Don’t judge a place by its puny name. These guys have an impressive range of deli, lunch and dinner options. You can get freshly made pasta, ravioli, tortellini and more, which you can team up with one of the many sauces on offer. Grab a gourmet pizza that’s ready for the oven. The premade lasagna and cannelloni are delicious, and heat up in minutes. Then there’s aranchinis, samosas, boreks, quiches, gourmet pies, oh my. Of course they also sell all types of finger foods, cheese, and bits and pieces that would turn a dinner party into a huge success without the fuss and mess. They may not be the cheapest option in the market but they’re certainly one of the best.

I never make a visit to South Melbourne Market without stopping by Pickadeli. I’m a sucker for a place that offers testers, and the dips on offer here are top of the range… as are the cheeses, meats, sauces, pastas, meals, pizza bases and breads.
This is a true gourmet style deli and as a result the produce is of excellent quality. Unfortunately, however, this means that it is also bound to be super expensive. But, as far as I’m concerned Pickadeli is more than worth it.
