You have got to take your hat off to any Alcohol shop that does not sell absolutely shite wines and that has a lot of reasonably priced tipples. Well Vintage Cellars ticks both of those boxes. You won’t find any wines here that would be more suited being sold in a goon sack and there are specials of great wines always scattered throughout the store. I also like the way they do their specials. They seem to like offering two wines at remarkably cheaper prices that buying a single. Its not like I need to be encouraged to buy two bottle of vino, so I am happy to get the discount. Vintage Cellars have their own brand of cleanskins as well. Which are mostly around the $ 10 mark and in my experience are all really good wines. Their beer selection isn’t all that bad either.

This place is awesome for a good bottle of wine. I’ve been here a few times over the years. It’s particularly handy when finding a decent bottle for a birthday present. Vintage Cellars also have good deals on bulk purchases. This particular store has a pretty good range of everything, from wines and beers, to spirits.

Melbourne can be a hard place to find a bottle of wine, with many of its supermarkets and convenience stores being decidedly dry. So when I found myself in South Yarra on my way to watch the rugby at a friend’s and with nary an IGA in sight, I hit Vintage Cellars for a bottle — or two — of vino. Granted, a majority of stock costs more per bottle than I pay in rent for a week but if you look closely there are some bargains to be had. Stocking an incredible array of wine, beer, cider and spirits along with drinking paraphernalia such as wine glasses and more, I’d defy anyone with a penchant for good wine to visit Vintage Cellars and leave empty handed. I picked up two bottles of great New Zealand wine for $ 18 — one of the many two for one deals on offer — along with a bottle of Rekorderlig Cider for a very reasonable $ 6.99. IGA be damned, for booze Vintage Cellars is definitely the place to go.
