Don’t let looks deceive you! Reunion and co looks like the kind of brunch spot that you want to make your local really quickly. Great interior design, with funky indoor plants hanging from the roof, cool hanging pendants, natural light filtering in and promising pastries on the counter. But sadly no, we waited for over 50mins to receive our food! When the food came it arrived a couple of plates at a time and my group of friends all had to eat at different times. I order an egg and bacon burger, and I understand that most people like their egg yolks runny and I can deal with that, but after you have waited for nearly an hour and parts of the white of your egg isn’t cooked then I am not so keen. I ate around the egg because my friends didn’t want to make a fuss, normally I would have sent it back. An apology about the lateness of the food was given but no compensation offered. I asked for a round of free drinks and the waitress said she would ask. We waited but got no reply. Eventually we ordered more drinks and the manager said we could have some of them complimentary. The excuse given was that they were busy, but for a café on a Sunday that really doesn’t cut it! Some of the food looked great and the interior has a cool and inviting feeling. But sadly the horrible service and very average meal means I won’t be back, especially when there is so much hot competition on bridge road, including the fantastic touch wood next door. Give it a miss and try another, no one wants to be disappointed!

Great coffee and service. The house cured trout with beetroot relish was great. Delicious, perfectly poached eggs Benedict with slow cooked ham. A well lit, ambient setting. They do a good soy latte too, for the lactose challenged.

Unfortunately it was too busy for me to get a table, so had to get coffee to go. Delicious! Friendly staff, great atmosphere, can’t wait to be able to get back at a quieter time.

The latest member to the bridge rd strip and very popular with everyone wanting to check out the new kid(me included). Reunion Co has a beautiful fit out and have been able to create a lovely relaxed vibe even while packed out with a waiting line. The menu unfortunately felt a bit limited, especially compared to its next door neighbours — touchwood, lumberjack, cafe3121 and clover&rye. Overall I liked the vibe and this is a place I will come back to for coffee/tea with friends but not for brunch unless the offerings are extended.

Great new addition to the ever improving Bridge Road status as Melbourne’s new food Street. Service was quick and friendly, food was top shelf quality and coffee, although a wee bit weak was so much better than waiting for over an hour at the very noisy and to be honest not great Touchwood. I would highly recommend going and it seems to be holding this overall quality everything we go. Keep it up guys!

It takes a lot for me to want to visit Richmond for brunch. The stars aligned one day though and together with a local friend we made our way to this new café. Sitting right next door to one of my favorite Richmond haunts, Touchwood, we thought it would have to be pretty exceptional to compete. Upon arrival the friendly owner operator said we would need to wait outside for a table — no worries we thought. When we were eventually shown to a table a few minutes later it was dirty, still had cups on it and after a few mins waiting for a menu we just stood up and moved to a table nearby that was already setup. Coffee was fine. We also got a $ 9 smoothie which was barely blended and didn’t taste great — just ok. I got the bread and butter pudding which was ok but not really a pudding, more just fried thick toast with some berries. It also didn’t have the same berries that were written on the menu. We also got the pine mushrooms and chilli which was nice, nothing exceptional though. We chose those things as the rest of the menu is very standard. The interiors look nice. This might be teething problems as it has been operating for only a week. I really hope they Improve though as there are currently much better options nearby.

Somehow limited choice of menu. Service a bit on the slow end but may be because it’s just opened. Outdoor tables right on the edge of the footpath, could be arranged better. Impressive quality of the food makes up for all of above.

Busy Bridge Road has a new kid on the block and if their opening week was anything to go by, Reunion and Co. has indeed reunited the area with great food and coffee. The creation of two business partners, Reunion and Co. is a complete rejuvenation of what was previously a print and graphics on a prime street corner location. A lot of thought has been put into the interior design which combines elements from the buildings historic past, with stained glass segments on the front window and the ornate Victorian era-style ceiling, and modern design techniques with the sleek timber furniture, hanging lightbulbs and exposed beams. Hanging basket plants add a touch nature to the mix. The kitchen has the appearance of a concrete slab structure built within the room, completing the vintage home-cross-industrial feel. With a focus of local and ethical farming, the seasonal food menu is an eclectic mix of typical breakfast and lunch dishes with some exciting creative touches. Highlights include the House cured trout congo, kipflers, beetroot relish and goats curd with eggs on eggs, the Bircher muesli soaked in coconut milk, poached pear, pistachio, strawberry and lemon balm and the Pressed lamb shoulder on house made flatbread, fennel, barley, beetroot relish and spiced labna. There is also a selection of bagels on offer to add an extra element of choice. On this visit I had the Free range pulled pork brioche roll with Asian slaw and chilli jam. To be honest, I didn’t notice the words chilli jam when ordering and was pleasantly surprised with the resulting gentle spice kick after biting into the well toasted bun. Not too spicy, just enough to be that special something that makes a dish. The pulled pork was tender and juicy and the carrot and red cabbage slaw completed what was a great lunch meal. Coffee is a blend from Allpress with soy and almond milk available. Also on offer is a range of teas, juices, smoothies and coconut water. There is also a takeaway window around the corner in Neptune Street to cater for those who just want to grab a coffee and go. Reunion and Co. is an exciting new addition to the bustling Bridge Road precinct and is one to watch.
