Somewhat hidden, but popular with South Freo locals, this small park is one block from the intersection of Duoro Rd and South Tce. Clearly not as large as the nearby South Beach parkland, nor other Freo headliners like Esplanade Reserve and Booyembra Park, it still provides a fair range of facilities in a less hectic environment. On offer in this primarily grassed area are: * reasonable space for canine capers and human exercise * a smallish fenced children’s playground aimed at younger kids. This includes a slide, swings, seesaw, climbing walls and sprung ride on toys(parents will know the type). The surface is fairly clean white sand, there are some trees for morning shade and a shade sail in warmer months, and chairs inside and out for parents to sit and watch(or get list on their smartphones) * separate, higher slide and swing set * a netball ring * a street art adorned brick wall for hitting or throwing balls against * electric barbecue facilities(free I think) and tables/chairs for dining. [By way of note, well known takeaway places such as Missy Moos, Run Amok, Pizza Lounge and a fish and chip shop are within a short stroll, as is the South Beach Hotel and its bottle shop * public toilets Admittedly there is not much in the way of interesting fauna and flora, and it is not unknown for some of the local ‘colourful characters’ to enjoy refreshments there, but you expect to share community facilities with the community, don’t you. :-) Worth a visit, particularly if other parks nearby have become all too familiar or are crazy busy.
