I’ve been coming here for years. They are a very busy salon but do keep a high level of service most of the time. Staff are very friendly and really know what they are doing. Most stylists are award winners.

Never had a bad haircut here and they have amazing biscuits

I am usually a regular at the Toorak Road salon but this time the colorist that I wanted (Jodi) was on annual leave so begrudgingly I booked an appointment at the South Melbourne store. I am pretty easy going when it comes to hair colour and cuts and I am not one of those people who freak-​out if the colorist comes back to me we an outlandish idea or cuts 2 mm more off my ends than normal… what of it!
So I guess you could say what I was really looking for that day was good service. Well folks, you wont find it at South Melbourne that’s for sure. Aside from being one of the busiest hair salon’s that I have ever walked into, they were understaffed, unhelpful and at times unfriendly.
I came in the night before for a colour consultation and my stylist still didn’t remember me when I walked in the next morning and had to go over the same colour I had spoken to her about the night before. Conversation was like trying to draw blood from a stone… extremely frustrating.
The magazines she gave me were all about Vouge living and she didn’t bother to offer me a coffee until her ‘assistant’ stepped in first. They took ages to wash my hair and left me at the sink for a good 15minutes. Talk about a pain in the neck!
Overall I was happy with my colour, but a little smile and friendly acknowledgement wouldn’t have gone astray. At $ 200 a pop for some peroxide & a towel dry seriously is that too much to ask?
