Good deal. Fast and efficient service. Forgot our second Naan bread with the homous, but not a big deal. For 2 people, we spent about $ 16 each, including tip/tax, and had leftovers for another meal — almost like 8/meal!

Good Persian food. The Ghormeh Sabzi was tasty. The Joojeh Kabob was moist and flavourful. Can’t comment on the service, I did take out.

I came here when it initially opened up a few years ago and have to say really liked the food. On a recent visit though I was let down. The décor is nothing special, just a typical brown chair and desks but the location offers a partial view of the shipyards. The service was great and my food arrived really quick and perhaps that’s when I should have expected that the meat on my kebob was half cooked. Don’t get me wrong I like my steak medium rare and don’t like overcooked meat but raw and pink kebob meat can lead to food poisoning. Overall I like their downtown location better and will think twice before coming here again.

Cazba, Cazba, Cazba, is the the shining example of what happens when a price-war erupts between rivals. The first thing you notice, like with most Iranian kabab houses in Vancouver is the alarmingly low prices advertised on poor quality aesthetically challenged signs outside. So you’re left wondering how such an amazing dish like kabab koobideh(delicious skewers of ground beef/lamb goodness) ends up tasting like cheap breakfast sausages at a motel. As a person with part Iranian heritage, I can confidently state that kabab koobideh tastes nothing like what I last consumed at this establishment. The only explanation for Cazba and other Iranian kabab houses in Vancouver is the price war which has forced competitors to what now looks like the use of fillers to keep up financially. From a consumer standpoint, this is a tragedy, and for the Iranian food lovers who appreciate and know the food, it’s an injustice. Because Iranian cuisine is now completely misrepresented in Vancouver of all places. PS the comparison to breakfast sausages is not just my own true taste experience but also that of my brother’s Try it for yourself lol But the 2 stars are for the decent enough service and the fact that no one from our table got sick from what was mysterious to all four of us patrons here.

Pretty good persian food! Kashk bademjan is a tasty appetizer with the fresh homemade bread they serve. I usually get the ghormeh sabzi which I don’t like to share. lol

My first restaurant I went to in Vancouver! I didn’t expect such tasty food at all, but it was. Waitresses were really nice and helpful. Unfortunately mojito was not on the high level. In any way five stares, I spend amazing time with my husband there. I will defiantly come back.

After a long day of shopping, it was time to pick a place to eat for dinner. I didn’t really know what to eat since I’m pretty indecisive… My older sister is a big fan of middle eastern/Cazba’s food and has been itching to bring me to Cazba for a while now. We went to the North Vancouver location for dinner. Food was very good but I must say some of the servers there do not know what good customer service is! Ordering our food was very hard even though the restaurant was half full and there was about 8 waiting Staff present on the floor. After waiting about 15 minutes, we finally got our ordered taken. Since it was my first time here, I let my sister order for us. She orders the Fried eggplant dip,(which I must say was amazing) and we shared the large platter(beef, chicken and dill rice) Meat was good and tender. We also order some hommus which came after our meal. The hommus was very good as well. I will come back for food but not for service!

Excellence all around, especially given the price point. I recommend eating in, rather than take out. Somehow it just tastes better right from their kitchen to your plate. Eat here. Do it my friend! Do iiiiit!

We order out from here once ever two months. In my opinion, it’s the best value on the dollar for Persian Food on the North Shore. We will usually order a few Chelo Kebob Koobideh — which we find to be more moist than the Bakhtiari. It comes with the ground beef skewer, grilled tomato, and plenty of rice. On a multiple order, family style order, it’s best to get the rice packed separately because you will have a lot left over. My wife also enjoys the Fesenjoon. If you are eating at home, you can prep your own veggies to supplement rather than order the green salad. Highly recommended for takeout. Whenever we pick up food, the place is usually really busy. We have eaten in once and the service was fine. Definitely recommend Cazba.

Delicious kebabs and much more: We had made a trip all the way to North Vancouver to try out this place. The restaurant was quite big, the tables were well spaced out and we felt comfortable immediately as we got ourselves seated. From the starters menu we tried Kashkeh Bademjoon(fried eggplant, delicious!). From the mains we ordered Joojeh Kebab Waziri(lovely lovely chicken and beef kebabs) and Fesenjoon Stew(made from pomegranate, walnuts and chicken). Both the kebab and the stew came with sides of rice, and for a small price they replaced the rice with salad. The Fesenjoon stew simply made my day. I never knew walnuts and pomegranate could make such a yummilicious combo! A big thanks to our Iranian friends who recommended us the dish! The portions were quite large, and we packed in the leftovers for lunch next day. :) The décor was nice and the service was prompt and courteous. I would love to go back again. Judging from our experience, this place gets quite busy on the weekends, might be a good idea to reserve a table before showing up for those heavenly kebabs. :)

The portion here is huge and can really feed like 2 people. I have spoke to Persian friends about it and they said they don’t usually eat as much as the portion that Cazba provides. The prices are quite reasonable. And the flavor is ok. I am not big on their food. I am probably just not used to their spices. So I am not really a fan of this place. I was first introduced here by a 2 Persian friends and they said the food is authentic. I gave it a three star but this is my preference. I am sure my Persian friends will give it 4 or 5 stars. Will I come here again. Maybe.

First of all, I have to say this, Cazba has a strong reputation for being a decent persian(iranian) food experience, at a decent price. I was told to try the eggplant appetizer and I admit it, it was unreal, delicious! The lamb chops were also delicious but the rack of lamb was very dry, almost like a rock. The place was packed, so I was glad I had made a reservation! The reason I did not give it a 3 star review was because the waiter was so slow, I mean it, so slow, that we were wondering if something was going on in the kitchen. The food was a-ok(3 stars), but the service the day I was there was horrible(I’d give it 2 stars).

Came here for a family dinner at the suggestion of my step dad. The food was decent. A lot of the spices used in this type of cooking is similar to what we make at home. I was disappointed in the olives that claimed to have had some pomegranates, however, there was none. I had the salad and the yogurt mint drink. I ate very light due to my stomach. Price was decent. I liked the honey balls. Service was very slow.

So we started with the appatizer: — zeytoon parvarde was great — kashk-o– bademjan was really bad. Avoid it by all means. This dish does not represent the real Persian kashkObademjan. This dish is my favorite and this was the worst I have ever had! — masto– mosir was alright… Nothing special I had koobideh kebab. It was mediocre. The rice was good the meat avarage and the tomato was burnt. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for great Persian food, but if you just want cheap food for an average quality that’s a good spot. P. S. the service was amazing !

How I heard of this place: We were invited to lunch with some of my parents closest friends and they treated us to their favorite Persian restaurant in the area. An hour later, we were seated at Cazba. Type of cuisine: «Healthy & Fresh Food. Grilled Everyday. Fine Persian Cuisine.» Their website boasts: «Cazba Restaurant is dedicated to provide high quality: Healthy Food, Fresh Food, Affordable At Cazba Restaurant, our goal is to provide high quality Persian Cuisine at affordable prices. We only use fresh vegetable, meat and poultry. We are proud to use the highest quality AAA Alberta Beef for our Kababs. Persian cuisine is healthy, tasteful. and colorful. Not only is Persian food one of the most delicious cuisines of the world, but also the healthiest. Sumptuous dishes of melt-in-your-mouth meat, tummy-warming savoury stews, and vegetables infused with delicate herbs and flavours mark Persian food as a dining experience unlike any other. Chelo Kebab like barg, koobideh, joojeh, and sultani features juicy meat, patiently grilled on skewers to perfection. Khoresht such as ghormeh sabzi and gheimeh are stews that treat every mouthful to the hearty goodness of the freshest herbs and vegetables in a meat broth. When served on hot Basmati white rice, the combination makes it an unforgettable meal. Poultry and fish entrees as well as dishes like soups(ash-e-reshte), quiche(kookoo sabzi), herbed/vegetable rice(loobia pollo, sabzi pollo, zereshk pollo) bring the exotic Persian aromas and visual sensations to your table. Spices like saffron, cinnamon, and parsley add a delicate zest to give a delightful variety. For dessert, try the strong tea and rich pastries that cap the evening with loved ones.» Ambiance: Set in a strip mall, the unassuming exterior patio with the bold colors of the Iranian flag bedecked the windows and awning. Walking past several doors, through the patio seating, we finally found the front entrance where we waited to be seated. We were escorted through a low-ceilinged establishment with pale yellow walls and black trim, made bright only through the overcast natural lights streaming through the windows; the recessed lights overhead doing little to light our paths. We moved from the linen-less wooden table/chair-scapes at the front towards the main dining area — next to the bar — where our white linen tablecloths were topped off with glass and our appetizer settings. Towards the window, dozens were seated, laughing, enjoying their meals and partaking of Middle Eastern hospitality at its best. What I ordered: Being unfamiliar with the generous portions, our appetizer selection was immense — both in amount and in flavor! We began with two orders of the Kashkeh Bademjoon($ 4.95 each), deep fried eggplant, served with pita bread and one order of Hummus($ 4.95) served with sliced cucumber, tomato and a side of iceberg lettuce. We continued with the Mastomusir($ 2.95), yogurt with shallots, and a Shirazi Salad($ 2.95) with cucumber, tomato, onion and mint. Our hosts each enjoyed the Chelo Kabob Soltani($ 10.95) with one skewer of Barg(steak) and one skewer of Koobideh(ground beef), served with Basmati rice and a grilled tomato. I ordered my usual: Joojeh Kebab Vaziri($ 10.95) for one skewer of Joojeh and one skewer of Koobideh kabobs, also served with Served with Basmati rice and a grilled tomato. My husband stuck to his favorite: Chelo Kebab Koobideh($ 6.95) for two skewers of Ground AAA Alberta Beef, served with Basmati rice(saffron) and grilled tomato. What I loved: Each of our appetizers was complete as a meal on its own. From the robust flavor of the fried eggplant topped with a drizzle of whey, to the pungent and satisfying creaminess of the mastomusir, all of which we enjoyed a second time the following day. The kabobs — both the koobideh and the joojeh — had so much juice, were so moist and so light that it was easy to knock back more than you would have anticipated nor expected to eat upon being seated. Why I loved it: The price is very reasonable and the food abundant and tasty. Among the Persian restaurants I have frequented in my life, this has to be in my top five. Cost: Low to average(CAD$ 6.95 — CAD$ 14.95 per entrée)

Nothing bad to say. This restaurant is one of my favorites! Ghormeh sabzi and koobideh are very good. I have to agree that their rice is definitely one of the better ones! Roasted tomatoes are not bad at all! I like to get a variety of their stews and koobideh together and share everything:) The price is also very reasonable. Great spot for family outing!

Love the value of the entrees here. Most kebab dishes are under $ 10. I usually pay an extra $ 1 for salad and rice. Food quality is great for the price. This time we ordered kashkeh bademjoon. It is a deep fried eggplant spread. I could taste the mint but cannot make out the rest of the spices. I found it went well with the pita. It was quite interesting to try as I am not familiar with Persian food. We got tahdeeg as a free appetizer. Crispy rice served with bits of beef. This version is better than the one we tried at AVA Restaurant. There was more sauce to go with the rice hence it was less dry. I know there are different versions but I like sauce :)! The kebabs are moist and flavourful. I think the quality of the meat is good for the price. Salad was fresh. Rice was alright. The service was only okay. It seems like asking for water always require staff to be asked multiple times. This seems to be a trend with Persian restaurants I have visited. Service is minimal. I am giving 4 stars for the value and free appetizer. Last time I was here we did not get the tahdeeg on the house. Seems like the competition in the area is getting tough and this is the second restaurant we got this for free. AVA Restaurant also served this as a free appetizer with along with some pita.

I love love love Persian food. But, I’m not a fan of going to new-to-me Persian restaurants. Most of the time, the food at these new places just doesn’t stack up when compared to my favorite places. So, I had low expectations when we decided to check out Cazba. We got to the restaurant around 3pm on a weekday, and it was still fairly busy for that time of day. I ordered the Chelo Kabab Soltani(one steak kabob, one ground beef kabob), while the wifey ordered the Jujeh Soltani(one chicken kabob, one ground beef kabob). The food came out within minutes, and I quickly started to inhale my food. Barg? Great! Koobideh? Good! Chicken? Decent! Mixing the grilled tomato into the rice? Awesome! Not only did I wolf down my own food, I stuffed myself silly with half of my wife’s. That’s when you know a place is good, you keep eating past content, past full, and past uncomfortable!
