Very yummy massive 12″ classic weiner and one with pickles. The shake was tasty as. Had a medium disco fries, wow! Gravy, cheese and onions on the chips. If in prahran, definitely recommend if you love hot dogs.

I love this place and have been going since it was a tiny shop on greville. I’m yet to try the massive but what I’ve had is always excellent.

It was one of the worst things I’ve ever eaten. I like the concept but the quality is lacking. They were unable to tell me what meat it is(i.e. pork or beef, as I can’t eat pork and I asked for beef!), and it was definitely pork. The bread tasted very cheap too,

I visitied Massive Weiner when looking for food late at night — most restaurants had already closed. Simple fast food joint offering just hot dogs and fries. Cheap, fast and tasty with a small choice of toppings. It’s the perfect place to grab a quick bite during an evening out on Chapel Street.

This is the best hot dog shop in Melbourne. It offers 4 options for hot dogs each in 3 sizes. It also sells 3 kinds of fries, serving the best chilli fries in Melbourne and I have tried many locations. It sells a range of soft drinks and offers floats, and milk shakes in 3 flavours. The walls are covered in photos of people that have attempted the 3 foot hot dog challenge. There are both males and females. The best time is just over 2 minutes. You must remember this is Australia so it is a pork hot dogs. This is a great place for lunch very casual dinner or after a few quenching ales. I cannot recommend this place higher

I’ve driven past this place a few times over the past month and for some silly reason thought it might be a cool place for a date — it’s not. Luckily my first experience here was at 3am with a handful of semi-sober girlfriends who were much more interested in getting as many disco fries in their mouths as possible. Ordered the Average Joe with pickle: it was quite good but the wiener itself was a bit too ‘hot dog water’ flavoured. Cheap white bread buns are both terrible for you and terribly delicious and the perfect complement to the condiments(which themselves were plentiful and tasty). The disco fries were the real winner here: thin-cut fries with cheese that made my lactose intolerant body hate me about an hour later(lol I wanted to go on a date here) smothered in onion and delicious salty black gravy. It tasted almost like my childhood(minus the wine aftertaste of course). I knocked off a star because the hero should be the dog but it was the fries instead. Great snacking for 3am, although the line is a killer and you’ll leave smelling like deep-fried potato grease and the tears of your career that left you serving hotdogs to drunk people in the wee hours of the morning.

Just concentrate on the basics, wieners, shakes(or in my case a float with Dr Browns Soda) and great friends! You cannot go wrong at Wieners, and nothing has changed with the move to Chapel. Choose your size of dog, grab some chilli or disco fries and sit back and enjoy.

Well, only made it to the first and original store briefly and that was one time. I then kept forgetting about going back and tried to remind myself to go, only to forget again. By the time I did go for a second time, they had moved locations. So off the new location I went only to be thrice dissapointed at the fact that they weren’t open three separate times. Anyway, two visits later and I’ve had the chilli dog and the classic pickle, both in decrees of massive as well as the chilli cheese fries. So perhaps this is me making up for lost time. Great food, at pretty cheap prices, but you get exactly what you pay for/expect. Hot dogs! with the classic frankfurter sausage. Soft bun, plenty of sauce, cheese and all made to be tasty. So the food wins! However I’m thinking I’ll avoid this place when its late night Friday or Saturday; commotion, chaos, arguments, long ques, cars doing bur-outs and getting bashed are not really my thing. It’s also across the road from revolting, oops I mean revolver.

After a year and 8 months in Greville street, the guys have packed up and moved down the road to Chapel. In their own words ‘Its time to get serious on Chaps’ — the guys have some new recipes in store for us Wiener addicts! You really can’t go wrong by indulging in a wiener from Massive Wieners, fresh ingredients and value for money. You can still get your faves like the chilli dog, I tend to lean toward the pickle with bacon. If you haven’t tried a wiener yet, its time to get on board and do yourself a favour! You really have no excuse now they are on Chaps!
