The atmosphere was terrific. Got a table straight away and only a small line to order food. The food ended up taking longer than expected and when it arrived it was terrible. We got chicken burger, buffalo wings a and calamari. It was all bland and the chicken burger was just weird tastings strictly beer venue from now on for me.

Attended an end of year event at the Verandah Bar. The catered food was well below average & the served the worst food first. The sliders tasted bland, the batter on the chicken & squid was floury and the bruschetta was tiny. No music to be heard & limited bar selection. I do not recommend functions here at all.

Bar prices too high for a pub Overly aggressive door staff No thanks. I’ve been here a few times for drinks with friends/birthday parties and am disappointed 9⁄10. The pizzas are good value.

The Windsor is one of my favourite places to go for a casual drink and a pizza. It’s a bit overpriced for what you get however I just love being there in the summer as the atmosphere is great. My favourite place to sit is the outside bar. There’s little waterfalls and a pond, bridges, two private function areas, couches to relax in and gorgeous gardens. It’s really relaxing! Like another Unilocaler said — if you go, you definitely have to then walk down to the foreshore as it’s so worth it for the view of Perth city.

Today our group of 7 had lunch at your venue. Four of us had the bbq prawn with pumpkin salad and mentioned to our waitress it was very salty. I rang two hours later and asked for the chef and explained to him the dish was too salty. He took my Christian name and said he would tell head chef. Now five hours later I feel my body is overdosed on salt. Not good enough. Not in a hurry to go back.

Consistently ok. The pork belly was lovely as were the duck fat potatos. Never had a bad meal here but nothing ever exceptional. Had the lemon meringue dessert and whilst nice the lemon meringue pies felt store bought. Always good though to continue with a drink in the back bar and some good tunes. Never exceptional, always consistent.

Average. Not many options on the menu, bar is kind of messy… Would be good if they were open until late, closing at midnight is frustrating, even on winter. The venue is appropriate for a late night so why not go for it…

Very expensive for a pub! And the food isn’t amazing for the price you pay! It is however a very nice atmosphere for a drink. There are many different areas to have a drink too, front bar, outdoors, restaurant and an alfresco style bar!

Superb food. Three of us chose the squid, a lovely salad with a poached egg, salmon and cheese and a bowl of piping-hot chips, Delicious. There is a seated smoking area outside and it was great to have a cigarette with our meal. A lovely spacious Australian pub feel in an upmarket suburb.

I love this place. Even though I don’t get to south Perth too much, the Windsor has a draw. I went first during the AFL final which was a BLAST and then for Sunday sesh. I don’t know if I was just really hungry but the fish and chips were amazing that day. Both times I encountered top notch service at the bar… always a PLUS!

Visit this pub regularly for meals with friends. Have always had great meals, no complaints ever. But last night my husband and our friend both had extremely overcooked rib eye steaks that were very dry. They ordered med rare and rare. Both were pretty much well done. Notified the manager who apologized and offered more jus!#!. At $ 37 a pop would have thought they would reduce the bill… but no they didn’t. Friendly French waiter was great.

This place is great fun on a Friday night! I’ve only been here mainly for sunday drinks but I’ll be back again — I’d forgotten how nice it is! Lots of room to move, different sections to hang out in, great music(if you like destiny’s child like me) and it was pretty quick to ger served. I really like the layout of the outside area, great place to come for drinks with friends.

I love visiting The Windsor Hotel as it has so much to offer. There’s 2 bar’s, one inside, one in the beautifully decorated beer garden and one large restaurant so it can cater for everyone’s needs. Prices are on par with other pub’s in Perth but this one just seems a little bit prettier to visit :)

The Windsor is our nearest pub so it would be great if it was a nice place to eat, have a few nice drinks and enjoy a good night out. However it just never really is. Firstly the food has gone downhill in the past year, the menu and even table numbering system has changed leading to huge confusion and terrible service. I have refused to eat here again after have three consequetively under par meals. Its fun on a Friday night in the Garden area out the back with music and a good buzz but otherwise it really lacks atmosphere. Its nice on a sunny day to grab a table out the front on Mends St and have a beer with friends but that’s where it ends I’m afraid. As a local resident I’d love to see this place being run properly with a good kitchen as it would be our first port of call if it was. For now its easier and nicer to hop on the ferry and visit the Lucky Shag when we feel like some pub grub.

If you’re undecided about where to go for your Sunday sesh then make it The Windsor. Beautiful building with a huge beer garden and great food. The only downfall is that it’s a bit in the middle of nowhere but it’s definitely worth making your way out there. Try the Somersby cider on tap!

The Windsor is such a hard place to review because it offers a few different experiences, and I guess it depends on what your expectations are and which experience you choose. There is a beer garden outside, a bar inside and a restaurant area. I have been to the Windsor a few times, and I think I have managed to get all the experiences. My most recent venture to the Windsor led me to the restaurant part. It was a Saturday night and it was pretty busy. We did not make a reservation and 3 of us were seated immediately by a guy who might possibly have been having the most fun at work I have seen in a long time, which was very nice to see. He was efficient but keen for a joke and very attentive. We placed our drink orders immediately and they were delivered about 5 – 10 minutes after that at which point we placed our order. The good came out about 15 minutes after that, which I thought was impressive considering how busy it was. The food itself wasn’t the most amazing meal I’d ever eaten. I got the pork belly, chips and salad. The pork wasn’t crispy on the outside and the BBQ sauce on it was a little over powering, but it did have a hint of chilli which I enjoyed. The rest of the menu includes the usual suspects for a pub, steak and chips, pizza, wedges, but it also had a few surprises such as lamb cutlets with potato gratin which I think I might try next time. My 4 star rating mostly comes from the staff, which I have always found to be fantastic, the décor and the building, and also the beer garden experience. I have been during the day, where I have found it’s the perfect place to catch up with a friend in a nice, quiet and relaxing place and I’ve also been at night, where there is music playing, there are lots of people and it creates a really great atmosphere, while still providing a low key night out. I find a nice wander along the foreshore is the perfect place to walk off lunch on a sunny afternoon! South Perth foreshore is spectacular!

I’ve just read the reviews from other Unilocalers and wow, it’s a mixed bag. So I thought I might as well throw my hat in to the ring. First thing is first: as a pub, and a rather large one at that, I am not going to expect silver service. However, I have always been rather charmed by the service I have received at the Windsor Hotel. While I wouldn’t call myself a regular, I have been on perhaps a dozen times and apart from one really bad date, have always come away satisfied. My last visit was a couple of weeks ago, on a Tuesday evening. Our group of four sat outside in the extension part(with the water features etc) on a balmy Summer evening. We each ordered a different meal: Barramundi, the special for the evening(beef cheek and mushroom pie), a filet mignon and my usual weakness of the calamari. The pie, oh man! A traditional presentation on a bed of mushy peas, yet the pastry was still crisp and buttery. The content — simply divine. Soft chunks of beef that just fell apart, enhanced by the earthy quality of the mushies and blended with just the right amount of rich sauce. My calamari was so plentiful it was almost squidding off the plate. Crispy spicy delicious with a tangy side salad in a separate bowl. The mignon was cooked to perfection(medium rare) and seemed a little larger than the advertised 200g. The fish was soft and the right amount of flaky, with a crispy skin on one side. When the waiter came to collect the plates, there were just smears and soiled cutlery left over. Happy faces all around. I’ve never encountered the bogans mentioned in one review, or the posh elites mentioned in another. But I do note it can get very crowded in the pub, both front and rear bars. If you wish to give it a try, just pick your time to go. If you wish to go during a busy period, then I would recommend you book a table to ensure a place. I would assess the Windsor as a consistent and pleasant experience.

The Windsor is a beautiful old building in the heart of South Perth. The inside bar has been nicely refurbished with polished wood floorboards and the original detailed skirting boards and ceilings. The outside area was renovated a few years ago, there is lot of seating and an Asian inspired pond, surrounded by wooden decking and a modern gazebo. In terms of food and clientele the Windsor is like any other suburban pub, the crowd is 20 to 30 years of age and the menu is made up of simple dishes to suit most diners, such as steak and mash, stir-frys and fish and chips. It’s a great place to catch up with friends but lacks that special something that many other places in Perth offer. Great for work functions, areas can be reserved for private functions. If you go at night make sure you walk 2 minutes down the road to the foreshore and take in the stunning view of the city skyline and it’s lights mirrored across the Swan River, it’s truly breath taking.
