This place is absolutely fantastic. The one thing I couldn’t get over(and am grateful for) are the affordable prices! You get such a decent sandwich for under $ 10AU! It’s super filling and absolutely what every sandwhich should aspire to be. So grateful my coworkers took me here for lunch one day! The only sandwich I’ve gotten/stayed loyal to is the Chicken Schnitzel. Absolute perfection.

My new favourite sandwich place in Surry hills. The Chicken schnitzel wrap was still warm when it was handed to me. The Mayo chipotle was yum. Oh did I mention half price brownies every Tuesday? Mark your calendar.

Sandwiches & salads for ~$ 10. Thursday’s special is sandwich or salad, drink, & a sweet treat for $ 15. Salads aren’t mixed & dressing sits at the bottom so make sure to stir them to enjoy the layered variety & great dressing. The BBQ braised pork was only ok. Their desserts smelled heavenly but I didn’t try any in an attempt to be good. Line can get pretty long. Limited seating available indoors & outdoors. All white, plain branding makes it look more sophisticated than it actually is.

Theses guys do one of the best breakfast egg & bacon rolls in Sydney. But please bring back that yummy brioche roll. It gave the whole concoction the X factor. Great coffee too and wifi. Love the share tables complete with whiteboard texture and markers for those random brainstorming sessions! Love.

This tiny, clean li’l shop is found in Surry Hills’ Reservoir street. For under $ 9 you can get a pretty substantial sandwich. They have 9 different kinds of sandwiches, daily specials, and a make-your-own-sandwich option if nothing strikes your fancy. I chose the Philly cheesesteak sandwich(a special, it’s not on their website menu if you take a look). I got my takeaway order super fast in a brown paper bag. The sandwich itself was on the biggish side. Sadly, it didn’t taste like a genuine Philly cheesesteak, but it was still pretty tasty. The ingredients are obviously high quality and the sandwich felt well put together vs. random sandwiches(like the ones I make, for example) where everything’s just schlepped on. Probably won’t order the Philly cheesesteak if I see it next time, but I WILL be back to try their other sandwiches.

Fresh baked bread, warm chicken schnitzel, with thick slices of provolone cheese and a side of avocado… my mouth is watering just thinking about yesterdays lunch at The Sandwich Shop. Mmm… if you are lucky enough to work in Surry Hills — this is a place you should definitely add to your week day lunch rotation. McKay had the pulled pork sandwich on sourdough with warm BBQ sauce. Amazing. He ate it so quickly I didn’t even have a chance to take photo. Both sandwiches were under $ 9 and generous in size for that price. We will be back again for sure.

Sandwiches, sandwiches, SANDWICHES!!! Like Joey from Friends, I love me some sandwiches. I believe this place opened less than a month ago, and I noticed it when I went to Single Origin one day and made a note to check it out. As its namesake states, this place is a simple sandwich shop. The interior is cozy, the people friendly, and the music sets the mood. Me gusta. The place is clean, straight to the point with natural and fresh ingredients, affordable(under $ 10!) and tasty to boot. They don’t do sides except for the bread they serve during breakfast, and they also have salads if you don’t want to have a sandwich. Let’s be real here though, why would you go to The Sandwich Shop and not order a sandwich? Depending on the sandwich, you get to choose what kind of bread you’d like as well between rye, sourdough, and whole wheat. The sandwiches on tap are: Chicken Schnitzel The Sandwich Club Rare Roast Beef Tuna + White Bean Smoked Salmon Bagel The Original New York Reuben Pulled Pork The Ultimate Salad Sandwich You can also create your own sambo if you like. My friend and I ordered the Rare Roast Beef and The Original New York Reuben. If you like cheese, you will like the Rare Roast Beef. The Fontina Cheese used to top this was massive and flavourful. The roast beef could have been a bit more rare for my taste but it was still very good nonetheless. The Reuben… the reuben was great. I wouldn’t call it the Original New York Reuben but that’s not a bad thing. The Reuben served here was very high quality, as the beef is a thicker and juicier slice than you’d get with a New York Reuben. The cheese, sauerkraut and dressing were great as well. Definitely the best«Reuben» I’ve had in Sydney so far. If you like sandwiches you can’t go wrong here. I’ll have to come back to try the others.
