I’ve heard rumours that this place is shutting down in north stratty! Is that true! Awwwww! Where am I going to grab my green tea latte and Cinnabon scroll from now? Amazing green tea lattes and the softest cinnamon scrolls you will ever eat! If you ask for a scroll you have to have it warmed up for sure! Great for big groups and great for studying and just café loungin with a few friends!

My sweet memories of this place are all but faded. Yes I went there. I used to frequent this place regularly but i can no longer tolerate spending for quality that has gone so downhill. Coffees start at $ 4.40 for a long black– that’s more than Sydney CBD prices. I used to let the ridiculous prices slide as drinks were well made and consistent, but can no longer justify the wallet drainage. I’ve been getting the ice drinks for years, and seen first hand the epic drop in flavor. From what used to be flavor packed goodness in a plastic cup, an ice chocolate has become blended ice with an essence of chocolate, and the infamous Green Tea Ice Blend is now a green colored ice drink. Far from it’s glory days(management and staff have changed). Yes, it gives you a place to sit and chat with friends but it’s definitely become a factory with sub standard drinks. I won’t be choosing to have my catch up drinks here any longer.

I always go here with my friends for blended green tea, ice chai, and their mochas are amazing! Also the five layers of heaven in the red velvet cake !

A decent place to hang out that serves reasonable coffee. There was a varied selection of desserts but we didn’t try but I can say that the majority of people only come here for the drinks and hang out while sipping their beverages. There are a few tables outside which would be good for people watching right in the middle of Strathfield’s busy side. The place also sells stationary and it is decked out quite well and doesn’t look like your standard café. The whole coffee/dessert scene is quite competitive in Strathfield and MSM seems to be coping quite well. At the moment, the demand is quite high so most places are enjoying being profitable. It will be interesting if Strathfield becomes less of a late evening hangout location? Service was pretty efficient, didn’t take long for our drinks to arrive at all.

Part café — Part Stationary store. Don’t worry, they won’t dust pencil shavings on your frapp, but its a nice place to sit and people watch. Coffee is decent too but many fall for their signature green tea mocchacino — sweet tooths will like this one. They also stock a range of sweets and waffles but I haven’t tried these. Service is efficient but could use a bit more ‘sweet memory’ themselves as they are lacking in enthusiasm. Open late, it’s the perfect meeting spot where ever your day/night takes you. You may even walk out with a birthday card or even stickers. There’s also a giant stuffed bear at the front of the store, I think he’s their best customer because he’s there even when the store is closed.

Having seen one of these stores in the city, I had been planing on trying it out for a while, so when I walked past the relatively recently opened store in Strathfield, I figured it was as good opportunity to give it a go. A big tick for them was that this café covered my trifecta of café requirements. Good coffee, good cake, and power outlets… But… They got 3 stars and not 4 for lack of finesse. Plastic cups for water are tacky, and while possibly forgivable… giving me a paddlepop stick as a stirrer is just wrong. If you are serving instant coffee you can do what ever you want, but if you go to the trouble of making something decent, then please… don’t ruin it. And then… to give me a plastic fork with the cake!!! Seriously… lift your game! The new york cheesecake here was quite nice. A bit fluffier than I prefer it, but I am sure that for the mostly Asian customer base the fluffier the better. I still scoffed it down with no troubles. The coffee was also a bit of a surprise. While this café falls into the category of cafes that put too much milk in the mac(for my liking), they did a very decent job. The crema was nice even though the coffee was slightly over espressed.
