Ganache Chocolate

I mentioned 3 months ago how great the Affagato was… Forget everything great about this place its just turned brown like
Crap. More significantly the business is connected all in one phone line as I have realised later. When I called the Collins St. Business to put a formal complaint in I ended speaking with the manager (mentioned below balding gentleman)
I’ve been there maybe more then ten other times since my Affagato review And not by myself. In all the times my friend and I walked in was greeted. and given menus «while seated»…
This time– we both walked in, my friend sat immediately I was then told at the counter «you must pay first in order to get service» my friend hasn’t told me what he wanted to drink and I wasn’t going to guess so I thought it was best to go sit down. So then I said: «can you just come to the table And give us service so we can tell you our coffees?» … (Her French accent) she said: «yes, but you need to pay first before you get your order…» she neither got the fact that I wasn’t by myself– or the fact that who I was with is somewhat elderly and had to sit down… Her tone was a bit ugly and I then insisted she get the supervisor. From there it went down hill cause my friend didnt understand why we couldn’t get service. We started to get up to leave when… All racial hell broke loose… Where not just the Manager of the place but another customer who is a «blued hair old woman» started screaming at me about how that French girl supervisor was «trying» to do her job.
The manager nearly laid two hands on me!!! While the old woman customer was talking at me… I’m almost tempted to report his actions to the police!!! I touched no one and I was screamed at!
All the while MY friend was not near me and had already headed out the door and saw none if the last terrible predicament I was in… Left looking like a terrible «tan skinned American» who sounded crazy while a partially balding gentleman And and old «uptight» woman talked down to me.
Perhaps it was the time of day– 4:20– 4:40pm
Perhaps it was the day– Tuesday
Perhaps it was that this so called supervisor doesn’t like «American accented people» (after all the acting supervisor is French)
Perhaps it was just the fact that a new supervisor could have handled herself better with her tone to a customer…
Whatever the facts… This business is officially tainted on my foodie list. In regards to customer service… You break one And that can be followed by more… If I’m just one customer, it’s just time before others discover how sour they’ll be handled while there too… I can never go back to Ganche now… Too bad. It was on my high list. Forget that now!
I most likely do better with Lindt on Collins st. Or Cocoa Black, maybe even San Churro or Max Brennan… BP Chocolate isnt far from this one either… They are much better too!

This place would get 5 stars if they had wifi. But they don’t.
The brownie mousse is amazing.

Nice spot for a late supper. We visited Ganache after a movie and it was a cold night so a hot chocolate and something delicious to eat was a perfect end. Unfortunately they had sold out of several menu items. It was quite busy so difficult to get a seat but they have a variety of seating including comfy couches. Worthwhile visiting if you happen to be in the area. Nice little chocolate gifts too.

Ganache Chocolate stocks a devastatingly beautiful array of miniature chocolate bites, chocolate blocks, chocolate sculptures, mousse-​cakes and a small selection of macarons. To MoMo & Coco, the product that distinguishes Ganache Chocolate from other Melbourne chocolate shops has to be their chocolate sculptures (although, a special mention to their cake slices too). Apart from the seasonal creations depicted in this journal-​blog post, Ganache Chocolate also offers an assortment of sculptures throughout the year. They make for a very fine centrepiece for an at-​home dinner party, or for that very special child, or young-​at-​heart-​adult. And most importantly, they taste as good as they look!

While looking for a quiet place for coffee and dessert last Friday, we decided to give Ganache on Toorak Road a run for its money.
Yes, we’d been here before but only for coffee and macarons.
This time however we chose to share three desserts and for the record, have fallen in love with this cosy little place in South Yarra. With its exposed brick walls, rich darkwood furniture, comfy seats (we had the privilege of the lounge suite) and soft lighting, it’s the perfect place for an after dinner cuppa and dessert. Perfect for couples or just good friends who don’t want to scream across the room to be heard.
High on my list of reccomendations :
1) dark chocolate gelato ($ 3)
2) the Ganache platter which includes four delicious gourmet chocs and a macaron of your choice ($ 10)
3) the hazelnut fan slice ($ 7.50)
4) orange and lemon cointreau tea cake ($ 7.50).
Hint: lavender fans will love the lavender macarons.
And if you want a really good experience, ask for the manager, Justin — who is always so helpful, has excellent recommendations and is always a joy to deal with!
