I bought new skis and bindings from the store and agreed on small marker tour bindings as they would fit my boot and save weight. I left a ski boot so they could mount the bindings and set them up accordingly. On picking them up I found they had fitted the large marker tour bindings by mistake and would have to redrill my new skis to fit the small bindings we agreed on, although the large still take my boot they look far too big and cumbersome as they are on minimum adjustment. I said I’ll take them providing they help me out with a little discount on climbing skins. After some research I called the store asking for G3 high traction skins for my skis they said they had them in stock and put them aside, when I got to the store nobody new anything about them and they only had the normal G3 alpinist skins, I was going to Revelstoke the next day so had to take them. There was no discount applied as, again, nobody knew about the agreed discount for fitting the wrong bindings to my new skis, on getting to Revelstoke the skins were the wrong length for my skis so I had to buy another pair there, which took time I was supposed to be skiing waiting for shops to open and messing around. I returned the skins to the store and I’m pretty sure I won’t be going there again.

The staff at this store are so helpful they made my experience buying new gear really fun and were very well informed. They had a really wide selection of kite bags and Vince told me really clearly what was the best deal and what I should look for in a kite bag. He took it to next level and let me look threw there off season bathing suits so I would have one for my trip. The girls brought me tones of stuff to try on depending on what I liked and looked good. My last min nightmare of holiday shopping was saved by great staff. If I need any gear in the future this is where I will be going.

A shop that understands customer service and fixing the customer. I had a tough time finding a comfortable ski boot. Brett and his team worked to solve the problem first. At no point was I worried about the cost of the boot because I knew if it didn’t work out Brett would stand behind his product and his team and find the right fit. At the end of the day I retuned everything and took up snowboarding because of the foot pain in ski boots. Ask yourself if any other shop would do this??? Not likely. Just north Shore ski. All the staff genuinely take pride in helping. The same can’t be said about other shops on the north shore. Looking for ski/board equipment? There is only one place to go. Ask for Brett. Ps. I am not an employee but just a happy customer.

Vince and crew at NSSB have really stepped up their game in the last few years. Dialled product, engaged and caring staff, clean space, prompt service, etc. can’t say enough good things about his business as a whole.

I’m rating the shop downstairs. I’m not sure if «North Shore Girl» is its own entity still, or if they completely merged with North Shore Ski & Board. But I’m going to treat them as they are separate because they are very different experiences. The girls working in the clothing area — not so great. But down in the shop — they are fantastic. Very friendly, timely, they listen to what you’re asking for, and they get the job done right. They also take the time needed with you and don’t rush things. From a woman’s stance, I also want to mention that they don’t talk down to you. Often times in the sports worlds that are mainly led by men, I find that places focus on things like color and popularity vs. quality and what would actually be the best equipment or setup for me. Furthermore, they tend to talk down to you. I experienced none of that. They are on the pricey side compared to other shops. And their clothing and equipment is definitely on the pricey side.
