I’m a big fan of Japanese food and I’m convinced this is one of Perth’s best. The restaurant is hidden away downstairs of Brookfield Place in a stylish, dimly-lit space that instantly transports you to Japan. There’s a bar out the front but it’s inside where the action takes place, around the teppanyaki and robata grill — which only fire up at night. There have a big menu which offers great variety so there really is something for everyone. Not to be missed as starters are the salmon tacos and also the soft shell crab salad, which comes with watermelon and a yummy ponzu dressing. They both pack a big flavour punch. We also ordered the tempura prawns which are textbook perfect. Of the sushi rolls we enjoyed the Ebi Tempura Maki, of tempura prawn, avocado, rolled inside out with tobiko. Other highlights were the chicken and beef skewers, cooked on the robata yaki and full of juicy smoky barbecue flavours. Japanese restaurants aren’t famous for their desserts but it’s here Sushia really stands out. Their hot chocolate fondant and semi freddo desserts were both to die for, providing an excellent finale to a great dinner. The service was efficient and the atmosphere buzzing, making this a fun place to dine at.

This is the second time having the lunch set menu. The quality of food is amazing. It’s a pity they don’t offer the lunch menu at dinner time. The atmosphere is quite dark with a nightlife feel which would be perfect for dinner with a group or romantic night out. A plus side to having lunch here is that it’s a nice escape from a busy work day you feel as though a night out has started. Although getting back into work mode after lunch can be hard :-) ”
