Staybridge Suites Hamilton – Downtown

Very impressed with the hotel room. Bed was very comfy and room was very large. They give you a free bag of popcorn which was nice. Full size fridge and microwave. Staff was very friendly and the hotel is very close to the hockey arena where we went to an Eric church concert. Nightlife was two blocks away and a short walk. Free breakfast buffet which was typical buffet eggs sausage fruit bread waffles etc. Loses a star on parking since there are no signs as to where to park and the lot across the street had one parking spot open which we took… Not sure where we would have parked if someone else had been there first. Anyways would stay for sure if in the area.

Would try another hotel if I have to go to Hamilton again.
— Location is convenient if you don’t mind walking a few blocks to the restaurants and coffee shops. There is no restaurant attached to the hotel. There is a fast food and a convenience store right next to it.
— The neighborhood is a little scary. On the way to the restaurants a few blocks away, we saw 2 mentally-​ill men yelling at people and was asked for money by a women.
— Parking is a joke. The garage for the hotel is small, with about 20 – 25 parking spots. We arrived on a Saturday night and had to wait for almost an hour to get a parking spot, and we didn’t move it at all during the stay because we worried about losing the spot. The hotel staff told us that there is alternative parking on George St but you have to move your car 6am the next day.
— Staff is generally friendly. However, the lady who helped us check-​in had a little but of an attitude. I asked if we could have a King bed. I remember that I chose a standard room and it didn’t specify if it is a Queen or a King. The lady immediately said «No» and handed me my key cards. She could’ve been more polite and said «I am sorry but there isn’t any King bed room available.» Maybe I am picky. But that really put me off a little.
— Room is modern and pretty, with enough space. Bed is comfy. The downside is the room is not as clean as I would like. There was hair on the bathroom sink.
— No water coming out from the faucet of the kitchen. We weren’t using the kitchen. So, we didn’t bother to change the room. b
— Breakfast is… you can get a nice toasted bagel. Other things — the eggs are obviously pre-​beaten eggs. I always prefer fresh eggs so I didn’t like it. They have all the usual — bacon, waffle, muffins, cereal, etc, no oatmeal though.
— They have a nice indoor pool, which is a plus for me. The pool is small. And probably you won’t want to swim in it when somebody else is in it. Fortunately, no one was there. So, I had a nice swim.
— They have a decent fitness room that runs 24 hours.
— They got two computers and a printer/​copier.
— The lobby/​breakfast area is nice. Has some couches and a patio.
Overall, we are not dissatisfied. But if we are going to go to Hamilton again, we will try another hotel for better cleanliness and easier parking ad hopefully nicer eggs for breakfast.
