The place is at a busy location aand there were a lot of people. We ordered steak, rib, pasta, all tasted bad. Not recommended.

This is equivalent to most steakhouse franchises(Moxie’s, Kelsey’s, Swiss Chalet, etc). I found the service better than the food. We came as a group of 10 for a later dinner about 8pm. The waitress, May was impressive. She served everybody attentively, swiftly and made no order mistakes. I got the grilled Mahi Mahi with rice pilaf and broccoli, about $ 30. It was only mediocre. The fish had a nice charred taste, but was dry. The broccoli was mashed to pieces and the pilaf had no flavour. I got the maple butter sauce, which didn’t match the fish. The potato skins were okay, crispy and cheesy though oily.

My daughter wanted to go somewhere familiar however this was like no other Tony Romas we have been to. We were there early about 5:00pm and only two other tables in our section. Waitress only came by twice in the 45mins. Not once with the extra napkins. We both had ribs and both ½ racks were overcooked with more fat then meat on them. Could not complain as we did not see the waitress for 20 minutes. The bathroom was impossiable to find as you have to go through a lobby into the lounge and oh wait I could not find it and gave up. Will not go back.

Very disappointing. For a place that’s supposedly famous for ribs, it’s one thing no take on the menu.

Just ok… It was not really bad; however I think it definitely can be better! The food was ok… But nothing spectacular… Considering all good places available in Banff, they should look into improving so they can be competitive with the rest of restaurants around them.

My friend and I stopped in for lunch after finding the restaurant that we wanted to go to was closed. The soup and sandwich lunch special was great. Both of us were pleasantly surprised by the portion and price of our meals. We’ll definitely be going back when we’re in Banff again.

My wife and I walked in to the half-fulled Tony Roma’s on a Thurs. chilled night in September. We did not understand why we were seated in a tiny table. The restaurant was quite empty and has a lot of empty tables and seats. Most of the big tables were occupied by only two table, except us. Before the food came, I made my request for a big table with the manager. We seated in a bigger table. The food was terrible. The rice came with my wife’s steak dish was raw. The rice tasted like frozen food straight out from a freezer. Pathetic service and disgusting food.

We went for dinner as a party of seven. I had fish and chips which was tastier than it looked. However, it was over-priced. Everyone’s food was pretty good but you will pay a vacation destination premium on everything. The service was good. The place is on the main drag so it’s easy to get to. Parking is a problem but can be found if you’re persistent.

If you are looking for a great opportunity to get food poisoning or just to throw up in your mouth, you have come to the right place. Where to begin? My wife ordered the calamari Cesar salad. First of all, the drinks and the appetizer took half a century to arrive and, when they did, the Cesar tasted funny and not fresh at all, and the calamari were too chewy. Second, I ordered the 10 oz. New York steak. I asked for it medium rare, but it came as rare as if it had just been slaughtered in the kitchen. I ate it on principle, but my wife could not eat her chicken strips; they were too chewy and fried to a crisp. Third, the coleslaw we both got was just garbage to say the least. When we asked for the manager, he acted surprised and, holding the chicken in his fingers, declared it to be «tender.» It was anything but. In retrospect, we thought that this«restaurant» must be some sort of cruel joke because no human should eat this sort of horrific food. In the end, after our complaint, they did take the offending items off the bill, but we still ended up paying $ 68(no tip to the useless waiter) for what will, no doubt, in just a few hours, will turn into a trip to the hospital. Stay away from this house of gastronomical horrors at all cost!

My wife and I had been to this Tony Roma’s 6 years ago and decided to go back during our recent visit. We had enjoyed the food and our visit then, and decided to go back. I had wanted to try the Prime Rib, but we were too early(late lunch). I decided to go for the Ribeye. Boy, was I glad I did. I was not disappointed. The meat was seasoned perfectly, grilled to perfection and each bite melted in my mouth. Some places cannot cook a good«Medium Rare» — it looks closer to Rare. This had just the right amount of Pink. My wife did enjoy her fish as well, but hey — I’m a steak guy. If you live near Tony’s, you know how good it is. If you’re planning a trip to Banff — or just passing through — add«Eat at Tony Romas» to your list and you will be glad you did.

Honestly, I don’t understand why this restaurant has negative reviews. We went there over the long weekend and it was obviously packed with people. We were told it was going to be a wait, but the man at the front took our names down and we went for a walk. When we came back twenty minutes later we were urged to wait in the lounge but we only waited about 5 minutes more before we were seated and our server got us our drinks right away. We both ordered the Fillet Medallions & Rib’s combo and hooooolllyyy was it ever good! I am seriously talking about melt in your mouth ribs. I rarely finish everything off my plate but this time both my friend and I finished absolutely everything off our plates. I would recommend this place, and this particular location a thousand and one times, totally exceeded my expectations, especially since it was a long weekend and the restaurant was super busy with plenty of other people.

I don’t know why some people rated this restaurant really bad points. I was here with my friend and had a great dinner, the food was so good and decent price. Service was excellent, our server always checked back to see if we need some help and make sure everything is ok

I love Tony Roma’s and have eaten at their restaurants ever since I was a kid. While I love the restaurant in general this was a rather unfortunate experience. The cole slaw was disgusting. Couldn’t tell if it was old or just not seasoned properly. The wait staff were very good. The burger was not so good. A bit dry and not what I’ve come to expect from Tony Roma’s over the years. Maybe it was an off day? Always good ribs tho.

Somewhat like Applebee’s gone wrong, this place depressed the hell out of me. The hostess placed us in a dark, gloomy side of the restaurant where the seat cover was ugly and there was no one else dining. The waiter was alright. The food was less than satisfactory. I ordered a basil pesto mahi mahi linguine, but there was barely any basil sauce– just a small pile on top of the mahi mahi, which was very mediocre. The vegetable rotini soup of the day tasted and looked like regular canned soup. Just an overall sad place.

Nothing flash, but not terrible either. Fairly cheap steak, OK ribs, big portions, no wait to get in, inoffensive wine. When you just want meat it’ll do

Vegan eating at its finest — lol. Ok, so my brother was in town and we took him to Banff. I have to say that 99% of the restaurants there are gross, meat eater or not, so I didn’t put up a fight. Well, I should’ve. A restaurant that can’t make a salad… shouldn’t have one on the menu. The booths were dirty, the floor was dirty and some of the paintings were saranwrapped. Ugh. Filth. If you have no tastebuds I’m sure anything covered in BBQ sauce tastes half decent.

What a gong-show! We walked in to a half-full restaurant. We waited too long to seated, but it appeared that only two servers were working. When we were seated we were told 5 minutes until the buffet was refilled. We waited, sipped some coffee because they wouldn’t serve juice since it was available at the buffet. We went up to the buffet to discover it mostly empty… even the juice dispenser was empty. So we grabbed what we could, and waited some more. 15 or so minutes the same 4 items were refilled to a flock of hungry, waiting customers. That food did not last long. So there was a whole restaurant of anxious, hungry customers(im)patiently waiting for food.

We stayed at the Mount Royal for two nights, and had a voucher for breakfast here. We used it on our first morning… the food was decent until I got to the toasting station. Mouldy bread! Yuck! I brought it to the attention of the supervisor, and he promptly replaced it and offered to comp us the next day’s breakfast(since this day was already complementary with our room). Overall, the service here was incredible — very attentive, above and beyond for making the customer happy. They’d have 4 stars if it weren’t for the mould.

Worst food ever… very disappointed. First our waitress came to our table ONLY to take our orders and deliver the food. Other than that she disappeared. I literally had to leave the table, walk to the kitchen area, and ask for the steak knife that she failed to give us with the food and after I asked her for it specifically. How are we suppose to cut our steak without a steak knife!!! And then! I almost had to walk up again to get our check. Ridiculous… I mean seriously?! I work in the restaurant business too and I know how hard it is to get to everyone when its busy… BUT it wasn’t busy! Worse than that, the food was unappetizing. My dads prime rib was suppose to be median rare but came out well, tough, and dry. My ribs were half the size they usually are. Tiny ass ribs. The fish had no flavor and then the veggies weren’t even seasoned. How can u mess up veggies!!! Dear lord… save yourselves… don’t eat here…

Oh man… shoulda read Unilocal before going. Tony Roma… what happened? I remember as a kid, Tony Roma’s was the best place to go for a great rib meal. Has my tastes changed, are other places just doing better ribs, or has Tony forgot his main role… to cook good ribs. I don’t know what it is but what a disappointment! The onion loaf was probably the greasiest thing I’ve ever eaten! The ribs were extremely tough… I can even cook better ribs. Come on Tony… Shape up
