We got their lamb chop meal which is actually lamb rack I usually get the lamb medium but recent restaurant visits to other places gave me the impression some restaurants didn’t know what medium was so here I asked for well done just to be sure it was cooked and not pink Guess what these folks did it exactly as ordered they are 10 to 15 percent more expensive than a place like yaas in the same area but these folks put more care into the flavoring of the meat very nice marinating and post garnishing very good quality meat and taste is very good Price a little higher but quality of the meal is definately good what sets them apart from the rest is the owner asked how it was and took the time to really care for how we felt it wasn’t busy when we went but that really deserves 5⁄5 not to mention the food was great Thank you

This place has the best kabob dishes. Fresh, savoury, and well priced. Large portions indeed. Service is fantastic. Recommended by a friend, this local family restaurant is overall wonderful. Must try the Barberry rice!

Amazing value and good food. Not the fanciest place but their food always hits the spot.

The worst Persian food I have ever eaten in my life! Tahdig was old and it was obvious it just came out of microwave! Kashke bademjan was the only thing that was edible! Koobideh and Barg was nothing like an original kabab. The lady working there was so nice though. The food was soooo bad! So disappointed!

Lost in a little corner close to Lonsdale avenue, you’ll find that simple clean and delicious restaurant. They are serving delicious skewers(«Kabob») made with marinated meat. The chicken with saffron was delicious. Service is good, but sometimes a little too much for my taste(asking if everything is fine every 2 minutes). It is on the expensive side for lunch, but all in all quite affordable for the quality. I recommend !

I’m a bit confused as to who owns this place now and who the chef is. I remember a couple years back when we first went here as per a friend’s suggestion, we enjoyed the food, portions were huge and server was phenomenal. Then a while later when we went back we were given flyers that they were moving to establish the restaurant«Zeitoon» on Lonsdale and that the previous owners were coming back but their chef was going to stay the same. After Zeitoon was established, we went back to Lonsdale Kebab for a third time. I have to say the food and service was never like our first visit. Not sure who the owner was at that time but either way things have changed from a few years ago. Still– nice quiet place to enjoy good food at slightly above average prices.

I’ve been three times over the past few weeks, with different people. Everybody raves about the chicken kabobs with saffron. I’ve been hooked on the beef-and-kidney bean stew myself but will have to branch out and try the chicken or some other dishes some time. We’ve all really liked the eggplant dip and the pickled vegetables too. The owners are a husband and wife team. He(the chef) is very nice and the wife/main server named Lily is a delight — lots of fun chatting with her.

The best Persian food in lower mainland hands down. The service is top notch vary attentive. We had chicken(jooje kabab) and beef(barg) kabob which were awesome and came in generous portions. Highly recommended

Amazing service! The server was very honest in recommending food to us. It was my first time trying the carbonated yogurt drink and the server actually disrecommended to me as it may not be pleasant for first timer. I ordered it anyways and yes it was not tasty =). Kebab tasted good with quality meats. Nothing was burnt. Portion was good too.

Best Persian food from all these restaurants on Lonsdale, IMHO. A bit more expensive than Cazba, but more juicy and tasty. Plates are pretty big, the restaurant is hidden and you don’t usually see too many people, may wait a bit after you order, but you won’t be disappointed.

— Persian restaurant — cheaper than some of the others — Relatively tasty kebab — stews acceptable but not great — décor is simple and clean … perhaps better suited for lunch than a dinner setting

My most memorable experience with Persian cuisine was a pre-wedding meal in New York. Reading all the glowing reviews I had to try out this place. They didn’t have lamb, even though we were first there upon noon opening. No soup either. No dessert on the menu. For portion size It was good value. The chicken was moist and flavourful. The doogh drink, which I’ve never had, was hard to drink. I didn’t know till later it is curdled milk. The beef kebab was tasty. But halfway through it was okay. Both meats had a spam-like texture. I do like the rice, extra long grain. I will try out other suggested places nearby to compare.

Was very good, had the chicken and as promised, very moist and tasty. Plate size was plentiful and overall a good experience. We came in late afternoon when it was a bit quiet.

the kabobs are really good and reasonably priced, the eggplant dip was stale and old, and can definitely be avoided. The waitress also overcharged me by $ 3.00, dint see what was the reason for her doing that so just be careful dislike & detest places or people that act sneaky like that, but it was ignored since the kabobs were really good. would i go there again, yes.

I’m giving it 5 stars because of the exceptional value. Food is a solid 4 stars, same with service, but the low priced menu, fresh ingredients, and traditional recopies(meaning the ground beef kabab doesn’t have baking soda or egg in it) deserve the recognition. I’ll be back here next time i’m in Vancouver. really nice staff. its a small restaurant, slightly hidden from view, plastic covered chairs. cute, kind of like eating at your old Persian grandma’s house.

Service is home like. Sometimes good, sometimes bad/busy. Food is great n I really ask them to add tah dig to their menu(meaning to have it all the time). It’s very cheap too. Enjoy

The first thing I ever noticed here was the smell coming from the grills in the back. The smell of lamb and chicken roasting on a grill will draw you in to this gem of a place. The space is small, the service is very friendly and quick to help. This place is very popular. Every time we have come here, it has been busy beyond belief and all that aside, the food is the reason to come back. The good thing about the menu is, every thing on it appeals to me every time. This always puts me in a quandry. What should I pick, what should I pick? Lamb Kebab!!! Always.(ok ok, maybe a chicken kebab also). I love love love this place. Find a time to get up here and enjoy.

* «Spoon tender» lamb * Got back for another go at the grilled lamb. Just as delicious as always. And this time they even served a knife(which wasn’t needed at all). The lamb is literally spoon tender, nicely crusted with a slight caramelization, light fluffy Persian rice, a fresh salad, and two grilled tomatoes. What a great meal: and
