Maldini’s Cafe

First I’m gonna get the bad stuff out of the way: customers smoke, it’s cramped, it’s loud and they play hip hop. Not what I was expecting for my breakfast.
The good news is that the coffee is really good, they definitely take pride in it. The breakfast I had (ham and cheese omelette) is also really good.
So what can you as the reader take away from this? Exactly, stick to take away and you’ll have a much better experience.

I’m not in the Strathfield area often, but knew I had to spend a day there. So as any good coffee enthusiast would do, I proactively researched, and came up with Maldini’s as the best coffee in Strathfield. Wow. If this is the best coffee in Strathfield, I cringe to think what the other cafes offer. Completely undrinkable and had to toss it after a few sips. Did not try any of their food and my coffee was a takeaway, so my review is based purely on the coffee itself.

The good coffee and funky décor do nothing to save this place from it’s complete lack of ambience and uninspiring location. Heartily recommended as a place to pick up your takeaway coffee right near the train station but don’t expect to be able to sit somewhere quiet or clean or interesting.

Decent coffee, but sometimes the service can be pretty crappy. And everyone is smoking all the time.

Had a takeaway mocha here. Gotta say I was pleasantly surprised by the coffee here. However its easy to find cheaper coffee elsewhere.

Not sure what it is about Strathfield, but this was the 2^nd café I have visited that decided giving people plastic water cups was the best idea. Um… it is not. It just cheapens the experience (which is very unfortunate…).
I don’t have a lot to say about this café, as there is likely not that much to it. They have a focus on coffee, and do a fairly decent job of giving you what you want. Obviously mine was spoilt by the addition of too much milk (as per usual), and so I didn’t experience anything fantastic.
Also the atmosphere of their seated area seems pretty haphazard, and thrown together. I did not get the feeling that they had put all that much effort into it. Still… if you want a decent coffee, they shoud be able to sort you out.
