Very impressed, as always. The food was wonderful. Even after an oops with a food allergies(I was ok was not a huge deal) dealt with professionally. Will come back often, will be living kitty corner soon. Can’t wait to experience more. Thank you guys. Wish I could put our servers name( Unilocal tends to frown on this) she was gracious and pleasant, knowledgeable on all parts of the menu. Thanks guys great job!!!

Overall not a great restaurant. We went as a group for New Years Eve– it really wasn’t as busy as I expected. The service was painfully slow to get drink refills and for the initial drink order. I ordered the chicken– very bland served with green beans with equally no flavor, just not what you would expect when looking at the décor(the restaurant itself is beautiful!). The food and service just don’t do it justice

I find the overall rating for Century Grill difficult — I visited last Friday night for a Christmas dinner with girlfriends, and while the food was good, the service was beyond terrible. Our group of five made a reservation a few weeks ahead of time, and were seated in the main restaurant. The atmosphere is upscale, and nicer than places like earls or Cactus Club. There were many other large parties celebrating the holidays, and despite wearing a skirt and sweater, I felt a little underdressed next to all the cocktail dresses and dress pants. The restaurant was loud, which meant I had to concentrate to keep up with conversations, but it wasn’t as loud as some other open concept restaurants in the city. The menu was pretty standard, with steaks, salads, fish and a variety of appetizers. Prices ranged from $ 15 — $ 50 for an entrée or dinner salad, with seasonal fish being priced at current market value. My choice of the Southwest salad was fantastic. The salad was served with moderately spiced steak, avocado, cheese(not the cheddar listed in the menu, but a creamer cheese I couldn’t place) and a variety of vegetables. The portion was large and I wasn’t able to finish the whole thing. One of my friends ordered a steak and was happy with it, and aside from a seasonal soup that was a thumbs down, everyone was generally happy with their food. Two girls ordered the banana split spring rolls for dessert and both hated it; rather than crepes or phyllo pastry, the chocolate and fruit were wrapped with actual spring rolls and both agreed that the taste and texture was awful. Now, to the service. Our waitress was managing a huge table next to ours by herself, but I don’t feel like that is a valid excuse. Dinner on Friday is by reservation only, so make sure you have enough staff to handle the bookings made. It took forever for us to get water, forever for the waitress to bring up menus, forever to come back and take the orders. The food came at a reasonable speed after we placed the order, but our waitress seemed to have disappeared. Another server came to check on us 10 minutes after we got our food, and we needed him — the soup didn’t come with a spoon and we asked three times for a spoon before one was delivered to the table; an appetizer that was ordered didn’t show up at the table, and a second order for a to-go entrée also hadn’t been placed. The replacement waiter took half our plates, and then 10 minutes later our first waitress showed up to clear the rest of our food. It’s one thing if you are going to an inexpensive burger place for a quick meal and you feel neglected as customers, but it isn’t acceptable when expecting and paying for more high end dining. Three stars rounded up from 2.5 because of the food and atmosphere.

I’m perfectly happy with my visit here and actually quite confused with the 1.5 star current rating. Food was quite tasty and delivered with a swift zoom of speed. Plenty of televisions for your viewing pleasure or else just zip across the hall to the«other» restaurant where there are no TVs and a slightly different feel to the restaurant. Clean, plenty of seating, tons of dining options. I give this a VERYGOOD rating and look forward to my next visit.

I went to Century Grill yesterday for an event. The event itself was poorly organized and a waste of time, but Century Grill’s execution of the event itself was perfect. 5 Reasons why it’s awesome 1. With 70 people in the room, wandering around you could still run a tab. That’s right you other unorganized bars, most customers don’t carry around cash anymore, and paying for 1 drink at a time on your credit card is stupid and annoying. Bars/Restaurants that don’t allow tabs to be ran at events like this are shortsited and have no idea about the loss in revenue. Century took care of it with no problems. None. 2. Great front of house staff. My waitresses, hosts, and even the management were all 100%. Century Grill is part of the century hospitality group, and well, I only expect that. I’ve never had a problem with any of it’s restaurants. 3.Good assortment of beers on tap. I drank everything from Sapporo when it was hot and sunny, to Sleeman’s honey brown. Delicious. 4.Clean and tidy: I’d have no problem recommending this to a friend. 5.$ 6 pints till 7pm. My server even rang in one extra drink at 6.59pm for me! Wow. That’s service. I know other bars would just give you the finger for trying to sneak in one more happy hour priced drink. Reasons Why you might not want to go 1. It’s pricier than the other restaurants in it’s chain 2. Disgusting Lime margaritas. The event gave everybody a lime margarita. From the mountain of discarded drinks, and the unused free drink chits. I would say without a doubt the lime margarita was a monstrosity fit only to be served to people after they’ve had at least 5 other tongue numbing drinks. Reviews of the margarita were«soapy» «aftershave» and«gross.you want mine?»

I’m so sad to see such poor reviews! I’ve been here 3 times now, and yesterday was the first time for lunch. It was a beautiful day so we sat on the patio. It was busy but not packed at lunch time. The tables were very clean — I hate dust on patio tables, as I’m sure everyone does. Service was attentive and efficient. Food was DELICIOUS. we were perusing the menus when the table next to us got their food. Well that was it. We ordered exactly what they had… it just looked so good. Mine was a club sandwhich. Which sounds mundane but was anything but. The kicker for me was the cranberry mayo and the crispy bacon. I even enjoyed the Multigrain bread(or «birdseed bread» as I usually call it) and that’s not something I usually like. The«Century Salad» that came with it was amazing. it had sliced almonds and mandarin oranges with a very light creamy dressing. Although I was full, I didn’t feel stuffed. Which was a very good thing since I got back to my office to find out the AC was broken and we had to work in 29 degrees for the rest of the afternoon! I’ll be back for sure.

I’m writing this review while we are still in the parking lot. We went for the Mother’s day brunch. We had to make a reservation and still had to wait for our table. Then we had to ask for a waitress to take our drink order. My granny asked for water without ice and the waitress still poured her water with ice saying there wasn’t much in it. My granny them picked the ice out. The buffet food was cold and when we asked for hot eggs Benny they made a big deal like«oh you want me to go get it?» They comped 2 of the drink I had but it wasn’t enough to make us come back. The waitress was way too rude!

My husband and I went tonight for an end of summer supper for his work. I DONOT recommend ever going. It is EXTREMELY overpriced(and we didn’t have to pay!) and the food is not very good. To begin, our server seemed grumpy. We really did not enjoy her. If we had any complaints or concerns she was almost rude, and did not apologize or try to make anything better. She was very unhelpful with any questions or concerns we had. She barely came by, and we ended up waiting a long time to order. Second, the food took a really long time to come. I can understand our supper taking a little while but it was a really long wait, and the restaurant was not very busy. Our desserts took about 30 minutes or more to come after we ordered them and most of us ordered cake! Even the coffee someone ordered instead of dessert took a really long time, although they did bring it earlier than the desserts. When she got it, it was cold and the server didn’t seem to care but she did bring her a new one. Third, for the most part the food was not very good. Two ladies ordered a dish that did not mention being spicy in the menu, and the server didn’t tell them it was spicy when they ordered it. One of them is not allowed to eat spicy foods for medical reasons, and when she told the server, all she did was give an extremely insincere«sorry». That was it! I was appalled! My husband and I ordered steaks($ 32) and his was rare although he ordered a medium. He thought about sending it back but the service was so bad he didn’t bother. Neither of us found our steaks very good. I didn’t think it was that difficult to make a good steak, but the flavor was not great. The veggies and potatoes that came with it were pretty good though. Not amazing, especially for the price but they were good. For dessert I ordered the chocolate cake($ 9) and it was divine! I loved it! The best part of the evening! My husband had the Hawaii 5 – 0 Pie($ 10) and he said it wasn’t great. Another guy at the table ordered the cheesecake($ 9) and the server said the flavor of the day was Orange Creamsicle. He and his girlfriend shared it, and after one bite each they both said there was no orange flavor, and it tasted like raspberry. They thought it tasted good so they still ate it, but when they mentioned it to the server, she said«I’ll go check» and then came back 5 minutes later and told them that it was Orange Creamsicle cheesecake with a raspberry syrup on top. I have never tried it, but I would bet orange and raspberry don’t very go together. We’re pretty sure that she made up the orange with raspberry bit because they said there was absolutely no orange flavor to it at all. Fourth, they had the patio doors open because it was a gorgeous day. I do enjoy that usually. I love fresh air, and having some sunlight. But there was a very large amount of bugs around, and one flew onto my plate and got in some of the sauce that was with my veggies. Needless to say, I shoved that bit to the side and avoided it. So, after this ridiculously long review I will conclude by saying that I was very disappointed in this restaurant. The worst part of it was that the service was so terrible. If the server was apologetic, and actually tried to fix the problems, I would be more willing to go back. I can understand that sometimes things happen, and mistakes can be made. But the server was rude and didn’t care. In fact, it seemed like any time we asked for things we were bothering her. If I could give this restaurant 0 stars, I would.

My colleague and I had a 1pm lunch reservation at Century Grill last week. When we arrived we were seated and then waited over 10 minutes without even an acknowledgement or a glass of water.(This was eventually discussed with the manager and the service improved dramatically). My real complaint was the food — my chicken tasted fishy, the risotto was undercooked and the vegetables were nearly raw… it’s hard to safely spear a raw carrot with a fork! My chocolate dessert was wonderful though and helped make up for the rest. I would have liked to discuss this personally with the restaurant but unfortunately they never returned my email.

Massive disappointment! Friend of ours are big fans of the century grill franchises so we went with them to Century Grill and boy was that a mistake. I ordered the ribs with«potato spring rolls». Who ever decided that wrapping mashed potatoes in wonton wrappers and deep frying them would be a good idea should be fired immediately! Thinking about it today still makes me ill! These unseasoned and greasy insults to potatoes were by far the most awful thing I’ve put in my mouth. Once those failed I was hoping my ribs would be satisfactory. I was let down again. They were over cooked an overly fatty. So after a $ 30 dish I was still hungry and extremely upset. I ordered the cheese cake and it was just another let down. I won’t be returning to century grill again and I wouldn’t recommend you do either unless you like to over pay for crap.

With the response from the restaurant, I felt the need to better articulate my criticism to help other potential diners come here(or not) with appropriate expectations. The meal I was served, including menu prices: Grilled Cheese & Tomato: roasted red pepper tomato bisque, goat cheese crostini $ 5(cup) Free Range Chicken pan seared, asparagus & morel mushroom risotto, roasted garlic & thyme jus $ 20 Crème Brulée white chocolate & berry $ 8 Let’s start with the soup. The«grilled cheese» was a soggy crostini with a minimal amount of cheese served half-sunken in the soup. My expectation was something at least a little better than a quarter of a grilled Cheez Whiz sandwich with Campbell’s soup… these expectations not met. Next, the chicken dish: portion size was not what I would expect for $ 20. There was the equivalent of approximately one-half chicken breast, ¼ cup of risotto, two short and skinny asparagus spears, two rock-hard carrots(appeared cooked, but were crunchy enough to be fresh out of the ground), and two cauliflower florets. The«jus» was the only thing plentiful — so much so that the risotto was soggy and mushy. The asparagus was stringy, and along with the plain-looking cauliflower was the only thing left behind on my plate. As for the chicken? Rubbery, with the outside having the texture not dissimilar from a freezer-burned piece of meat. The crème brulée? While very tasty, the texture was off… grainy and lumpy would be the best description. And for the whole package? Well, let’s just say I don’t think I’ve ever in my life had a meal that cost $ 33 and left me hungry — especially a lunch meal. At least not until this underwhelming experience at Century Grill.

I’m not sure what everyone is complaining about, I have had two wonderful experiences at Century Grill. The first time was with co-workers and the second with my mom. Both times we have had unbelievably delicious food and fine wine! We ended up there one night when it was half price wine night… one bottle of delicious red wine later … The servers have always been friendly and the food was cooked to perfection! I would highly recommend Century Grill to anyone! I’ve sent my mom back here with a group of friends because I was able to book a reservation online and I know that they would treat her and her friends well! The prices are reasonable considering you are paying for a fine dinning experience!

This place is decent. My first impression is that it’s overpriced but in terms of the quality(not taste) of the food, drinks, service, as well as the overall décor, maybe its worth it. That being said, will I go back? Probably not.

I found this place a little pricey for my liking… For the quality you get. The food was OK but I have definitely had better for the price. Salmon on a bed of barely cooked rice? The calamries were tasteless, the steak was over cooked, the Parmesan in the Ceasar salad was so dry you couldn’t bite into it… Come to think of it, the best thing I tried(we were 6 people at the table with 6 different plates) was the appetizer of beef tartar! The only thing NOT cooked was the BEST thing at the table. Is that a sign? I’m not sure I’d go back. Or if I was forced to go back, I’d stick to a couple of appetizers of beef tartar.

My spouse and I were given a Groupon to this place and we decided we had better give it a go before it expired. I read some reviews before going and was hoping that maybe my experience would be a bit better. Unfortunately, it was just like everybody was saying it was. Terrible!!! Poor service, subpar food, a pretty mediocre night at best. We had booked our reservation and showed up about five minutes prior to that. Despite that fact, we were still kept waiting for 20 minutes in the front lobby for a table, which I think is pretty ridiculous considering we had a reservation and had not shown up late. The girls working in the front pretty much ignored us and just talked amongst themselves until a table was ready for us, which was not the greatest first impression. We ordered one of the menu’s featured«for two» dinner, which came with a salad, a sharable entrée and dessert. The salad that came out first consisted of wilted butter lettuce, a TON of mayo-based dressing and some canned mandarin orange pieces. It was pretty bad — I’ve had better salads in cafeterias and gas stations. Next up was the entrée, which was a chicken breast, a tenderloin, some scalloped potatoes and some vegetables. The meal was under seasoned, the veggies very undercooked(raw!) and to boot — it was all presented on one plate — but we were not given dinner plates! So we had to eat off this one plate between the two of us, which was very complicated considering there was steak involved. Now, normally I would have asked the waiter for plates, or something — but we barely saw the guy all night. He didn’t even drop off any of the meals or check up on us — he basically just took our order, buggered off for an hour and a half and then showed up to clear our plates. About half an hour after we were DONE our meal, the guy came by and grabbed our plates and we were brought dessert(which was the best part of the meal — chocolate cake). But after we finished our dessert, we had to wait ANOTHER twenty minutes for our plates to get picked up, and then ANOTHER ten minutes after THAT to even get our bill. Overall, it was just a terrible evening. Century Grill is a nice place but I don’t know what kind of brand they are trying to make for themselves with terrible service and mediocre, boring food. Avoid them at all costs if you can — there are dozens of places better in the city. McDonalds being one of them.

The first time I went to Century Grill was just for drinks and it was around Halloween. They tried to do the cutesy decorating in the lounge and it looked like the staff members were going to go out for a party as they were all dressed up and sitting at the bar. You know they are staff members when there are several open tables, but they chose to sit at the bar. It was my friend’s birthday so I didn’t really pay too much attention to anything else. The drinks were fine. The second time I actually went for dinner with a friend. Century Grill is known for grilling things, especially Alberta beef. So I had the filet with mashed potatoes and the vegetable of the day. The food was good. It was quite similar quality to the Keg except that Century Grill tries to be trendier and is more expensive. Plus our server, oh boy, ha-ha our server… He was special. He needed to learn how to take cues on when people are ready to order. He came over probably every 15 minutes during the entire time we were there. It was almost impossible to keep a conversation going between the two of us with him interupting all the time. However many times you check up on us does not equal good service. If I want a good steak I think I’ll stick with the Keg next time.

I would say the food and service was pretty decent. I have no complaints on that. I had a good lobster wrap at lunch time with fries. The wait staff and host staff were very friendly. The only reason I would not give it more stars is because of the atmosphere and crowd. Since this is a pricier place, why does it look so much like an Earls? Either lower the price, or set yourself apart a little. I don’t like chains, but would actually go to Earl’s because there are more people there. This is just a constructive commentary, as I think you guys are doing well otherwise. DT

The service and food here are pretty terrible. The server brought the wrong drinks and the food was cold. Some meals were tasteless while others had an excessive salt flavor. The chicken was dry and old it seemed. Also some of the glasses were dirty! This restaurant has really gone down in quality over the years. They charge you a high quality price but you get low quality in return.

Made a reservation to go to Century last night with my family. We’re from California, so I must admit we have pretty high standards for restaurants. To put it simply, we weren’t let down. This place isn’t cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for. First, I started off with a Keiths’ Red Ale, which, poured from the tap, was delicious. It wasn’t too heavy and complimented the rest of my diner well. We ended up with a sort of spinach salad and a artichoke/spinach dip(with chips) for appetizers. They were both very well done. The only main course I can comment on is the seafood linguini. Served in a light tomato sauce, it had mussels and other assorted seafood. Hearty portion and delicious. Finally, we got the $ 15 dessert platter. It included some decadent chocolate ice cream, chocolate/cherry pie(which resembled fudge more than pie), and a berry/swirl crème brulée. Every last bit of it was delicious and was more than enough for 5 people after a huge meal. The service was good and our waiter was chatty without being imposing or neglectful of other customers. The only gripe I have is that even with a reservation, we had to sit in plastic chars out on the patio. The inside is *much* fancier, even in the lounge area. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a moderately upscale dinner.
