the brisket burger. They were both great. Mine was very spicy, but there was this cream cheese spread on mine that was amazing and helped to calm the bite.
We both had fries, and I must say that they have really great fries here! I also got their new «Fry dip» which is essentially just an aoli, very good and only 45 cents!
two drinks and two burgers came to $ 40 plus tip, not bad. Very good food and service. I definitely recommend.

Was here last night.
Food was good, as always! So were the drinks! I cherish my 34oz man mug of Keith’s.
However, the service was fairly poor. Our server was rushing us along, taking away dishes before we were finished eating, grabbing the bill for us and then returning with the debit terminal before we had even started our dessert. I personally like to finish eating before I pay. We didn’t ask for the bill or the machine, so it was a little surprising. It wasn’t busy really for a Wednesday night, and we had a little table in the corner of the bar. I won’t return, I felt like I wasn’t welcome.
Food is good though, always good! I would advise maybe a different location?

I went here for dinner with a friend today and I was not disappointed! I’ve been to the one near Blair and it was amazing!!! They have the best burgers I have ever tasted.
I got a Bison Burger. I believe I got the same thing at the Blair location. It came with a Caesar Salad (you can have mashed or roasted potatoes, fries, or salad). Burger is to die for. If I could have one last meal before I die, this burger would be number two! (only thing that beats this is a streak from The Keg).
The staff was friendly as usual. I was greeted with a smile and our server was attentive. There is even a patio to sit outside. The whole atmosphere is wonderful. I felt a positive vibe.
I would highly recommend this place!!! It’s one of my favourite restaurants. Check it out. I posted a picture of the Bison Burger. The price is normal for a restaurant (about $ 14 plus tax and tip).

Ate here a couple of times and they’ve never disappointed me. It’s a good place to eat at with family or a group of people.

My favorite Montana’s location; they never disappoint!
Ordered the veggie burger with apple butter bbq sauce and a side of fries. The veggie burger was scrumptious and charbroiled to perfection, topped with sauteed peppers, feta cheese, a slice of tomato and leafy lettuce. I devoured this veggie burger within minutes.
The fries were overly salty. I now know to hold the salt next time.
Service was quick. Showed up at 5:30, so we got a table right away. As we were leaving just before 7, there was a line up at the door.
Best advice, show up at 5 and beat the rush!

Considering that Montana’s and Kelsey’s are both owned by the same company, my experirences at both are so shockingly different its baffling.
The service at this location is always top notch, they don’t hover, but they don’t ignore you at the same time. The food always tastes good, comes to you warm, and this location actually has some local beer in the form of Beau’s Lugtread, which tastes pretty damn good.
