A good enough venue with potential. I came here as part of an event so I can’t speak for the normal crowd. I liked the outdoor beer garden and they had a pretty good DJ set when I was there. A solid 3 stars.

When you think Uni-bar, you think cheap drinks, a dive, pool tables, bad music, and a bunch of snotty nosed little know it alls. But the Loft is different. Tucked away off broadway, hidden between multiple buildings, is this little gem. I’m not new to the loft, as a DJ I’ve played many Saturday nights here in the past, but its not the kind of place that has ever stuck in my mind as a «place to go for a quiet drink». The big courtyard and tree are easily the centre piece here, again, not expecting a tree of this size to be growing hidden behind multiple buildings, the atmosphere is relaxed and its nice and quiet, with no street noise. Even with all the positives, its still not a place I would think to myself«oh, I havent been there in a while, lets check it out», and I’m not sure why. Maybe because its attached to a Uni, and it has that stigma in my mind, but I’m going to try change that, because as a venue, the loft is a great little, most likely under appreciated little space of peace and quiet.

Wow wow wow wow. I have to confirm what all the other reviews say– This bar really is a hidden gem in the city. It is a little hard to find but that truly adds to its charm! You are welcomed into a leafy courtyard by a large tree with fairy lights and alley-way style lighting along the walls. The downstairs bar is large an open, seems like they have a good set up for DJs, bands, dancing, the whole kit & kaboodle! Upstairs has two rooms, an intimate lounge area and a funky looking boardroom. I was invited to an event here and I honestly couldn’t spot a thing wrong, from the pizza, with bases that were soft & divine, to the service– the bartenders were super friendly and speedy! And even the atmosphere and lighting was great! This is a winner– and has a totally different vibe compared to other snobby city bars. I will be back! Thanks for the great night!

The Loft UTS is tucked away in an alley next to UTS on Broadway. I came here for the Unilocal Black and White Party and was unsure of where to find it. So I was walking along Broadway and spotted a small sign«The Loft» in the alley. So i ventured down the alley and was greeted with an open outdoor bar. The Loft UTS is a hidden little gem. It has a big outdoor area, and upstairs there is a function room as well as other areas which can be booked out. They serve pizza which the owner(i think) said has a special ingredient, «love»… Lol too cute. The pizza’s had a thin base, and was jam packed full of flavour. I had the cheese pizza which was garlicky, cheezy and oh so delicious. I would come here again if I was in the area. I think the Loft would benefit from better signage outside on the street.

Very cute bar and courtyard. Really enjoyed seeing it all decked out for the Unilocal Elite event tonight. The upstairs seating area is comfy, with nice lighting, and I liked the huge Led Zeppelin print on the wall(I’d recognize Robert Plant anywhere). Overall, the place has a nice, laid back feeling. If I were a UTS student, I’d be hanging out here all the time. As it is, it was nice to get a preview of the place. It is a little tricky to find, but maybe that’s part of the charm as well.

Amazing what a few short steps can do to change your mood. Rolling in here from the hustle and bustle of Broadway and Central Station, you immediately slow your roll and start to relax. There’s a cool courtyard area to sit in and have a drink and bullshit with whoever you’ve run into in here. The service is great, with friendly waitstaff which is always a plus in Sydney, which can be a bit hit or miss we’ve found. The pizzas that they just started serving are a nice compliment to the spot, since they’re not huge hulking cheese covered monstrosities, but more manageable sized slices of heaven. Look forward to coming in here again when they have a DJ or band on, since it’s got the perfect set up for dancing your face off inside, and then the courtyard to catch your breath in. Just make sure you keep your eye out for the alley into here, it’s easy to miss and the signage seems to blend into the wall…

A very tucked away and hidden gem conveniently located next to UTS(DISCLAIMER: I didn’t study at UTS so probably would not have known about it too much). Was there for a Unilocal Elite event which gave a good preview of the place. The place as a courtyard, bar area and upstairs lounge for«studying». Whats missing was the fact it needs some free wifi(word has it at the Unilocal Party was there is, but I couldn’t find the hotspot). I’ll definitely want to come back to see if its a good place for working/studying(particularly interested in the upstairs lounge).

Home to the lazing, grazing(and boozing) students of the University of Technology, you’ll find a collection of all sorts at this place. They have a shaded courtyard outside which is lovely to sit at in the warmer months; the place for sipping on a coffee in the morning, or a vodka raspberry at night. However, it’s also a popular spot with the smokers so I tend to skip this part and head straight in. The bar itself is well equipped with cheap drinks for a uni student’s budget — mojito jugs for $ 10, sangria($ 10) and three other alcoholic concoctions for $ 15. If a chill-out spot is what you’re after, head upstairs to the lounge. It’s a great comfy spot with oversized lounge chairs to catch up with friends during the week, group meetings or those ever-popular end of exam parties. Live music kicks off every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights to liven up the end of the week.

Loft @ UTS is cool little bar located opposite Central(under the UTS tower). It’s a great little intimate bar that serves reasonably priced drinks with a really good atmosphere. It mostly caters to the postgrad students at UTS, however everyone is welcome. The bar is not very easy to find — you’ve been warned! It’s got a great courtyard where you can sit and chat with friends. This place also gets a lot of creatives from the nearby ad agencies and design firms, which gives it a good mix of people. The Vodka and Cokes are $ 5 making this place very popular.
