This is not my normal hangout but I love the atmosphere. Everything I’ve had has been delicious. I don’t know a lot about oysters or charcuterie but everything suggested was delicious, especially the chicken liver brule. The environment is very relaxed and I have had mixed experiences with service, none ever bad just some more attentive than others. I will definitely return!

Good oysters and charcuterie, the vibe is great — a tight knit jazz bar. I give it 2 stars because my family and I did not receive decent service from the workers. Surprised it was like that considering most of the reviews rave about how good the service is. It was not even packed(went on a Sunday), waitress doesn’t explain there’s no menu — you just order off the wall, so she doesn’t even come by for 20 mins while she takes order from a group that came well after us. We even nodded at one of the guys at the back asking for service and he just points to the girl. Half the time she was also at the back — no front cover. It took us forever to get the charcuterie board(it came well after we received a second order of oysters). I still gave her a decent tip after ordering 5 dozen oysters, bottle of wine, and a whole charcuterie board(15% after tax) and not a single thanks. Just walked out and hesitant to try this place again.

I am always coming back when I’m in town. Their buck-a-shuck time(4−6PM daily) is 100% worth it. The oysters are fresh and taste amazing. The condiments were all freshly made and were perfect with the oysters. I would’ve ordered more if I had more time(that being said they need more staff as 2 dozen oysters and 1 meat&cheese took much too long to serve). The manager, I believe, was nice and able to introduce the menu and drinks to my boyfriend and I. 100% will be back.

Good hole in the wall. Lots of variety with drinks, great oysters, overpriced carchuterie but all in all a good experience

So good. Fresh food and great service. The chacouterie is definitely fun for a group, and the Oyster Buck a Shuck($ 1/oyster) deal is amazing even if the oysters are kind of small bc they are FRESH and just so so yummy. Alcohol is entirely too expensive there though, it’s like $ 9 for a cider… but otherwise always satisfying.

Oyster nirvana! I was skeptical about this place as soon as I walked in at 7pm on a weekday. I person sitting at the bar, and he apparently was an employee. Sat down at the bar and they give you a bottle of water, and I ordered a beer. Asked her what was good, and she said pretty much everything. I ordered a half dozen and told her to pick whatever she wanted. I got 2 each from different places, and I was instantly in love as soon as I ate the first one. They give you a slew of sauces, a great cucumber relish, some cocktail sauce, and there will be fresh shaved horseradish. So doctor them any way you like, or just a splash of lemon. After the first half dozen had me swooning, I ordered another half and she brought 3 of each from different areas. These were a little bigger then the first course, and just as good. One group had a definite salt taste too it, but it wasn’t overpowering. At 17CAD a half dozen, or 32CAD for a dozen, it’s not cheap. But damn it was good!

Amazing!!! The perfect light dinner/delicious snack stop. We had 2 cocktails, the French 75 and the Tom, Dick & Harry. They were both superb! We also ordered a charcuterie, with Sopressata, raw milk cheddar and Stilton. It also came with mustard, strawberry preserve, in-house pickled veggies and gluten free Rosemary chips. Word cannot describe how good everything was absolutely perfect! The jazzy ambiance and repurpose wood, to make the bar and long table, make a relaxing and quaint experience. I highly recommend a visit when in Hamilton.

Traveling for business and checked the interwebs for recommendations in a place I remembered to be very non«urban». Found a sister property of Two Black Sheep showing in a Google search on Twitter and noticed Two Black Sheep under the follow«similar» list. They had me at #CorpseReviver2 when I spotted the photo in someone’s post and then I checked out the oyster selection! My flight was 4 hours late into Toronto and I was tired when I arrived at the hotel but I was determined to check Two Black Sheep out so I dropped off my bags and walked in the rain with soggy directions in hand. From the moment I walked in the door I knew I had found my place. Records spinning… Paper Plane, Corpse Reviver #2 and other fab cocktails listed on the chalk board and a delectable selection of fresh oysters, charcuterie and artisan cheeses. The Stellar Bay oysters from BC we fresh and wonderful. They give you an incredible selection of things to dress them with but I chose the cucumbers and mignonette. It was perfection. The charcuterie and cheese plate with crisp polenta crackers was next and I was completely satisfied with 3 selections. My Corpse Reviver #2 was as it should be. Color me happy. The owner Erin is nothing short of incredible. She was in the Mission in SF at a place that had oysters and craft cocktails and was inspired to to replicate the vibe in Hamilton, Ontario! Not sure what place that was but she did a great job. The local crowd was friendly, stylish and interesting. The publishers of a great local publication, «urbanicity» were hanging out and if I didn’t know better, I would have sworn I was in Pilsen in Chicago, North Park in San Diego, Williamsburg in Brooklyn or The Mission in SF. The place is cool — it just is. Not sure you will have a reason to travel to Hamilton, Ontario anytime soon but if you do, this accidentally Canadian born, Scottish, Californian, Chicago girl that has traveled the world and loves good food, beer, wine and cocktails recommends you give this place a try. How’s that for an incredibly bad run-on sentence? Peace and remember life is way to short to eat factory food!

This place is great! The only reason they don’t get five stars is because of the limited menu. You either get meat and cheese or oysters. The cocktails are great and the staff very friendly. I’ve come here every time I’m in town and had a great time. This is a sister restaurant of the Rapscallion just down the street. Eat dinner at the Rapscallion and have after dinner drinks here. That’s the way to rock it, you can’t go wrong with that approach.

Absolutely outstanding. This is the most exciting thing to happen to the Hamilton bar scene in a while. Two Black Sheep is truly unique Hamilton experience. I expected a snooty oyster bar but its nothing of the sort. What we found was a totally chill atmosphere with an interesting mix if people all headed up by an utterly amazing staff. The bartenders here are just geniuses. The real gin and tonic i had here, mixed with house made tonic syrup, was a taste sensation like no other I’ve ever had and gave me a full understanding of what a real gin and tonic can be. We drank beer, we had charcutteri and oysters and they were all just as perfect as you could get. I can’t say enough positive about Two Black Sheep. Make a visit as soon as you can.

We were so impressed with this place, can’t believe this is in Hamilton downtown not Toronto! Love the rustic, simple, chic décor and jazz music playing in the background. Great place to grab a drink with friends, or a laid back date night with your special one. I went there with my boyfriend, the two of us order one dozen of oysters(a dozen for $ 32), 7 items charcuterie board(4 charcuterie and 3 cheeses)(7 for $ 23) and 2 cocktails. They carry a good selection of oysters, charcuterie and cheeses, the waitress was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu! Bonus points, amazing cocktails! We tried Negroni and French 75(gin, cava and lemon), both were excellent! Overall, unbeatable experience, the only let down part was that the table beside us was very loud and the tables were quite close to each other.

Great atmosphere — rustic chic décor, jazz playing on the record player — especially for a late-night bite & cocktail or glass of wine. Charcuterie, cheeses & oysters are the sum total of the menu here — but they do it well and with passion. The cocktails are inspired by the prohibition era, and beers are craft or imported. The staff are always friendly, attentive and knowledgeable.

I bookmarked this place prior to my Canadian escapade. On the first day of my vacation, I visited this place without even knowing it. My cousin took me here during their happy hour. Who can say no to $ 1 oysters? Everything was perfect! I loved the ambiance and had a great conversation with the group sitting beside us. The oysters were on point and our waitress was very helpful. I had my first Canadian beer here too and it did not disappoint! Thank you for the recommendations!

Excellent excellent excellent! Amazing selection of about a dozen oysters, 15 cheeses and tonnes of salumi and charcuterie. Love the quality of the cocktails. Really impressive; seems like hamilton’s only adult bar

I live right around the corner and it’s exciting to see new spots like Two Black Sheep popping up downtown. My fiancée and I had half a dozen oysters of different varieties($ 13), a 7-item meat and cheese board($ 23), and 2 cocktails each($ 11 – 13). Everthing was fresh and interesting, and the atmosphere was perfect, with some big band music on the record player. It was quiet when we arrived around 730 and filled up not long after. My only caution is that you should not go in very hungry — a couple of oysters and bites of meat and cheese will not satisfy a big appetite and the bill can add up very quickly(beers start at $ 5.50 if you want to stretch the budget further… but then you’d miss out on the cocktails).

I haven’t even finished eating my meal yet Absolutely amazing I would highly recommend having a seat and telling Dave to just serve you the best possible experience. We are about to enter out third and final course of meal and I’m am more than satisfied. I will be glad to return anytime and sit to an excellent experience of wine and deliciousness.

I was SO impressed with this place! Small joint serving up delicious oysters, and delicious charcuterie — their bartender is awesome and can make some great cocktails. If it’s slow, he’ll listen to what you like and make something based on that. Final touch is the record player for music.

Love this place and love that a place like this has opened up in Hamilton. Made me forget that I even was in Hamilton! A great place for a date or a pre– or post-concert drinks & snacks. They don’t have any«dinner» type offerings, but only charcuterie, cheese plates, and about 8 – 10 different types of oysters to choose from. Great list of local and obscure bottled beers and cocktails galore. Happy hour every day has malpeque oysters for just a $ 1 each! Will definitely return when I’m no longer pregnant and I can enjoy martinis and tonnes of oysters!
