Don’t expect a Chicago hot dog(and by that I don’t mean the toppings, I mean the actual hot dog). I’ve been craving a real American hot dog since I got here and this place was recommended. I left disappointed. I wouldn’t be annoyed enough to leave a review except that I told them when I ordered that I’m from Chicago and I’m expecting a real vienna beef style hot dog and they said absolutely! Not even close. The search continues…

Went here today for lunch and ordered a hot dog with cheese only(sometimes some meals do not need to be complicated and have a thousand condiments to be enjoyable). The service was fast and friendly although the 2 staff members looked extremely uncomfortable and a little sweaty due to the lack of airconditioning. I did notice the can of rexona next to the container of pork crackling which was slightly amusing although I’m sure some people would be a little precious about this but glad to see that the were aware of any odour they might omit due to the temperature. Perhaps if the owners could look after the comfort of their staff and the customers who may choose to eat in. hhmmm… I was given my meal and it is what it is, a cheesedog and i loved it! Soft hotdog bun, an actual hotdog and not sausages, served with cheese just like I asked for. The only thing i have to say i didnt entirely enjoy was the seasoning on the fries. It was over seasoned and some people like myself prefers just plain ol salt most days. The seasoning they use had a tiny little kick of spicyness to it. Will come back here again to try the burgers and other hot dogs.

Have only had the one hot dog here. Wasn’t a fan. But it could be because I got a boiled frankfurt, whereas I was expecting a grilled sausage. There’s nothing quite like the snap of a well grilled snag, but alas, it was not meant to be. Was also expecting the a soft hot dog bug, but it’s a crusty roll. Not that there’s anything wrong with crusty rolls. But personally, I like my hot dogs on legit hot dog rolls. The US style american mustard and other toppings were quite good(it was the ‘classic’ hot dog). I’ll have to go back to see if they have grilled sausage hot dogs. Or perhaps to try one of their burgers.

Average burger, nothing particularly special about it and it had too much BBQ sauce. The bun was stale and the Spanish onion cut too thickly. The melted cheese sauce was good though. With chur burger and the royal right around the corner I really wouldn’t bother going here again. Also not as good as Mary’s burgers. The service was quick though and it was cheep — $ 8.90 for a burger.

I am so damm happy that I’m going to the gym tonight as I’ve just finished carb loading with this«El Carbons» burger. Basically take a burger, add bacon(of course) and smother the meat pattie in a melted cheese sauce. While I would have loved a pickle on the side or a spicy chilli sauce to cut through the cheese, it was still a damm fine burger. And for $ 8.90!!! O_o you can get no complaints from me. Ok… Maybe one complaint… Their menu is soooo loooong… It is going to take ages to try them all…

Friend works in Surry Hills and saw people handing out flyers, so we made a note to check it out. I went on their FB page and it had this promo on it: «FEELINGHUNGRY? It’s almost lunch time and we’re giving out FREE samples of burgers, hotdogs and sandwiches from 12.30pm — 2.30pm daily from Tuesday to Friday. Mention this Facebook post when requesting your free lunch. Stock’s are limited so hurry.» So we rock up today, showing them this promo and what do you know, they said they’re not aware of this promotion even though it’s advertised on their Facebook page. The cashier says she’ll speak with the manager who then says they’re sold out of free samples(bold faced lie) but will give us a free chilli dog as a favour. This place is great at building customer satisfaction eh? I decline the chilli dog, friend accepts and I order a El Cabrones, which is wagyu beef, lettuce, avocade, onion, bacon, chipotle sauce, and pickles… sounds promising right? This may have been one of the worst burgers I’ve had in my life. I couldn’t even finish it. Those that know me know I have a high tolerance for food, especially burgers and will eat almost anything. It’s a sad day when I DON’T want to finish something. If you’re boasting about using wagyu for a burger, don’t: 1) Overcook the meat. What’s the point of a well done burger? 2) Abstain from seasoning said meat. There was no flavour in the burger 3) Use sourdough for a bun. What’s with using super dry bread with super dry meat? I’m not a fan of sourdough on a burger, that’s just not right. I suppose if you like Grill’d you would like this place(I hate Grill’d) They do offer 4 chips with each burger for free GREATVALUEEVERYONE!!! The chilli dog tasted like cardboard coated with ketchup and mustard. Don’t do this to yourselves. Don’t go here unless you like punishing yourself for sins you may have done to others.
