I have absolutely zero complaints about this hotel! The beds are relatively comfortable, the free breakfast is exactly what you would expect, and most of the rooms are suites! What more could you ask for? The other thing I really like about this place is the option to have your room cleaned. Instead of wasting resources(water to wash sheets, cleaning products, etc), they request that you only get the cleaning service if the room absolutely needs it. I don’t know anyone who cleans their house that well daily, so why expect the same at a hotel? :)

Great value for your money! We spent the weekend at the Staybridge and had a wonderful time. Our room had a full size fridge with ice machine, dishwasher, and a two element stove top, microwave, and all the basic pots, pans, utensils, glasses, wine and bottle openers etc . Complimentary breakfast is offered daily. First day was bacon, scrambled eggs, various cereal, hard boiled eggs, variety of fresh fruit, French toast, yogurt, toast, bagel, milk, juices, oatmeal, make your own waffle station, hash browns, muffins, and toppings such as cheese, tomato, cucumber. There was also an herbed flatbread topped with scrambled egg, cheese, bacon, and tomato. Second day offered everything listed above in addition to sausages and and omelet filled with bacon, onion, peppers, cheese, and ham. A tea and coffee station is also available next to the dinning area. Overall, an pretty decent variety for a complimentary breakfast! There is little shop called«the pantry» which is open 24⁄7 and sells various items like microwave dinners, pizza pops, chips, chocolate bars, snacks, and other items you may have forgotten at home. This hotel also offers free laundry! There is a room with several machines so you can do your own laundry. I didn’t go into the fitness area but looking through the window it appeared to have the basics… Treadmills, exercise bike, weights etc. The pool had a waterslide and was never busy. We loved the pool and went everyday. The hotel offers a complimentary«social» event Tuesday through Thursday evening 5pm-7pm. There is a complimentary light meal offered which changes each night for this event. There are complimentary board games and a guest book exchange in the lounge area. What I didn’t enjoy… The sofa bed! Or lord, the sofa bed!!! Do not, let me repeat, DONOT plan on using the sofa bed. The mattress is extremely thin and spring filled. The springs dig into you and it feels like you’re sleeping on a a rack of metal. The mattress also dips in at the center so you roll into the middle of the bed. We opted to share the double bed instead of having to utilize the sofa bed. The hotel breakfast provides plastic utensils. On the first day we were offered regular plates, but on the second day styrofoam plates were provided. This needs to change. Regular plates, utensils, and glasses should be offered. Styrofoam and plastic are horrible for the environment. If you have to provide and alternative please consider paper plates/glasses and regular utensils. We would definitely stay here again! It had everything we needed and expected and more!

It is what it is… a suite hotel near the airport. Staff is friendly and the suites are well sized with functional kitchens and kept clean. You have to have wheels, but this is Calgary.

Staybridge is a 2-stars hotel for a 3-stars price. There is nothing around it, not even sidewalks, and the nearest car rental is a couple of miles northwest in Royal Inn. Closest bus station is around the block, and it will take you downtown in just about 40 minutes. If you stay there, you are trapped in boredom, in a middle of industrial parks. Relatively close to the airport and a couple of decent restaurants, though. Oh, there is also that Sunridge Mall couple of miles northeast, so if you don’t mind walking the curb(in the summer) or plowing through the piles of snow and mud(in winter) for 15 – 20 minutes, you may get there and relax a bit. There are two or three washing machines in a common laundry, most of them broken or occupied, so you’ll have fun times getting your laundry done. Two treadmills and one machine in a gym room. A swimming pool which you can smell directly from the lobby. Breakfast is as unhealthy as you can imagine — plastic fries, wooden sausages, synthetic scrambled eggs — and it’s all the same day by day… Fruits are ok, if you like the yester-week bananas. Staff is friendly, though room service is not quite passionate about keeping your place clean. I lived in this hotel for a couple of months due to work and this is a model«don’t go there, kid!» place for me ever since.

We used Staybridge for most of our stays in Reno and recently in Calgary. I just wish Staybridge would open one up in Jasper or Banff. The place is spotless and kids friendly. The rate is fairly affordable and they offer free breakfast. In the evening, they also offer fruits and hot chocolate drinks(in the winter). If you bring your detergent, you can wash your clothes for free(Reno). I have not used the laundry service in Calgary. Overall, I would pick Staybridge over the Fairmont Banff Springs; the beds are more comfortable, has a kitchen, a living room and most importantly the place is spotless. Thank you Staybridge for providing such a wonderful and comfortable place for us to say. It feels like home.
