My family and I stopped in here yesterday for supper. We were seated quickly, and not long after the waitress came by to take our drink orders. Great, but there was a table kiddy corner to us that had been trying to flag her down to place their orders, and finally she acknowledged them. We ordered our meals and they came out fairly quickly, but again it took the other table 10 minutes more than us to get their food, even though their food order was put in at the same time as our drink orders. We were only checked on once during our meal, and when the waitress came back the second time, she cleaned my plate away, along with my son’s, before we were finished eating. We ended up using napkins as makeshift plates. When my son and I were done, I took him to the car because he was getting tired and fussy. My husband stayed behind to pay the bill. As we were walking out, my son(a toddler) was pointing at the desserts display, where I saw a mouldy piece of pie in cling wrap. I tried to get somebody’s attention but was unable to. It took an additional 10 minutes for somebody to come so my husband could pay the bill. In all the food and service were okay, but the mouldy piece of pie ensures I won’t be back.

I came in here today for a quick breakfast, and ended up having lunch. My hubby got a full breakfast with the eggs benedict and progys on the side. He loved it. I got the smaller portion of Butter Chicken, it was actually pretty good. I thought I would have room for the Cramsicle Pie, it looks so good and I love Creamsicles but I just didn’t have room. The service was very good, drinks were always refilled and table always cleared. They look after you here.

Today was the first time that I had ice cream in the morning. Me and six of my closest co-workers went to this Humpty’s location for breakfast today. We were seated right away and quickly issued menus while the waitress took our drink orders. The drinks were served in these big huge-ass glasses but I suspect my orange juice was watered down because it was really thin and watery-like. It was also strangely pulpy. All of the drinks came with a glass of water on the side, just in case it wasn’t diluted enough already. I ordered the Banana Split Waffle which is a Belgian waffle served with banana, strawberries, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and as I mentioned, one scoop of vanilla ice-cream. It was supposed to come with a cherry too but apparently they forgot to add that. I forgot about it too until I started writing this review. This was all kind of heavy and sweet for breakfast but it was a nice break from the same old bacon and eggs. I wouldn’t want to have it every day though. The server was friendly and prompt, except for when one of the guys(for some reason) asked for a glass of ice cubes. She was a little slow in bringing those over. The ice was a little scummy. After he put a few cubes in his orange juice he noticed some floatys in there. He tried to get them out with his straw but they kept swimming around like tadpoles avoiding his grasp. It looked like a lava lamp. We were transfixed. The moral of the story is, don’t ask for extra ice at Humpty’s. When we got our bills we noticed that the waitress had given all of us the senior’s discount — 10% off. That was cool. I don’t know why she did that but it was a nice gesture that warmed the cockles of our hearts. I hope it wasn’t because she thought we were old.
